    Not having the beep yet, but noticed compared to my other toyotas with the same system, the motor is running very often. Could it be the accumulator is not being able to hold pressure? or does this occur when the motor is near the end of its life?

    Gone 20,000 miles like this. Over the past year I found a fuse related to the VSC but then had no speedometer, power steering was weak, and no cruise control. Now I finally found the buzzer, ripped it out. I still carry that buzzer with me to this day.

      Brakes felt like the car was off before repair so a lot of foot pressure was needed to stop. no need to bleed unless you replace the whole unit which I did not do, I only replaced the pump because that's what went out on my vehicle.

      @@jaybourbon8608 it drove like the booster had no vacuum on a normal car, you can stop but u need 2 feet if your not strong. This repair did not remedy the vsa lights but did fix the no brake assist issue. If it needs just the motor then this repair works but sometimes the module will also go out which has to be off a highlander or Lexus rx350 hybrid not the prius.

    Can I assume you had the red warning light on, red brake light on, and several others such as abs amber light on, prior to this fix? Did they go away, too? Has the fix lasted?
    I watched another video where the guy just swapped the actuator motor and it didn't get rid of the warning lights.He then switched out the block thing that the brake lines go into and that fixed the problem. But to clarify, swapping the motor only solved your problem?
    Thanks.

    • @bearle97
      @bearle97  4 года назад

      Yes you are correct, to fix this issue you would need to replace the whole abs module not just the motor. This fix works, i hadnt had issues since but the lights did stay on. The abs module code had disappeared but it still had speed sensor issues which were caused by a bad module computer from what i understand

    • @bearle97
      @bearle97  4 года назад +1

      I knew my motor went out because i did not have assisted braking, this repair did not completely fix my issue only got the vehicle to driving conditions again. I had an abs code for abd pump failure which is why i replaced it and the vehicle lets you know with a horrible constant chime even when the vehicle is in accessory mode. If your abs module itself has failed this repair will not fix that, this is only an abs pump repair

      @@crbDesignz not sure about anyone else. Just mine is wonky? However, where I'm at now is with an appointment at a shop. Why? Because the codes are all over the place. In fact even the behavior of the ABS actuator is all over the place. That sound means it's working properly. So the clicking is good. Been that way since I got it until recently. Then a of a sudden, no noise. Now the noise is back. I'm not gonna go slam on my brakes to see if the ABS works. Cat code is back. Gonna try that laquer thinner in the gas to see if that works. I have prius 2007 japanese domestic here in pakistan this car is notoriously bad when it comes to ABS issue. Had to replace ABS unit two times with 2nd hand working unit. Just recently changed Full ABS unit it's working fine now. Here in Pakistan 2nd hand salvaged car's ABS module costs around 30K to 35K Pak Rupees. US dollar is around 150 pkr for one usd so you can calculate price in usd. First time i changed ABS unit it was expensive like 60K PKR now it's 30K.
    My first replaced 2nd hand unit worked good for 2 years. I heard New ABS unit price too much to afford so everyone replaces with 2nd hand ones.

    • @cjackfly
      @cjackfly 2 года назад

      If you bleed the front brakes, you don't need the computer. To bleed the rear brakes, you'll need a computer or you can use a hand pump and do it manually. I understand that they even use the hand pump method at most dealerships. What I did was to bleed the front brakes down to a low level in the resivoir then fill with new fluid there. The issue is that at arpund 15 to 20 years the fluid will have moisture in it. Figure 50% replaced is better than nothing. Plus it was super easy and brakes work well. If not for this stupid actuator problem. 😄

    I just replaced the pump motor housing and bearing the bearing failed causing a squealing sound I bought the correct pump and motor from eBay for a $100 dollars that was sold as is . I also had 2 blown abs box fuses blown because of the motor overheating and the bearing freezing up.The magnets in the pump housing were broken and fell apart after removing the housing from the magnetic field The 2 pins from the pump motor that run to the other side of the abs module and supply power to the motor those pins are welded to another pin that supplies electrical current the weld must be broken first if your going to replace the whole motor and rewelded the weld was more like a tig weld than a sauder weld . I didn't have to do that.i just replaced the bearing and housing that had good magnets .I'm am going to replace the whole motor because the magnets did turn to dust all over inside .I am currently trying to find that buzzer so I can unplug it .sounds like it's coming from the passengers side behind the radio .if anyone knows we're it is leave a comment .
