    This is great, thanks for posting! Is this an opportunity for some of the young men and women who are not competing to showcase what they have been working on?

      Crazy considering the fact that they bombed the hell out of pearl harbor. Some things are hard to get over.

      @ssky - You do realize that halau hula from Japan, the US mainland + other countries are *invited* by the Merrie Monarch execs to participate in showcases + other events, as here? If not, please do some research before posting comments like you did above.

      @dorseylandria6119 5 лет назад +1

      Yeahhhhh.Full stop. When I go to a hula competition, I want to see hawaiians or polynesians. Not asians.

    • @ssky3s
      @ssky3s 5 лет назад

      It pisses me off.
      These dances should only be done by Polynesians.
      I don’t want to see japanese bullshit when I click on a video for Hawaii.

    • @deia838
      @deia838 4 года назад +1

      Piro piro I agree, but you also have to remember some Polynesians aren't just Hawaiians. They can be Hawaiian and Chinese, or Hawaiian and Japanese. I may not look like it but I'm Hawaiian-Chinese just like my cousin and she has an Asian appearance. Not everyone in these videos are going to look "Polynesian."
