- If you're wondering what some graduates get paid, then this video is for you.
Keep in mind that I have no relevant work experience, no licence or a car. This video aims to make people aware of the various salaries that exist out there & that it is okay to work your way from the "bottom".
I enjoy the work I do and my channel is a place where I share my journey into adulthood.

Thank you for this. We tend to have the entitlement that "I deserve " more because of my qualifications. Needed to hear that starting at the bottom is totally okay.... Congratulations on your Masters💯
Thank you Keitu 🤗🤍
It is totally okay, we can only go up from the bottom.
I would like to begin by pointing it out how super proud I am about you for putting out that valued career info there. In addition I'm as well moved by your capacity to appreciate your current earnings wholeheartedly...... And that is good place to start as a graduate to eliminate unnecessary pressures from other people. However I'm saddened by the earning you're given, as a Current BSc in environmental sciences with Geology and Chemistry student I can hereby attest that some student get 5K for vacation work at various mining industries over University recess holidays and earn around 30 to 40 k upon junior emolyement. Hence I think is safe to conclude that Geology earnings are determined by the type of industry and company you working for with mining feild topping up the earning pyramid.
By the way you just earned yourself a new follower and subscriber for sharing intimate and honest career journey info.
Promise🤗 thank you for subscribing to my channel! I agree, it all depends on which field you end up in. Mining pays a lot, but some interns at mining companies still make less than 6k a month. However, I think what we all need is experience & over time we will hopefully earn more money. I liked where I worked but I could not survive on 9k, although the job was amazing.
I love the realism of this video.🥺 May doors continue to open for you.♥️♥️
Thank you Amanda❤️

Thank you for this. How was your experience studying Geohydrology? I’ve just been accepted for honours in Geohydrology
Hey Lelo, I really enjoyed studying it at honours and MSc level. It was a very hands on course and I learned a lot.
Congratulations doll🥰
Thank you so much doll 🤗🤍
What a very informative video!🔥
Just a few questions:1. What would you say is the average salary for an experienced Hydrogeologist?
2. Is Hydrogeology a scarce skill?
3. Would you recommend an undergraduate Geology student to study Hydrogeology?
Thank you,
It depends on where you work, for gvt, or a private company. Private companies pay more, but it depends on the size of the company.
There are a lot of factors to consider, but starting salaries range between 5k upwards, depends where you start.
As for experienced hydrogeologists +10 years, they do earn a good amount. I cant give numbers because I dont have any
It is a scarce skill, unfortunately job opportunities are also scarce.
I would recommend an undergrad geology student pursue hydrogeology/ geohydrology in honours yes
Can you do a video based on the different fields of geology, like petroleum geology, mining etc
I will make one, thank you for the idea Muele
Our girl from Institute For Groundwater Studies, im Currently enrolled for BSc.Hons
I hope you are enjoying it😌
@@Reholile too much😁😁looking forwad to field trip
Hey can you make a video on bursaries and even science councils that might be of advantage
❤❤
Hey. May I ask if you funded your masters through a bursary. And if so, which one and how can I go about the application for it.
I'd like to do my LLM at UFS
Hey doll, I received funding from the UFS, I had a postgrad research bursary from my faculty (Natural and Agricultural Sciences) to the value of 15k. It only covered my academic fees.
This is a bursary that I was eligible to apply for since I did not have NRF or any other funding
It’s now 2024, did your salary increase?
Lol hey Nathi, yes it has
@@Reholile how much now?
How many years does it take to become a Geohydrologist??
Hey Success,
A four year degree (including honours)
@@Reholile
Thank you 😘😁
IS THERE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GEOHYDROLOGY AND HYDROLOGY?
Hi Enoch, Geohydrology focuses on groundwater and surface water. Hydrology mainly focuses on surface water.
@@Reholile I see. thanks alot. i will keep u in tough. i want to know more.
@@enochkgobalala4256 that's okay
Hi there, hope you’re well. ❤
How did you join the Water Research Commission program? I am really struggle to get experience.
Hey there,

@@Reholile BSc Hons Geology.
@@esietamakloe okay, please ask Water GEP on Facebook when applications are opening for the WRC Water GEP programme

@@Reholile thank you so much ❤️
Heyy, if one would like to ask more detailed questions and advice are your DM's available🥺last year I was doing HCT in Water Treatment and this year I'm currently doing my first year in Diploma in Water science and technology
Hey Owethu my dms are open, on tiktok or insta, you’re welcome to ask questions
Do hydrologist have better job opportunities?
Honestly we are struggling in South Africa 🧘🏽♀️ things are not going well
What should we take after 10th to become a hydrologist 😕?
Sorry, I don’t understand your question
@@Reholile Should we give any entrance exam for this?
@@crazymastilovers1778 there is no entrance exam to become a hydrologist or geohydrologist in South Africa
You just need the qualification and the relevant experience
@@Reholile ok,but what are the criteria for the qualification?...What should we do after our 12th?
@@crazymastilovers1778 you should study a BSc in Geology or a BSc in Hydrology at a University
