      @@ColdStream Hi. I've got a problem with my 2006 RX400H. I lost power steering last week on the road. I managed to drive it home. I was looking for the fault and found water at the DC Converter. I was testing for voltage from the Highbrid Battery and the system shows further 'Check Hybrid system' and VSC. Now I have 3 problems no P/S, Check Hybrid System and VSC.
      May I ask what diagnostics you use and how can I get it? I'm trying to help myself and minimize the exorbitant costs at Lexus. The truth is I took it to 2 garages and the mechanics were looking for belts and hydraulic system not knowing that it's Hybrid electric system. I knew about the car more than them so I decided to have a go at it myself. So could you please inform me about the diagnostics. There may be water at other places bear the Highbrid Battery.
      I am not sure how water got inside the car but it has caused my problem.

      @@allrighteousness4348 this video which you've commented on together with this video ruclips.net/video/0Qb6tI_Ogw4/видео.html will help you fix the fault and find where the water is coming from.
      For safety reasons please remove the safety catch from the hybrid before starting work, it's all included in this video. Also allow about 20 mins with the car totally switched off before removing the safety catch.
      The only testing equipment I have is this, I made a video about it ruclips.net/video/R_RvxqX9DSI/видео.html after using it the rest was just lots of online research.
      I'm sure you'll find the solutions you need in the links I've provided in this reply. 👍 If I can do it, so can you. Safety first.
      And yes! The reason why I did this fix myself is because i knew that mechanics were just going to guess and see if they can fix it, I preferred to try it, learn about it and do a good job. Get that water out of there and you'll save your car 👍👍

    Hey mate! Im going to try this today after work I think I have the same problem. Got a carwash and then this code popped up...do you suspect once I drain all the water out this will self resolve? Or do the codes need to be cleared?

    • @ColdStream
      @ColdStream  11 месяцев назад +1

      Drain it all out, removing and the reconnecting the battery will clear the codes but if you have a device to clear codes then use that.
      The fault will come back if it gets wet again so make sure you've solved the actual water flow problem 🤝🤝 please subscribe like share and watch all of my videos pls pls pls I'm trying to buy an iPhone lol

    • @ColdStream

      @finnmoriarty7727 I don't think it will be a problem hmm, first thing is get the moisture out of it, let it dry out properly and go from there 👌

    Thanks for uploading. I live in New England, I also had my VSC light come on a few months ago, went and bought a new battery, also changed it in the rain, but it turned out to by my ABS Actuator. But I’m glad you posted this video, because I never thought of this, and I’m sure if I remove my rear seats, I will also find water beneath hybrid battery. I have lots of leaks. Rear hatch gasket, front windshield replacement not properly installed, and also had mice at some point, they chewed around spare tire kit compartment. Third owner 2008 Lexus RX400H, purchased used at 190,000 miles, currently 215,000 miles, recent ABS Actuator replacement, timing belt, water pump, and tires. It’s a love/hate relationship. I love it when it’s tip top, no codes or lights on dash, hate it when dash is lit up like a Christmas tree, and I get a $4500 repair bill.

    • @ColdStream
      @ColdStream  2 года назад

      Very happy to help! If you're going to take the seats out remember that the bolts holding the seat down tend to open suddenly, instead of loosening off. Thank you for your comment, I'm the third owner too, and I think it's gonna be love hate too. Also you can force some of the carpet up near either of the rear doors, if you force that carpet up and tilt the car towards the carpet side you're lifting you'll see if there's water there 👍 gives you an idea before you remove seats. I had puddles there it was crazy. Thank you for your comment! 👌

    Hello I am new to your channel. I thankyou for showing this in-depth informative video . I have a 2007 Toyota Highlander, and the same thing is showing on my Odometer so I was wondering would I have to do the same thing like removing the seats, and all but my question is what did you used to dry water up with a shop vac , or what. Because I am having the same issue, and I’m not mechanically incline so my friend told me to RUclips it, and that’s how I came upon your video. Please tell me what to do because I truly love my car, and don’t wont to lose it. ThankYou!

      Hey Anita! I think you've subscribed 🎉🎉 so thank you very much 💪💪
      I just used a couple of dish cloth's to soak it up, use anything that will soak up water like a sponge etc.
      Don't lift the seats up unless you can first confirm that there is a water leak issue. To find that out you'll need to park one side of your car on a high pavement, then lift the carpet on the lowered side. If you see water gathered there then you know that you have this same issue 👌👌

      About this repair, I'm not really a repair guy, I work full-time otherwise yes I'd defo look at doing this job for you. Since I've done this repair the issue hasn't returned.
      Best thing I can advise on this, to get started, is check for water ingress. If your car does have that then solve that like I did and you're sorted 🎉 good luck and I hope you manage to have it sorted asap, nice and easily 💪
      Please subscribe Austin 🤝🤝

      @@ColdStream have subscribed and so grateful to have found your excellent channel.
      i dont have water ingress from what i can see, but have the same error codes, it looks like a serious amount of work to get to the hybrid battery so might have to bite the bullet and take it into a hybrid specialist

    Hi, I noticed that you also have a moon roof. Usually, when there is a moonroof, there are also channels and drains for any water that might seep in through the opening around the glass. Sometimes these drains get clogged with dirt & debris. They can be cleaned out with a wire coat hanger or other thin, yet stiff wire.

    But the check engine light wasn't on along with all that other warning lights?

  • @Zabarotropitili
    @Zabarotropitili Год назад

    So what's the end of the story? Mine always displays check hybrid system and VCS... after i disconnect and reconnect the battery. So what helps is the time and several engine starts. But this is a hard and heart breaking time. Do not want this when i disconnect the battery for different reasons.

      Hi Please Subscribe! I understand how heartbreaking and scary this time can be. I'm going through it with my other car (VW Golf).
      The problem shown in this video has never come back after I did this fix. What I did in this video fixed the issue. There may be other issues that cause this fault which I'm unaware of, best thing to do is get an OBD, even the cheap one shown in the video and get the fault codes, start there 👍

    Can you access the drain from under the vehicle?

    • @ColdStream
      @ColdStream  9 месяцев назад

      I can only say for sure that one of the drains (the drain in the middle of the car where the batteries are, possibly the ones in either side too possibly) is accessible from under the car, but I'm pretty sure it's tricky to get to, the other drains I'm pretty sure, are not accessible, but I did this a good while ago so my memory may not be serving me correctly, I'm pretty sure though.
      If you can safely get under the car then it's worth having a look and worth a try 👍👍.
