I watched this review because the title was negative. Now that I've bought this TV, I think this is a funny review. This model TV is wonderful for my use. It is going in a well lit room, so the contrast range is perfectly fine. In a dim room, the blacks might be not perfectly black. It will only be used for streaming, so the 60hz refresh rate is perfectly fine. The colors are brilliant and natural at the same time and it is SO sharp that it's AMAZING! The Sony quality and reputation for dependability along with my personal history with the brand is a major reason I chose this also. I could have spent $4,000 more and not be happier.
I bought the same model and its great. Of course the blacks aren't going to be OLED quality but you can tweak the settings to make it acceptable. 4K movies look amazing
Dude I have an X90J and I'm still blown away by how good my PS5 looks on it. But now my mom wants a new TV and so I was looking into this. Does the Bravia 3 make normal HDTV look good? My mom watches a lot of tennis. Do you think that would still be kinda upscaled like most Sony TVs do?
Don't go by reviews. I've always found Sony's colors true to life. Have seen LG (to a large extent) bump up thier colors on thier QNEd models and load a bunch of useless features and call them AI. Go do a test drive and check for yourself.
Have had this S30 in 65” for 3 weeks now. Got it on sale at Costco for $768. I’m picky and it hasn’t missed a beat. For 95% of tv watchers, this set will more than suffice. It’s a Sony, so you know it’s built well. That’s something. Local dimming, 120Hz, for most people doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. This set offers superb color, brightness and clarity. That’s all that really matters to most people.
You're absolutely correct, that's why customer reviews are far more important for these types of products than professional reviews. Professional reviews tend to focus on the nitty-gritty and the very fine points, 85% of which truly don't apply to most general television users. It would be like a car magazine reviewing an economy car and complaining that it doesn't have 800 horsepower like their favorite Maserati that they own, sure but for most people getting to work and going to the grocery store they don't need 800 horsepower to do it.
Id avoid all Samsung unless you're buying the 8ks, oleds or qn90 series. Source, I work as a professional in the industry. Same goes for LG. Avoid everything except the oleds. Sony is at least good all throughout the stack apart from the bravia 3.
I'm an electronics technician and without getting too technical Bravia 3's use grade A top tier capacitors on the PCB's. Top tier means the highest quality. So the TV's are built to last. Brands like TCL and HIsense use bottom tier grade Z capacitors thats why they always fail in a few years. The previous Sony I owned lasted 12 years before the panel wore out

Sony never cheaps out on the components. I've been buying Sony TV's for 30 years. They only use Rubycon, Nichicon, and United Chemi-Con which are the best

In my bedroom I have a Sony X80J because I was happy with the processing at the price.
I dislike watching TV on the TCL. Even though on paper it is a better TV than my X80J, the X80J gives me a clearer picture and better color. Contrast is not as good, but I can forgive that for a sharper picture.
The moral of the story here is that TVs are even more like cars than people want to give them credit for.
I have a Hisense u8g and the Google interface is snappy, it works surprisingly well. I'm double surprised since it's a few years old.
im defently gettin this bravia 3 its the best
Did they cheap out on the capacitors? Because I'll gladly take a smooth tv with poor contrast if it last over a VA panel tv that dies in 3 years
Sony never does. Always Japanese inside.
Sony never cheaps out on the components. I've been buying Sony TV's for 30 years. They only use Rubycon, Nichicon, and United Chemi-Con which are the best
@Steve-mp7by sadly the 50 inch variant has a VA panel and made me motion sick. Had to return it
@@GamingForTheRecentlyDeceased The supplier of the 50" panel in this range and last year's X77L has an inherent motion issue with a kind of strobing on panning shots. Disappointing for Sony. It's not a setting, it's in the particular panel (which happens to be VA but is not a problem of VA technology ). The Panasonics are fine.
@interstat2222 any idea why no ips panel from cheap to expensive have never made me ill but the first two VA panels that I bought I had to return? One was also a tcl c755 which says its flicker free and still made me sick nearly instantly
Image processing is everything.
Bravia 3 or U8N? They are in the same price range. I just don't know if I trust Hisense with my google account...
Hi, which one to choose between Sony Bravia 3 K75S30 and K75S30B. Also what's the difference between the two?
“B” version has Motion XR-100, whereas the other has Motion XR-200. “B” is available online only (I guess).
@@adarshgupta9952 which is better ? Motion XR 100 or XR 200 ?

