Skill Builder: How To Shorten Lined Curtains Tutorial (can be applied to unlined curtains too)

Today I had some curtains to shorten so I recorded my process so you could see the steps I take to achieve a good result. I'm not a professional curtain maker, these are my 'at home' steps, so my apologies to any professional curtain makers who are horrified at my attempts! I must say that I'm delighted with the result and the curtains fit perfectly - so maybe I am doing it right after all.
I give some tips on how to pin full length curtains to get your desired length regardless of how straight your curtain pole or floor may be. I also talk about how to make sure that the meeting point of the curtains, when pulled closed, meet perfectly. I then go on to show you how I measure, mark and cut the curtains before hemming them.

I watched you while sewing the binding on a table runner. I don't have any curtains in my new home, shutters and blinds instead. It was really interesting though seeing the care you went to, to make sure they fitted just perfectly. xx
