  • Well the time is finally hear, the Vactan treatment on the chassis of the ST220 has started. I am glad to be finally at this stage as this has been a long time coming. The prep for this has been tedious but I hope will be worth it in the long run.

It’s so good that we are preparing these cars as future classics, modified or standard. There will come a time when there are only a few hundred turning up at shows. Nice work as always Chaz, keep up the epic work mate 👍

Cracking on there, Buddy. Well impressed.
Wire wheeled my trailing arm brackets and Vactaned them recently, with the use of only 1 hand 😂
Dropped them in for powder coat in black last week and they're ready for collection now. Fingers crossed they'll come back nice.
Still way way behind you though on the progress.
Had a pin drilled into mywrist yesterday, so hoping to be able to get back under the car around February time 🤞
    Keep the progress vids coming.

Hi chazz it’s dunk yr making awesome progress m8 , see I told you Vatican is good stuff as we’ve spoke about before I’ve used it on Al my mondeos I’ve barely metalled underneath m8 it’s the only way to go when I’ve treated and painted my previous ones I then use dynax S50 anti corrosion wax ( cavity wax) I make sure I load x2 750 ml cans into the rear crossmembers and silks I drill a 5 mm hole at the rear bottom end of the sills and load them up too I’ve welded quite a fue of theese up in this known problem areas as we know m8 , tell you what I can’t believe how clean yr motor is underneath you’ve struck gold there m8 with that 1 , on my infraestate I used upol gravi tex ( polymer rubber sealer ) then painted that but in the spring when I do my ink hatch ( TIGS) ile be using the new stuff tgat comes car body colour can’t wait to do that if u can get yr hands on a compressor when you’ve used the vactan m8 try and cover the lot in epoxy primer give it some propper protection that’s what I used ( don’t use water based stuff out of a can try and use 2k stuff if u can it’s far better rust protection m8 ) keep it up gonna look awesome when done

@ChazzCoombes that mazda was started off as just a hole in the boot floor it progressed into a sieve holes everywhere. I was driving round in it for months with no seats in the back or side panels in-between work and welding it lol 😆. On another note I did my pads on my mondeo yesterday following youre guide, it was quick and easy i wish i had done the discs now as they were losse and not seized on but they are serviceable unlike my pads i might do a vr on the pads later
