Nice gun for a a first-time gun owner. Our instructor has always said: "If you learn to hit the target with this gun, you will be a king with the .22". Starting from big calibers and gradually going down to small -- that was his philosophy.
I have the 6.5 inch half-lug barrel model 500 and love its balance. It has an integral compensator with three ports facing up on each side of the front sight. It will never be sold and passed on to my son when it is time.
I’m actually just starting my firearm collection and I live in Mass as well. I did my shopping over at four seasons in Woburn. I’ll have to check precision point out.
The muzzle-brake for cast bullets works equally well with jacketed bullets. But makes for a longer barrel by plugging the top vents and extending the release out in front. So get the most velocity and use only one muzzle-brake. My 6.5 inch barrel is long enough.
Ah, I just got mine today and my muzzle piece is different. Yours have holes on the side 🧐. Mine muzzle is closed? Is that difference gunna be a change in performance in any way?
That’s very cool my friend I add it to my gun collection too every time I hold it and I fired it is no joke I just think about Billy the Kid😘 It won’t beat you up too much if you choose different ammo Cartridge there’s so many cheers 🥳
When I purchased one of these it was suppose to be new but the cylinder had a scratch all the way around cause by the pin that rotates the cylinder. Thoughts?
Is that an 8 3/8" barrel? Because I've been looking for one with the 10 1/2", but all I've found are the funny, weird looking ones with the skinny barrel. I'd LOVE to have the one you have, but it would be bad ass to get one that looks just like that only with a 10 1/2" barrel.
I’m over 6 years late with this response to your comment. 😅 I’m sure you know now but just in case you don’t…the one you want is the “performance center”. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get this one shown in the video with the barrel being longer than 8 3/8 inches.
It's got a kick. And a big bang to match. The compensator helps out a lot. I have another video of my first trip to the range with it. I shot it with both hands. Next time I'll try a shot one handed, maybe. I liked it. Can't wait to take outside when it gets nice out.
Where are you from? My guy got me mine in about 2 days. He told me he sold another guy an 8'and a 4' the week before. I listed his web site in the video, precisionpointfirearms.com .His name is Johnny. He can do transfers. Send him an email. He might have better luck from his distributor.
I have the 460sw, and it came with the round rod also. The only thing that I can guess is, if one of the empty cases get a little stuck, you can use it to push them out. Lol. I still haven't figured it out also. Let me know if you find out what's it for.
Mismatched stainless, barrel does not match frame. Quality control issue. If you’re just going to shoot it, finish is not a big deal, Collector though will walk away
I'm getting the 460XVR, same barrel length, much more versatile ammo wise. 3 different calibers out of the same gun. 45 Colt, Casulls and 460 mag. 500 is awesome though
@@ronhall4199 Wow it's been a while lol. I got the gun and mostly use 454 casull in it I realod 3 calibers for it 460,454 and 45 colt I just love to see people's expression when I let them try to shoot a 460 at the range, the first word that usually comes out of their mouths is a swear loll
@@ronhall4199 I use a little Lee pro 1000 and reload every caliber I shoot with it 460 mag, 454 magnum, 45 colt, 357 mag, 45 ACP and 9mm. Man that gun will mess your wrist up. My 44 magnum is all i need with its 6 1/2 inch barrell. If i want to toss some serious lead around i will use my 12ga and/or my AR10
1299 MSRP Standard top ported, 1369MSRP HIVIZ interchangeable compensator. Don't let the photos on S&W website fool you of the finish. Both have the same Satin Stainless. Yet the more expensive model had a "chrome"(photoshop) look in website photos.
Ignorant comment. Highly useful for satisfying big game hunts or a more challenging deer hunt. The seasons are shorter and shots more difficult than shotgun season. Big game Black bear hunts in MA since this gentlemen is obviously from MA.
Yep, ya done good. The shorter barrel castrates the power and increases the recoil. The longer barrel increases the power and softens the recoil.

Perfect deep concealment gun

Some dumb ass spinning the cylinder and then slamming it shut 😬🤨‼️

The Allen key is to remove the compensator or too replace it either the other one,the screw,or bolt is located at the bottom from of the barrel
Front of barrel
