As far as I know, the statue's origins are unknown. Some versions of CD have an achievement that calls it an angel statue, but otherwise it's a mystery.
@@J14theghost The statue's sparked conversations like this before, but it isn't the only thing to do so. I was personally most interested in Stardust Speedway's 'temple'.

@@CyanicCore So sadly it wasn't explained, little planet had a Civilization, at least we know that because of this statue
