+bushtales Thank you so much ! Over the last six years I had filmed several artists Robert Gordon, Bryan Ferry and a couple others. Over two years ago, I told my girlfriend I wanted to film Mr. Clinton, having seen another of his shows at Recher Theater( did not bring camera). I was on a real mission to get this show, Ordered new camera and it arrived two days before the show. Spent all that time learning to operate the camera. Showed up at Artscape hour and a half early and still had to fight my way to the spot I shot from (ideal) The sound system was great and mixed real well. The band was real tight for this show. It took a lot of effort to get this. Part 1 is almost flawless- check it out- ruclips.net/video/KA_5G389qOs/видео.html
+James Lamb Saw him about five years ago in Manchester UK and I'm pleased to say, that he looks so much better health wise. He's doing his stuff and the band and entourage are just amazing...whats not to like, he's a bloody legend. Cheers for posting this :)
+Ka B Thanks ! It was a real project to get this, including buying a new camera with an excellent microphone. You might like my Bryan Ferry vid from a couple years ago- ruclips.net/video/To6tmli7E8U/видео.html
I saw these guys in australia in 2005.it was really good.Garry Shider was so cool.and they played songs like "shit godam" for like 20 minutes."KNee deep" ,fucking 30 minutes.it was such a great gig at bluesfest. and they just played until the plug was pulled.the head of blues fest-Peter Noble(or the manager that night but i think it was actually Peter Noble) apologised and told us verbally that they had to turn off the generators because legally they could not keep playing.they played for almost 3 hrs and did not stop until the power was turned off,and they didnt look tired, they wanted to keep playing.....P-funk are my favourite band of all time, they became that about 2 years ago when i really started to learn their songs forensically, but i always loved them.Glen Goins, Junie,Eddie Hazel, many others were also a huge part.Thank you for so much musical joy my brothers and sisters
Wish someone had tape the concert at the Capitol Center in Landover, MD., July 1978. The greatest concert ever. Slave, Rufus feat. Chaka Kahn, George Brown, Narada Micheal Walden, Rick James, and of course Dr. Funkenstine, Sir Nose DeVoid of Funk, and Sir George Clinton and the Gang. And he's gets off the Mothership with a big white robe on, opens it and is "BUCK NAKED." Best show ever in the history of concerts.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE! He's 75, today. George won't be touring much longer. Reach out and show love now. He is one of the greats and surely did a lot to embellish music history.
Did he say that? Because he said that he was touring because of the legal issues with his record label and so he needs to make ends meet by doing this for now
Steve Boyd and George Clinton gettin it in,,Pfunk Nation Big tracy and lil tracy keep the funk alive support live music this is the Cowboy ...Da klonz pFa lil tracy get it and promise to keep the funk
Very nice comment, DaMon ! I was thinking of getting a high end camera and when I heard Mr. Clinton was playing at Artscape I bit the bullet and spent the $2K. It arrived three days before the show which I spent learning all the buttons and controls. Only flaw was at about 19 minutes in I panned over to show "Tulani" the opening act in the crowd. Hit expanded focus by mistake so it is a bit blurry till I figured out what happened about 50 minutes in. Did not want to stop filming to correct it. The sound is flawless throughout though. I am surprised it turned out so good. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Michael Holland ...... Hello there my friend.... yes I did some looking up of Blackbryd’s history Ana was surprised that he played with Herbie back in the day.... I’m always checking out Byrd’s guitar skills on all the Parliament play list!! Thanks for sharing man.... stay safe and take care!! 😎🤘🏾
safe to say George Clinton is the greatest live entertainer ever Mj and prince and jb are incredible but this guy still smokes and has not lost a beat.
Many thanks to James Lamb I Will Add This Concert to My Parliment Funkadelic Collection -- I'm Really Impress Of How Many Funkateers Who Made It To Artscape In Baltiimore --- Who Says A Funk Band Can't Play Rock ?

I think Bernie may have co wrote that song and in doing so there may be performing rights issues when performing that song live, they have competent musicians who can play the lines so it may be about licensing which is everything now for example Maurice White and estate owns the name Earth, Wind and Fire the band had to pay licensing fees to him and or his estate to use the name when they tour as Earth, Wind and Fire, hope this helps with your question
I was there with my wife and sons. We couldn't SEE, but we could hear. We're GRATEFUL for the video, though! My sons are tweens, but I wanted them to be there to hear some of the stuff that they've been listening to by way of DAD and the movies. They recognized "Knee Deep" from "GOOD BURGER." (Hey, ya gotta start somewhere). I've been wondering about the personnel. Who's the cat with the deep scratchy voice who was doing the lead on the verses of "Knee Deep" and also doing the MCing at various points in the show?
+Odawg96 Thanks ! No body will know how muck work it took to film this. I got new high res camera two days before the show and had to learn how to operate it fast. Touched the digital zoom by mistake in the middle, accounting for the blurriness but did not want to stop filming to correct it. Figured out what happened about ten minutes before the end. Sound is the best I've heard on any of the YT vids, though. The guy in the black brimmed hat is Steve Boyd. The deepest voice is the guy with gray hair in the overalls, but I do not know his name. DON'T MISS PART 1
originalfunkyfry Are you sure? I thought Greg Boyer was that cat doing the scatting...Philippe Wynne's parts. When I saw them in Buffalo, he was the one who did it. I was asking about the guy with the HEAVY voice..."never missin' a beat...yeah!"
modifiedcontent Thank you. As the show went on, I was thinking the same thing. Re: the sound- , shot right next to sound engineers mike setup with Sony NEX-VG30H with Quad Capsule Spatial Array Microphone.
James Lamb I am totally addicted to this show/footage. The way it was filmed, mostly wide shot, you can see all these little things happening on stage. And you zoom and pan at the exact right moments, like when Sir Nose goes backstage to get the dancing dudes. Could you make the original audio, higher quality available? Using keepvid it looks like the video has 64/128 kbps audio. I want to try to make a mashup with other footage of this show, particularly Allen speedy Jackson's, which is very good as well, closer to the stage, but mostly clipped audio.
+Sanford Watts - Michael Hampton has been gone since early year. He either called it quits or there is something wrong. He sounds awful in footage of some of his last shows with p-funk. Does anyone know more?
