    Remember my favorite quote from Dr. Johnny Fever (and it probably goes back before then): "just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you".

    Great video! I just planted a grape and another organic blueberry variety. 70 of my 90 potatoes are coming up. Lots of things inside getting ready for outside. Got 2 week old chicks coming along. All on 1/3 acre in city limits. I love love spring.
    (Yesterday, started laying down hardwood flooring in the house we're building)

    My goal is to be able to go outside and pick food every day of the year. Some months there will be little more than Kale, Tree Collards, and Swiss Chard, but they lived through S N O W (in Tucson Desert Arizona!!!) and a handful of hard frosts, and then the next summer they survived a month and a half long hot, dry time. No sweat! LOL
    Over time, I want to add things that are year round perennial "things" that I like to eat, and are nutrient dense. You are absolutely right about the preparedness of growing a great variety.
    If you are ever in Arizona, you need to visit Yard Farm in Tucson. Yes, I'll cook for y'all. The Cast Iron King of the Kitchen here!

    Your video on scrounging for free supplies helped me in getting free vegetables from the expired food at the grocery store, free top soil left over from the garden renovation of our town, sand from the beach, free old newspaper to start the fires in the winter...... Did you buy all those five gallon buckets? I get free ones from the pizza place and grocery bakery. The pizza place throws out food grade big plastic containers ..... it might be fun to do another free video with others ideas.

    Nobody else seems to understand how buying 10 trees is beneficial, even if only one lives. There is cash flow money, and there is cash pile money. There is no cash pile price too high to buy some cash flow. A one time purchase cost is a cash pile purchase. Paying labor would be a cash flow thing.
    You are the only person I've seen talk about this concept. Thank you.

    Yes INDEED!!! Trees and especially fruit trees are better than money or alleged money -- you're talking investment in reality = nature ... nature always wins!!!

    Good to see you covering fruit trees again. Got me 2 Red Delicious Apples, 2 Plums, 2 Blueberries and a Blackberry. $14.99 for each tree and $8.99 for each bush. Tax (damn governor) put it over $90.00.
    I hope tomorrow i can dodge some rain drops and get them in the ground or just wait for the frost days to pass.
    Thanks for all the good info, brother
    God bless you and Michelle.

    Not being a Azz, but how come your trees aren't staked? Just curious.

    • @motiszm
      @motiszm 6 месяцев назад

      It's like what he said, if it can't survive without being coddled, then it doesn't belong there. But also staking trees makes them weaker, since they don't have to hold themselves up.

    • @PermaPasturesFarm21
      @PermaPasturesFarm21  6 месяцев назад +1

      When you stake a tree, it actually makes it weaker. The hormones build up to strengthen the tree as it struggles against the wind.
