Great podcast! After managing a large vacation property for ten years and having a new batch of guests every weekend, I totally get the "don't sweat the toothpaste" saying.
You can drive yourself mad trying to figure out why some people do some things. It took a minute but I came to the conclusion that these people work hard all of their lives and they often only get away once or twice a year to forget about their daily grind for weekend.
My job is to make sure that they have everything they need and that they are glad that they chose our property. 80% of them are return guests every year. That number would be higher if there were more weekends per season.
I love my job, it's a bummer that the owners of this property are going to be moving in come July. I will be giving Sliver Lake Resort & Campground a call once I become nomadic.

@@whynotwander You’re very welcome. This is a subject that I’m very interested in. Hopefully there’ll be a podcast on health care & health insurance options. That’s our greatest fear at the moment about going full time & trying to work from the road.

I only live like an hour from silver lake and I have never been there! I think that workampers are super important in such a short seasonal location like michigan. Local people cant make a living in such a short season which is where the workamping program comes into play! I need to go check this place out and say you sent me!

How cool that you live so close! It is a great area! Have you been to Ludington and/or Pentwater? We love so many places along the coast! You'll love it there, and definitely tell them we said, "Hi!" They are a great group of people who truly care about their guests and employees! Thanks so much for watching!
