I came back after 15 years later to find out who's the actual singer during my childhood. I shed my tears for the digimon ost and while searching for him I found out that he passed away, R. I. P. Wada Kouji. Thanks for making my childhood awesome!

Nani ga wow wow wow woooooooww... I've been listening to this song for over 10 years now, and I still occasionally want to cry to it ;_____; Don't even get me started on the piano version.
They made up their own theme songs for literally EVERY show back then haha. Pokemon, Sailormoon, Yugioh, Beyblade, Medabots, Cardcaptors, Hamtaro, Dragonball Z, etc.....this is why I didn't even know my favourite childhood shows were 'animes' for so long.
@@wizardwomon1181 Here in Spain we got a translated/adapted versión of Butterfly. Not really a literal translation, but the same tune with new lyrics. That way kids could understand the words and it still sounded pretty good.
@@andressigalat602 I heard! I have a latino friend and she hates the English dub songs with a passion cause she grew up with the Japanese songs, just translated. Growing up with the dub, I sometimes feel conflicted. For Digimon, Butterfly is way better than "Digimon, digital monsters, Digimon are the champions" repeated over a rap. But then there are English openings for some series like Cardcaptors and Pokemon that just get me so hyped, and the Japanese one sounds dull in comparison. The Beyblade's English soundtrack is so epic, and I personally really love Switchblade, Underdog, Never Gonna Take Me Down and so on, but I have yet to hear other Japanese songs from the series, so I can't make a fair comparison. I've noticed though that more recent anime don't get their openings dubbed so that's a win! Back then, I think Inuyasha was the only one on TV that had it's original opening.
@@wizardwomon1181 The version your friend got is probably not the same I got, as Latin America and Spain get different dubs, but the idea is the same. Worse than the changed songs, are the cuts and editions most animes suffered back then. I've not seen "Cardcaptors", but I'm told it was cut and edited so bad, it was a totally different series than "Cardcaptor Sakura".

@@Telepi.Gyerek this and brave heart are absurdly emotional to me. digimon was always cheesy for being as emotional as possible, but damn do they a great job at it. i cried rewatching digimon this year so many times. first episode where all digimon put life on tle line in the first day, patamon becoming jesusmon and sacrificing himself to save everyone, taichi realising they can die while trying to save sora, joey being the hero who triggered yamatos friendship crest, soras crest shinng when she realises her mother loved her the way she loves pyomon, wizardmon sacrifice to save her best and only friend tailmon, and also, the message in butterfly and brave heart.

Hello! Different sites have different translations, they usually try to pick the best word for the context of that sentence. 'Gikochinai' is the word in question since it comes right before Tsubasa which means wings. Google translate says it can mean "awkward, clumsy, stiff, crude, unrefined, constrained". So I think I chose that translation as it stood more true. For the first and last chorus, the word in question is 'Tayorinai' which could mean "unreliable, undependable, flaky, vague, helpless". I chose unreliable, but could be fragile in that sense. I know for lyric translations, many sites copy from each other. I'm only intermediate in Japanese, so even I used some help from different sites, but used my knowledge and dictionaries to pick, what I thought, was the best translation that would still make the most sense to the reader :)
There's a sense of "same feel". Awkward wings can be fragile. Awkward wings are unreliable as you can't fly just yet until you figure out how to use them or gather strenght into them. So really, it doesn't change the meaning after all in any context. :)
@@Insanitypup weak wings wouldn't be able to fly at all in my opinion. Awkward implies it's possible, but they're just shaky and unstable. A butterfly's or bird's first flight will be awkward cause they're not use to flying, but their wings are strong enough to fly. A toddler's first steps are wobbly and shaky, they may fall a few times, but they can walk with practice. Make note that one chorus uses 'unreliable', and 'awkward' is similar, so they are used interchangeably. A plane with weak wings should not leave the ground, they wouldn't be able to fly at all, or if they did try, their wings may just break off and they'll crash. On the other hand, a plane with unreliable or awkward wings is capable of flying, but it's risky, they COULD crash........but the song is saying, even though these wings are like that, 'I'm sure we can fly safely with/on his love'. ^_^
