I understand exactly what Muge reacts to when she got bothered when she fell in love with this young boy, I was exactly the same as her when I was young! I had had the same reaction when I met a young girl who didn't want to know anything about me, and a fool read my letter in front of all the classmates, who laughed at me where I felt uncomfortable exactly like Muge! Directly, I understand her very well how she reacted, I would have felt exactly the same as the latter when she had experienced that at the time!

In the original Japanese voice acting she actually said to him "die" after step on the desk, I guess they decided to change it during the English dub.

Maybe, if you're a Westerner, then that can be hard to understand. But as a South Korean myself, whose country has closer culture to Japan than the West, I definitely understand him. In East Asia like Japan, Korea, China, that kind of "noisy and blatant" way of can-be-embarrassing way like love confession isn't welcomed and often drives the relationship of them worse.
This is because East Asians matter how others think about and see them. Everything is related and relative in East Asian culture. The West is, on the other hand, kinda absolutive as their values are based on individualism which isn't generally accepted in East Asia.

A Whisker Away is my favorite movie. I could watched it many times and never get bored of it. It’s so charming and I know myself and many others can really relate and/or connect with some things in the movie. I wish it was more popular.
Even though I have watched it many times, The one thing I can’t figure out and I need an answer to is, “Does Bannai like Miyo?”
It may not be an important question and it may be an annoying one to some. I know that everything isn’t always or needs to be tied to love or crushing, but I can’t help but notice the subtle expressions and reactions he has towards her. When when she talks about Hinode or it has to do something involving him, which he tends to bully her. Like some boys do when they like someone or feeling jealous.
If someone knows the answer, please let tell me so this lingering curiosity could rest lol.
