  • This video is very noisy! But I can be a lot noisier.
Second installment in my series on how I make these music visuals, muh secrets of twelve generations of digital artisans, shared WITH YOU. But I can't give you rhythm.
In this video I explore what to do with the results you can come up with in the first video in the series:

    Image Sequencing
I used kdenlive for this demonstration and it's wonderfully stable presently. You can use whatever software you are familiar with to explore these concepts. This is not a video editing tutorial, plenty of that to be found all over RUclips. This is method.
Part 3 will explore quickly knocking-up music videos in DaVinci Resolve, now that we have these concepts down. By the time I'm done, you will have multiple approaches available to you. I like challenging myself constantly and Resolve is GREAT for expressing the things I've learned. See you there. Er...see me there.

I know exactly what I plan to do for the next video, but I need to sidetrack back to audio for a bit and make something worthy of animating, then I'll show you how I go about it generally now. Might take some time, as this will be a Real Song, for a compilation.
On that note, I'm finally about to be released on another compilation in the works for some time, an Autechre tribute comp. I'll give a heads up when it's out. I guess I *could* do a video for it again, as there already is one that I was asked to put up way back when I submitted...but nah. Rather get ready for the next one, see? :) I can't just pick some favorite music for these, as I am not giving this work away to those bands, sorry. It's me showing how I do things. The sound needs to be me too. Tempted to use out of print gold, though. I just don't want to step on any toes.
    Definitely more to come.
