Wonderful podcast Sarah and Paige! Love your new haircut Paige, it looks fabulous on you. Two fibres I haven’t tried yet are Possum and Yak and would LOVE to 😊 I did just purchase and swatched yarn from Sonder Yarn Co., it is a gorgeous and soft blend of 65% BFL, 25% Masham, and 10% Cashmere. Using the Masham and Cashmere will be knew to me. I can’t wait to see your Book Club Cardigan Sarah, it’s in my queue along with almost everything Sari designs lol. Have a great day and thanks for a chance 💓

I've been following you two almost from the start and I always get excited when I see a notification from your channel, keep it up! Two of my favorite yarns are Holst Supersoft for its wide range of colors and it's really good for colorwork, and another would be Sandnes Garn Sunday for its versatility and softness.

Paige - that bow vest is **chef's kiss** and love that green border/general colour choices. So for context, I'm originally from Perth, lived in Melbourne briefly too...BUT now briefly in thr States: Thought of you girls today, went to my new "local" yarn store (lol took an uber for 30mins), and thought I'd died and gone to yarn heaven. They had hand dyes from local makers, knitting for olive, sandnes garne (they had POPPY in autumn in stock??!!), Jamieson's, Biches et Bouches, Noro (so many lines!!), i bought Sarah's Mykt Til Dame book (sorry, not sorry, so influenced), plutolopi and all these wheels of unspun yarn, aahhh and so many more. I was totally unprepared because their insta and website are still a work in progress. Have to go back with a game plan. Still have flutters thinking about it 😍

Very happy to see another upload as always, and loving your Clay Sweater, seems so cosy for the season ! I'm not sure I have a favorite yarn, but I sure Leo to pick up some locally dyed yarn when possible, and I just got a super nice Cashmere Merino blend yarn from one of my favorite dyers, hoping to make the cutest little pink hat for next winter !

So interesting to hear what you said about the possum yarn, so good to be able to learn more about where our different yarns come from. Love the energy you both have. I love adding mohair to my items and even though I haven't been knitting for that long I love Isager's Mohair, it feels very luxurious.

I loved your explanation on the possum story. I haven't knitted with possum, but have had a plan to knit a cardigan/jacket with it this winter. I live in N.Z. and yes possums are a big problem, eating all the fruit off my trees! I have alpacas and love to blend their fibre with silk and spin that for knitting accessories and garments. I love your podcast and your enthusiasm for knitting all the things!

I so enjoy seeing your WIPs, and how you each have such different styles or approaches to your knitting projects. So excited for the KAL! I'm still learning about knitting fibres, but so far, I prefer a more rustic yarn that gets loftier after blocking. Some Briggs & Little Regal (Canada) is a go-to for outerwear cardis for me.

All the hats you have knitted recently have me so inspired - even though it's summer here they're such a lightweight and easy knit, I think I might be casting on my own two color musselburgh soon!
Was also super cool to learn more about the possum yarn - Ive never used it myself but would love to! I really love knitting with wools and alpaca, but I've recently picked up a silk yarn from purl soho and I'm absolutely loving it for the summer!

I get so excited every time I see that you have posted a video!
I am still new to knitting so I haven't gotten to try too many yarns yet, but I do know that fiber-wise I prefer wool fibers to cotton-- I love the way wool changes when you block it, and how it feels afterwards. I also have a new obsession with variegated and speckled, hand-dyed yarns but haven't narrowed down my wish-list to which one I will try first. Really curious about Hedgehog Fibers colors, they are so beautiful!

As a relatively new knitter i haven't gotten around to trying out that many different yarns, but my favorite so far has been this 40% merino, 30% silk and 30% yak blend that i got from a local indie dyer. It feels soooo luxe and created the most beautiful drape~

I’ve only gotten into natural fibers in the last couple years, and so far a 100% merino has been my favorite! I have a special skein of hand dyed sock yarn that I’m going to be getting into shortly and I’m so excited. I also need to cast on my book club cardigan, I have some yarn in stash that I think will work. I’m just trying to decide if I should be responsible and finish the cable cardigan I already have on the needles. 👀 I’m very intrigued by the possum yarn from New Zealand! Thank you so much for the possum information/education. I had wondered about the ethical side of things. I also didn’t realize it was different from the opossum here in the US. Paige, I am so so happy for you! I know how big of a deal this is. Enjoy your freedom! My favorite yarn combo is merino and alpaca, but right now I’m knitting with kelbourne woolens scout and am really loving it. I want to try a yak blend soon (and now possum).

