Espn leaked the MVP voting and we already know who’s going to be the NBA MVP.
Before diving into the results and revealing the winner, let me explain where this info comes from and why it’s 99% accurate.
Tim Bontemps is an ESPN analyst and every year, at different points of the season he does anonymous and informal polls among the media members who have votes, and gathers the results.
He would ask them how they feel about the MVP race early on around December, then around the All Star, and finally close to the end of the season.
This includes almost every single voter which makes this poll super reliable and relevant.
So, around Christmas, it’s interesting that Joel Embiid had a pretty sizable lead, and had he stayed healthy, I believe that he would have definitely won it back to back.
Then during the All Star break, with Embiid out, Nikola Jokic pulled ahead followed by SGA who jumped from the 4th spot right into a 2 man race against the Serbian.
Which brings us to the final poll of the season. What you’re about to see is 99% certain, so here it is.
Your 23-24 NBA Most valuable player is Nikola Jokic. You see that the lead is far too big, and 85 out of the 100 voters ranked him number 1, meaning that there would need to be some colossal change of events for voters to change their mind, and flip the order when they would officially fill their ballots.
But with Shai not even playing in the last 2 games, it’s more than safe to say that these results, at least for the winner, are final.
This would make Jokic only the 9th player in NBA history with 3 MVP awards, entering an elite company of NBA royalty.
I’m sure that he would be super hyped about this individual achievement as he always is.
Getting back to the list right here to focus on the rest of the group, I’m shocked that Luka was left out of the ballot 4 times. So he did not crack the top five in the eyes of 4 voters.
Similar thing with Giannis, he’s on 92 ballots, and 8 analysts did not have him in the MVP race.
With this out of the way, now we can fully focus on the playoff race which is absolutely chaotic this season. And Golden State are doing something that has the entire western conference worried. I break down everything in this video right here. Talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

The first year he won because Curry had a bad record. The 2nd year was his and last year was a coin's toss. This year though, it is undoubtedly Luka and it's a shame he won't win it. Luka has more voter fatigue than Jokic even before winning an award.

GA on #2 spot is pretty ridiculous. He is a very good player, but most valuable? OKC has too many good young pieces and he is their top scorer. Luka & Giannis do much more, Giannis on the defensive end as well, they deserve it more.

SGA has been top 3 all year. He's a much better defender than Doncic and almost his equal on offense without taking as many threes (more efficient scorer too). I'm European but to say SGA isn't worthy of 2nd is more of a joke.

@@maartenvz depth does not mean good starting 5. Depth is what comes when the starting five is tired, and the nuggets are the least deep team out of all the title favorites. They are probably going to play an 8 man rotation on the playoffs again.

I suggest everybody to check mvp tracker basketball reference, I think luka should be higher but he is not the mvp, his numbers are crazy but he is just not as impactuful right now, his on off stats kinda slow him down, jokic simply has had a more impactful season

I want players to play defense, have positive impact, and all that, but those things don't matter because it's what the voters think that matters.
I think the MVP will always go to the player that has the best clear cut stat line. It's not what I made it to be, I'm just the messenger, but i think that's what it is. And Luka is having the clear cut best stat line, but everyone is really moving the goal post when Luka is involved because they genuinely hate him of the narrative of being "slow, fat, white guy who plays no defense" shouldn't be the MVP while they happily give it Jokic. Despite impact, Luka literally has a better stat line than Jokic, but... Why is Jokic still ahead? Just because of impact?

As a Nuggets fan I obviously want Jokic to win, but the fact that some people didn’t even vote for Luka is criminal because Luka is obviously the closest to Jokic. Easily in 2nd place and I understand an argument for first. Unfortunately for Mavs fans, Jokic just had another historic season and deserves the MVP once again.

Bro Jokic won mvp as a 6th seed before, if Luka gets his mavs to atleast 5 seed why csnt they just give him the MVP? He is averaging an absurd 34/9/10 and shooting almost 50/40/90 splits, what a joke the NBA has become.
Because, when Jokic won at 6th seed there was no one better than him at seeds above, like now when he is better than Luka (advanced statistics) + that translate to winning 1-2 seed. Plus, that year Jokic didn't have Porter and Murray (played with players like Burton, Morris, Rivers, Campazo etc, almost all of them not in the league anymore), like now Luka have Irving, Hardaway etc... Simple as that.