XR-200 is better, and I recently purchased 55 inches Bravia 3 (XR-200) model from offline market.
@@adarshgupta9952 How is ur experience so far with it ?
I am also planning to buy Bravia 3 in 55 inches version.
Can u please review SONY BRAVIA-3 Model - 65S30 ? or at least drop comment about pros and cons that’s help me a lot whr i m going to buy this in a week. please help me and what is good alternate for 65S30 to consider. Thanks
But this is 75s30 😅
please suggest between Sony S30 65 inch vs samsung q70d , both are at same price at my location, my usage are for watching movies only so need best picture quality.
Same confusion here bro..😅😅😅
@@rohitgangawane3247 go with sony if same price.
This one or LG A3 Oled?
Recently Abby’s face on the thumbnails tells me all about the tv before the actual review ❤
Any idea on Samsung DU7200D from Costco.?
Get the DU 8000. It has digital optical out. DU7200 doesn't. Some soundbars only have digital optical in sound hdmi earc would not work for me.
I can’t stand when companies rebrand their product lines just to take away features from the entry level and budget models.
Thanks rtings. Always appreciate your reviews and youtubes.
tv's tend to crap out 4-8 years so I'm fine with this budget purchase. $950 over 8 years is a bargain, even if it craps out in 4 years no harm done for a $950 tv vs 2k+ tv, besides actual customer reviews rated this very very high and that's what matters most. 😉
$950 over 2 yrs is ok? 😂😂😂
8 years not 2. $950 over 8 years better than spending $2K over same period which some tv's cost
Great review! Looking forward to reviews for: Bravia 3 50 inch, QN95D 55 inch, C4 48 inch and of course Panasonic Z95A!
I have an x85k and enjoy it. I needed a 50 inch. So i got that model. And cant afford an oled yet and unsure if i got a good environment for it. Alot of the high performing tcls and hisenses are past 50 inches at smallest. So yeah i was limiyed on space. And maybe i didnt want a tcl or hisense and like sonys accuracy. Its not like the x85k is my last tv ever just the one i needed at the moment. Glad i didnt get a cheap walmart tv. I do like it. And happy to see it is better than the bravia 3. So yeah at best buy i see the x85k next to the bravia 3 and if the person wants or insist on a sony pay the extra 100. bucks.
Though a non enthusiasts will probably like the bravia 3.
You should have the hand model match Abby's tattoos to confuse people.
Is the Dolby vision feature reviewed? IINM this is one the cheapest TV out there with Dolby vision
She never reviews the good features because they are trying to get everybody to buy that Hisense and TCL junk
when you review sony x85l? thanks a lot😀
A classic example of why Sony's entry level models are best avoided unless you can find them with a large discount
and can live with their lack of esential features.
But please don't opt for the junk from China, they have buggy firmware and in the UK Hisense use their own diasterous Vidaa o/s
and that realy sucks,
Wait until the sales are on, and buy the best you can afford.
Sony is way better than that TCL and Hisense junk
@@Steve-mp7by I agree, this is why Sony's come with a 5 year warranty.
You won't get that with the junk from China
Difference between s30 and s30b? , Amazon showing both the versions
S30 Motion Flow is 200hz whereas S30B Motion Flow is 100hz. BTW avoid Amazon and go to local store if you are in India.
@@devil2trap Why avoid Amazon and go to local store in India?
Thanks.
@@potugadu5160 First you get more discounts and secondly u will have the confidence that you are getting new piece not the displayed or returned one. Also amazon delivery agent are careless with the products.
Got this Bravia 3 over TCL, and samsung because of quality issues. 😅😅😅
Hi, how do you feel about the contrast with dark video content?, some say it's the weakest point on this model
RTINGS only likes TVs that are out of the average persons budget. If it's not a $5000 OLED or QD minLED then it's not worth it.....
They always praise those junk TCL and Hisense TV's
sony always have their proprietary parts and design but a little bit pricey
Quality and reliability costs. Those cheap junk TV's don't last
@@Steve-mp7byThat is it! Loaded with cool features at budget prices but not durable. Sony , LG and Samsung are the big boys.
@@misterlexx2721 The previous Sony I had lasted 12 years. The panel started to die from old age but the TV still worked
The remote is worth it on its own over value TV's . The remote has backlighting and blue tooth connection to TV no need to point the remote at TV.
Please do bring sony's professional display reviews as well most awaiting to get through it 😍
I have puchased bravia 3 55" , I HAVE A DOUBT that when we turn on the tv after turning on the switch , we have to press power button on remote twice to turn on the tv. after that if the power supply remains on than it ons with 1 button click, is it fine and whats the reason behind it?
didn't ya ask customer support??
Something is updating
HDMI 2.1 a gimmick. You can use only 3 feet of this cable and a true expensive pc gaming rig. I can live with 60 hertz.
Panasonic is back 🎉
with junk
Panasonic dont have technology but is durable 😂
Sony best for "being there" accuracy. These "ratings" people are completely bogus
Yes you are correct. If you go to their website they praise that Hisense and TCL junk
That price 😢
If you pay $300 for 65 inch TV its not going to last. All the parts inside are cheap junk
@@Steve-mp7by The contrast on this Sony is junk. If you like your blacks to look light gray, then this Sony is for you. I'd rather buy 2 mid-level TCL's over the lifetime of one of these overpriced Bravia 3's if it meant getting substantially better picture quality with way more features. Sony couldn't even do 4k/120hz or VRR properly until what, last year? Sony TV's have definitely had hardware & software deficiencies of their own.
So many better tvs at this price point lol
That's Sony for ya,
Paying purely for the brand name
Can you please name some
@@ZeitGeist_TVtook the words right out of my mouth lol
Yeah…this is a bad tv. I’ll be sure to not even look at it next time I’m walking by it at Best Buy or something
Honestly these videos seem redundant. I wish these would go more in depth on different settings and their effects on the viewing experience.
It’s just a summary of the more detailed breakdown on their website. There are also plenty of RUclips channels that cover more of the settings part of things although most of them tend to stay away from TV’s that no one wants. Like this one. 🤷🏻♂️
It is great for casual - we know Sony low end are not good. But someone thinks buy a Sony as can't go wrong, gets a wakeup call. Tbf most who randomly bought this in a store would be happy as don't know better - or Fox news, PS4, and kids cartoons
@@thatsamazin- It just sounds like they're reading the summaries FROM their website. Plus, other channels don't use measurements and tests for different settings.
Wow Sony is on the cutting edge of LCD technology, this TV let’s show me shine their new technology.
😂😂
its an LED TV
It's called a budget TV kindergarten child. Are you gonna oled or Mini led TV at budget? Intelligence poor. 😅😅😅
'Budget Sony' is a bit of an oxymoron since one typically chooses Sony when money isn't mostly an issue and want the best picture quality and processing. There are other much better options for this price range to middle tier
The specs say it's HDMI 2.1
You guys never give good ratings to Sony according to you Samsung & Lg makes best television not others
Far too expensive (or value isn't great) vs other competing brands and there are a lot more better options
But of course, if money isn't a problem then go for it
@@sasori3398 you think so

