Just like that the two greatest launches in the world are gone forever. I never got to experience Ka or Dragster and I’ll forever regret going to SFGAD in the winter when Ka was closed. I could’ve done it 😢
I remember watching that documentary as a kid at my Grandparents house. It was my number one bucket list coaster and I looked forward to flying over from the UK to ride that thing. I think I’ll always have a part of me that’s incredibly sad that I didn’t get to ride Ka. I’ve never been to a Six Flags park and after the way they’ve handled this closure I don’t think I ever will now.
When I was a kid I printed out a very pixualated picture (printers back then😂) of kingda ka, it was taped to my wall of pride in my room. Ive always dreamed about riding it. I am from the Netherlands and not having any friends who are into themeparks and rollercoasters like me, it never came to a trip to the US to ride the king of coasters. At this very moment Iam planning to visit the US on my own, not specifically for coasters or themeparks (still will visit a couple😊) but I was close. The dreams of Kingda Ka will hopefully always be faster and taller then reality😢.
I’m a new coaster enthusiast and I’m so bummed that it closed when I was planning to ride it next year 😔, but I get that the park is doing it for the better and I’m thankful that your channel was one of the first to confirm this to the public giving us an heads up, thank you coaster studios and rest in peace kingda ka, the king of all coaster 🪦💚

I’m quite sad that I never got to experience this legendary coaster. I truly understand and respect how much this coaster meant to many people who have experienced it the past 19 years of its operational life
One of the best decisions I ever made was to go to Great Adventure summer of 2023. Got my first rides on Ka and little did I know at the time, my last.
I can say I am very happy that I got to ride Kingda Ka a few times in the very beginning back in 2005 when the ride was brand new. And yes it was definitely a thrilling ride, but for how short the actual ride is compared to how long you had to wait in line to ride it, just wasn't worth it for me to continue to ride it more times again. However, I am excited for whatever comes next which supposedly is going to even break Kingda Ka's records. It is going to be weird once they start taking the ride down, that I won't be able to see the very top of the coaster and the blinking red light anymore from my place of work.
I was worried that this coaster was gonna be taken down without a proper send off. Thanks guys! ❤❤ hope to catch y’all out there amongst the GP someday 😊

Rode it 17 times, so grateful I got to experience this along with Top Thrill Dragster in its glory days. These hydraulic launches were truly special, it's highly unlikely something like Ka or Dragster will ever be built again. One thing I just thought about and I don’t know if you or anyone else has mentioned it, but I wonder if the former Cedar Fair executives also wanted to get rid of Ka as it’s effectively a clone of Dragster and was the ride that took Dragster’s records away… I know that wasn’t the main reason but I imagine that could have been a factor too
