They're all so sweet, and talented and beautiful!! I think these Children come from their mother's womb dancing the hula!! Bless all the dancers, young and old ,men and women!! These ladies look so beautiful and graceful!!
Only the Thu-Sat competition to my knowledge will be live streamed over the internet: www.k5thehometeam.com/category/323774/2017-merrie-monarch-festival
Kahale Ishikawa I live in Michigan. My Father is from Hilo...He's been gone 20yrs now. The Festival and music, makes me miss him so much more.. But I get to connect with all of the Great People of Hawaii..... Mahalo and Aloha! Any help if it continues to buff tomorrow?
This is great, thanks for posting! Is this an opportunity for some of the young men and women who are not competing to showcase what they have been working on?
@ssky - You do realize that halau hula from Japan, the US mainland + other countries are *invited* by the Merrie Monarch execs to participate in showcases + other events, as here? If not, please do some research before posting comments like you did above.
Piro piro I agree, but you also have to remember some Polynesians aren't just Hawaiians. They can be Hawaiian and Chinese, or Hawaiian and Japanese. I may not look like it but I'm Hawaiian-Chinese just like my cousin and she has an Asian appearance. Not everyone in these videos are going to look "Polynesian."

Heard about this from a good friend of mine and this is so wonderful.
Wow, Japanese culture is sure making its way into Hawaiian culture
Crazy considering the fact that they bombed the hell out of pearl harbor. Some things are hard to get over.
*ruining
I’m thinking the exact same thing!
more asians then native hawaiians
Yeah .I noticed that.
It’s disgusting

Japanese hula stop!
piro piro I agree, they have their own culture.
just like the filipinos acting like there native hawaiians
Yeahhhhh.Full stop. When I go to a hula competition, I want to see hawaiians or polynesians. Not asians.
It pisses me off.
These dances should only be done by Polynesians.
I don’t want to see japanese bullshit when I click on a video for Hawaii.
