I could almost hear Mr. Rodgers speak up after the song, saying that was a lovely song, and that rainbows are a wonderful thing to share with friends. This was a wonderful arrangement, very well done!

Jacob Koller / The Mad Arranger This is my personal favourite jazz arrangement of "Over the Rainbow," and I do not say that lightly. When I was still in my main high school, I worked on sorting the music closet upstairs for the band director. I never got to finish it, as it was completely trashed, but I saw so many different arrangements for such a historically significant piece. Your arrangement , however, is the most moving and calming of them.
What is historically significant about it?
@@kieranpavlick3909 The songwriter was a huge figure in the fight for Hawaii's independence after it was annexed. There's quite a bit more to it, so I would recommend Googling it.

Jacob, that was lovely, those beautifully embellished Jackie pieces were what was SO good in piano bars. now they have messed it up w faster and faster renditions and so called "dueling pianos". I enjoyed it very much!

Hey Jacob, I know everybody has to earn a living, but it just seems that this particular arrangement should've been free. It's not the money, just the thought that it's "hey guys help me out with this and as my show of appreciation the check out is over there. Because while as much fun as it was our collaboration is really mine! You have a lot of fans who follow you and it's well deserved. You're truly amazing and posses a talent fans look up to and aspire to be like. Whether they'll ever get there or not, they'll follow you anywhere. It's your business, and my intention is not to offend. All I'm saying is giving one away would have gone further than any monies collected, for the fans and yourself as well. Whether it takes someone 3 months or 3 years to learn something they had a part in this is their chance to be like you! For the record there is not an underlying message to send me a copy, I am referring to your entire fan base. I do give out free sheets on my website and plan to give more free things in the future. The only thing is that it's illegal for me to give out free copyrighted music. I don't own the copyright to "Over the Rainbow." I'm trying to keep a solid relationship with the publishing companies and do things legally so they will continue to give me permission to use their arrangements. I will give things away to show appreciations to my fans but it will have to be original or public domain arrangements. Anyway, thanks for following my channel!
There is something I never considered and that was copyright laws. I was really hoping that there was a way to post privately so that it didn't seem like I was publicly trying bash you. Homero Castillo I actually have some students in Tokyo where I live but my I haven’t taken new students for a while. I’m considering to do a new style of teaching in the future where the student would set a goal (record and arrange 3 songs in 6 months for example) and I produce teach and help them through the process.
If I knew any japanese I definetely try to, guess I'll just have to keep studying by watching your videos.