My favorite yarn to date that I’ve used is KnitPicks Palette, which is 100% Peruvian Highland wool. It’s so surprisingly soft to the touch, and softer than other PHW yarns I’ve used. It does pill, but not as bad as other yarns and it feels nice to wear so I don’t care too much! Basic but beautiful!

Thank you for the interesting possum fiber information! I live in Minnesota in the states and there have been many invasive species, such as carp, that have devastated the lakes and have to be culled. It is nice when they can find a use for them-like dog food. I like to use merino since I have sensitive skin but I also enjoy using blow yarns. They do make such light, warm sweaters and vests!

Nice episode as always! I love to knit with cozy wool like Isager Soft but unfortunately the weather here in Florida does not give me too many opportunities to wear it. Love your videos! I was really interested to hear more about possum fibre as I'd never heard of this before I started watching your channel. I don't have a favorite yarn really as I'm just getting back into knitting after a very long break (I learned to knit as a child and just used whatever I could get at the local stores, so nothing very fancy). I tend to gravitate towards really soft, fuzzy yarns, so like most anything that is marketed for baby blankets and clothing. I'm excited to branch out of my comfort zone though and try all the different options. I've been looking at Alpaca yarns lately and trying to figure out some choices for some projects I'm looking at. I'll have to give the cardigan KAL a go! Wishing you both a lovely day!

Congratulations on the Zealana yarn, Sarah! When I went back home to New Zealand for the first time in 10 years in February, I picked up a couple balls and immediately casted on a Sophie scarf with the Kauri fingering in ‘Kiwicrush’. It’s so unique and gorgeous. I love that there’s this beautiful way of saving Aotearoa while providing Knitters with delight.
Since I picked up a few balls from my trip of various NZ yarn, I’m excited to start casting on with Brushtale, an upcycled merino possum blend from the fibres of clothing that didn’t quite make it.

I've only just discovered your podcast in the last month or so, and am so happy to find some lovely fellow Aussie knitters! 😊
I mostly have experience with knitting with Bendigo Woollen Mills, wool and cotton which I really enjoy. I was surprised by how soft, cool to the touch and lovely to knit with the cotton is to work with. Which worked out well as I made the Stripe Hype Dress by Kutovakika 😂
But the wool I'm loving the most is some wool that I was gifted by my family a couple of Christmases ago, which is actually a possum blend! It's Supreme Possum Merino, 40% possum, 50% merino and 10% silk ❤ It's so soft and lovely to work with. I ended up making a self drafted vest with side ties.

Several things, first of all: congratulations Paige, I'm confident you've passed! I bought the pattern and I am THIS close to buying mohair ... HELP (Let's face it the book club cardigan is the nicer pattern, I am still in charge of my decisions and am owning them) Will head over to rav now to nail the yarn purchase by looking at everybody else's yarn 🤓

I'm a recent convert to non-superwash yarns and I particularly really love a wool/alpaca blend, although I do have a ball of the fingering weight Kauri in my stash so I'm open to becoming a possum fibre convert too 🧶

Thanks for the detailed explanation of possum fiber! My favorite yarn is really squishy, non superwash merino, like Brooklyn Tweed Imbue.

I’m currently working with a new to me base that is a merino and silk blend. It’s so smooth and amazing, quickly becoming a favorite already!

Hi from New Zealand, Sarah and Paige. Really enjoy your podcasts. You bounce off each other really well and it’s so funny to watch how excited you get about each other’s projects. I love knitting with possum yarn. It’s super soft and warm with a delicious halo.

I immediately put the Book Club cardigan in my queue when Sarah announced the KAL! I've just started knitting less than a year ago and I have to say I'm currently using Tynn Peer Gynt from Sandnes Garn and loving the knitting experience. I've also read that it holds up quite well, so I'm looking forward to that.

Love the podcast as always. Love reading the comments too and seeing what yarns people favour. I like non superwash wooly yarns for jumpers etc that wear well and don’t pill. I generally use the merino or other soft fibres for shawls and hats. My workhorse go tos are KnitPicks Palette (especially for colourwork) and Holst Supersoft. Also love Rowan Felted Tweed just for the gorgeous flecks colours and it’s soft but wears well imo. Also partial to all yarns Isager cos of the way they combine.
And Sarah, my row gauge is always off!, usually I get less rows than stipulated! 😟
As you say, it often doesn’t matter but I do get a bit sick of adjusting for it. It’s a total mystery to me.

