There's a little beatbox/singing at the end of their version of We Don't Talk About Bruno. This is the third arrangement of this song that Layne has done. Eli said that doing this one without going back to the arrangement they used to do in their live shows. Of course, in those days he was singing second tenor, now he sings first tenor. Great reaction!!
Love this. The cookies is correct. Who knew? I felt like Louis Armstrong came down and loaned J None his jazz voice. I know J None can do it but it was fun to hear the late great Satchmo get involved! You mentioned snowfall, 30 yrs ago or so near Gainesville FL we got a new neighbor from Chicago. He opted to get a new riding mower and sold us his old one. Part of the low price was we had to take all of the extra parts and one of those was a snow blower. We got ribbed by so many people - never did have a use for the snow blower. I've lived in Florida for 73 yrs and only had one snowfall back in 1959 in Jacksonville.
Haha! Yes, we've had one snowfall that was anything significant here, but the kids had a BLAST and the city was shut down. Most lost power (thankfully we didn't) and everyone lost their minds. I grew up with regular winters my entire life... so it wasn't anything crazy to me... but Austin doesn't have the infrastructure for it. I don't miss shoveling snow that's for sure!
The beatbox/singing may be your favorite pat, but I love when J. None pays tribute to Louis Armstrong with those vocals near the end. Layne did the arrangement on this one. Apparently, they used to perform this live in their pre-pandemic touring days. One of the previous arrangements is on one of their Christmas CDs from that time. Always good to see J. back with the guys. He does a great Louis Armstrong tribute. Layne had a new toy to use for this one...they used a robotic arm with multiple cameras. Eli had to connect his computer with the lighting cues to the robotic arm’s computer to sync everything up. This one was so fun! "Carol of the Bells," Geoff's solo Christmas release also dropped this month and is awesome; it looks like it will top 1M views sometime this month. Judging from his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage! LOL Merry Christmas!

Oh yeah, the Louis Armstrong bit was spectacular! And yes, Austin is rarely very cold. We do get below freezing on occasion... but rarely 😄

Layne's performance was exceptionally good. I've never heard him singing and beatboxing at the same time. I think he's being underestimated.