ATSC 3?? Others say 1.0. Sony doesn't seem to say anything on their own web sites...
😮😅 i saw this TV at Costco (75”). The Hisense A7 Series and TCL entry both look better (i think they have VA Panels. The SONY look 5-10% Worse but 2X 😮 Price. Its CRAYZ. N its IPS.
lmao TCL and Hisense are junk brands. They die in 3 years. They build them to die on purpose

There are so many satly Sony fanboys in the comment section. Sorry, correction, Sony reps in the comments arguing and reasoning for this TV and its price, especially against Samsung, who doesn't even consider Sony as a rival or competition.😂
Have you ever been on a Mac forum? What do you expect? Hisense fanboys here by the Thousand?
@racineurr.8924 what are you on about ? What does Mac forum have to do with what I said. These Sony boys are on all the brand's TV reviews, especially Samsung and recently LG. brand bashing, and if someone says something wrong about Sony, they all go mental.
Hi Abby. Yeah no big deal about this B3. TCL and Hisense both have something just as good or maybe even better.😂😂

Tom's Guide Verdict
The Sony Bravia 3 will satisfy a small selection of shoppers: those who are shopping for a budget-friendly TV, who don’t need many extras, and who appreciate Sony’s approach to TV engineering. For gamers and people who just want to maximize their dollar, there are better-performing TVs available for the same price or less.
Pros
+
Accurate picture right out of the box
+
Google TV is flexible and well-integrated
+
ATSC 3.0 included
Cons
-
Too dim for bright rooms
-
HDR is not impactful
-
Almost no gaming features
-
Only 60Hz
No hdmi 2.1?????
no need for it when the panel is 60Hz.