Thank you for checking and then sharing the information about the possum yarn. It's important to be ethical in our shopping choices. I am currently working with an alpaca/ lambswool blend held double with a silk mohair. So loads of animals haha!! The combination is like a cloud ❤

Thanks for sharing about the possum yarn, it was really interesting! My favorite yarn right now is merino wool. It's so versatile and works up beautifully. I'm still new to knitting and loving the process of discovering new yarns along the way.

Well helloooo! I am sitting here with coffee and knitting on my book club cardigan as I type! For my cardi I’m holding de rerum natura gilliatt with knitting for olive mohair. Both in an off-white shade:-)). To answer your question, some favourite fibers are cormo and BFL. That being said I saw and squished some merino/possum skeins from a Tasmanian dyer who was at Knit City Toronto a few weeks back. Louie & Lola yarns. TDF!!!

I love anything super soft and drapey. Alpaca and silk with some cashmere is luxurious! I also love using just a nice merino wool. I love your podcast! I’m excited about the knitalong and the giveaway! Honestly, that bag is spectacular too! Love the color! Thank you for posting such fun episodes.😊

Literally stoked for this KAL! I haven’t been able to try tons of different types of yarn yet since I mostly acquire through thrifting, but I love alpaca wool! Only gotten to work with it a little bit but fell in love so fast :) thanks for the great pod! Love your dynamic! it’s fun to be let in on your knitting chat ❤

Was so interested to hear about Possum fibre. I've been seeing it more and wondering about the source. How generous of Zealana! I'd absolutely love to knit with it. Currently my favourite is Alpaca for the softness and drape.

Thank you so much for sharing more about the possum fiber! I always love learning more about different fibers and the industry in different countries! Right now I am loving holding Knitting for Olive merino and their cashmere together! I have always loved their merino and the cashmere just gives it that extra softness!

I recently took a trip to New Zealand and I loooove the yarn I got there - including the possum ones! It's among my favorite yarn I ever bought. I will say though, that I was lucky enough to take a trip to Norway the previous summer, and it is like the battle of the yarn vacations - Norwegian wool is also just so freaking amazing

Loved the video! My current favorite yarn is Illimani Sabri. Its 85% cotton 15% Alpaca fingering weight yarn. Currently making the miles tee by ozetta with it and im obsessed! It's so soft and so easy to work with. I'll definitely be coming back to it in the future!

Love your ideas and joy of knitting. I love knitting alpaca from local farms in the natural colors of the animals, meeting the animal, and knowing the animal's name. Favorite is a chocolate brown alpaca in North Carolina named Carlton. He is so fluffy.

You two are just the bees knees! Always such a lovely watch. My current fav yarn to knit with is Camellia Fiber Co. Flax Fingering. Perfect for Texas summers that last 6 months! The blend of alpaca, linen, and silk is just 🤌🏻. Second runner up is Isager Alpaca 1 for all the reasons you talked about 😍

I've never worked with a yarn with possum in it. I'm so intrigued. I used to work with mostly superwash yarns, but over the last year or so I've started using 100% wool, more rustic, and I'm loving it!

Thank you for explaining about possum yarn because it threw me when you said that…. lol, but I am in the US so my mind didn’t picture the right animal 😅. I’ll have to go google what they look like. I love a good blend of anything with cashmere followed by alpaca. You guys are too cute and really enjoy your excitement for knitting!

I'm really into cotton/linnen blends at the moment, but I find it hard to find them at a small gauge so unmercerized cotton has also been on my radar!

The way you are excited about your own and each others projects is just absolutely heartwarming!
Also, possum fibre as a yarn ingredient sounds super interesting. I am a huge fan of natural fibres and basically only knit with those. Right now, my favourite yarns for the summer here in Denmark are Lang Yarns "Vaya" (74% cotton, 16% extrafine merino wool and 10% yak; so soft, so airy and soo drapy - absolutely loving it) and some old Aarlan silk by H.E.C. (50% silk and 50% wool) that I got from my grandma's stash and that I am currently knitting up into the 9pm tank by tiffknit 😇
Please continue as you do, you two are very inspiring!

Thank you for including the information about the possum fibre, as an Australian I was curious about the ethics of this so really appreciate the research & explanation! At the moment my favourite yarn to knit with is a beautiful alpaca/polwarth undyed blend from Adiago mills.
