The most Christmassy fragrance of all time is easily house of matriarch Sacre noir. It's got pine or fir, Holly, Christmas spices, dried fruits, a little bit of incense, and more. It's fantastic
Wow, what a fantastic coincidence! I just ordered samples of Zagorsk and Hinoki yesterday! Wasn't thinking at all of "Christmassy", but there you go! They'll be waiting for me at home in Texas, just in time for the holiday. How delightful.
I layer Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors with Marshmallow and Incense by Ganache - so I can smell like roasting marshmallows over the fire while I'm camping in a pine forest...I always love your Christmas countdown! xoxo
Fille en Anguilles is my fellah’s favorite scent on me. I wear it year ‘round and am so glad I bought a couple backups before the price went way up. We both love hiking and pick balls of pine resin to bring home and burn in my bakhoor burner. It’s the closest thing to pine trees heating up under a blazing sun to me. Glad you picked it as #1.
A lovely smorgasborg of fragrances! Great call on Forest Lungs. I honestly didn't know that anybody knew about it. Big fan of BVPH, Cape Heartache, Idyllwild and Fille en Aiguilles. Interestingly enough, I layered BVPH with last year's True Leather from Zara and it totally gave me Russian Leather vibes. Perhaps an even more interesting version. Really wish pine would make a comeback in modern designer perfumery. I miss the Tsars and Polos from yesteryear.
Amazing about Forest Lungs! Just heard about it last week from another YTer, the lovely Michele Wang, who purchased to try for the “stress relief”. Words out now that Sebastian is on it 👍🏼
Thanks for this! I really love woods, pine, and fir. Everyone always suggests Cape Heartache, and I absolutely cannot stand that frag because I find that fake strawberry note in it to be so offensive, so I am glad to have a much longer list from you. I really want to test Spell 125 and Forest Lungs and Winter Nights. I used to have Fille en Ainguilles and I used it all and haven't repurchashed because I'm annoyed that they increased the price so much!
Winter Nights is magnificent. Childhood memories in a bottle. Smoky smooth sweet awesomeness. Great list as per usual. 🖤🎄 Edit: Forest Lungs is terrific too. 👍
I need to douse myself in Forest Lungs. It sounds even better than taking an Ativan 😄 Cape Heartache has quickly become one of my favorites. I particularly like smelling it on my husband.
Ecstasy by Tiziana Terenzi is by far the total Christmas scent for me. It has spruce and pine in the tops and incense in the mids, (alomg with rose, patchouli and violet), and woods, amber and tonka in the base. I have Bottega Veneta and Russian Leather, and like them both, but Ecstasy smells far more like Christmas to me and I bought the matching candle. But my sister hates it, so "Ecstacy" might be a bit of exaggeration. So I highly recommend it, but try before you buy.
Ordered Forest Lungs today, really hope it works for me. Please review the rest of The Nue Co fragrances. Functional fragrance is also on my wish list.
The Winter series by Dasein was surprisingly good, my expectations weren't very high since my introduction to the house was through Summer by Dasein (notes include: grapefruit, plastic, headache). Unrelated to the Woody resinous scents you've so beautifully and articulately put together, but ELDO's Noel au Balcon smells like pure Christmas to me. It is nostalgic and sweet and even somewhat kitschy and def one of my favorites during the holidays!
I just picked up MB’s Jubilant Pine and Patchouli (as well as Muddled Plum - both holiday offerings). I agree with your assessment. On me, the patchouli stands out followed by a beautifully festive dry down. The pine is there but it’s overshadowed by the patchouli and holiday spices.
Thanks for this! I look forward to exploring some of these. The one I would have added to the list is Tom Ford - Vert d’Encens which has notes of pine and balsam fir.
I'm seeking for pine fragrances after crossing a wonderfull pine tree forest this summer. It was such a powefull olfactive and visual experience back then ! Thank you for this wonderfull review, it will definety helps ! 💚
I know this is a "smells like Christmas" list but since you mentioned Histoires De Parfums, I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE 1740 Marquis De Sade. It is by far my favorite leather forward fragrance. It's SOOOOO good. I love Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache. On my skin, the strawberry note is very pronounced and lends an irresistible sweetness to the foresty vibe.
Have you tried Slumberhouse's Mond yet? It doesn't have pine in it, but it's perfectly autumnal, wintery, cozy to me. I bought a bottle after sampling from Lucky Scent.
Hi Sébastien, if possible could you please do a list of updated best woman perfumes cheapies and designer. Love to watch your videos! Cheers from Canada.
I have been waiting for a list like this for a long time! Thank you! 🙏 I've had a big crush on Russian Leather for a long time, but when I tested it on my skin it smelled great but disappeared in a few hours... I went from crushing to just crushed... 😭 I suppose I should revisit it, but I can't justify its price tag with such dismal performance... 😞 There's a bunch of others here that I now want to try! 🙂 I've tried and also loved Houbigant's Bois Mysterieux, though it seemed similarly cursed by rather weak performance... Do you have any opinion about it? One of the few pine-y ones I have is DS&Durga's Amber Teutonic! Love it on cold and dry winter days! 😁 Have you tried it? Thoughts? Thanks for another great video, Sebastian! 👍
I tried MB Jubilent Pine today and really liked it. Thanks for talking about Molton Brown. I live in London and love that brand. Obvs I'm buying forest lungs after what you said.
Hi I just featured the Pine and Patchouli along with three other Molton Brown Fragrances in my Black Friday Sales Fragrance Haul Video here: ruclips.net/video/5zESg4Hw8_o/видео.html I do enjoy Molton Brown! :)
My personal favorite fragrance of all times which I believe is also quite Christmasy is Tom Ford‘s Vert d‘encens. I‘m really sad it‘s been discontinued, I really treasure the last little bit I have left. Perhaps anyone knows a similar fragrance? Apart from that, great video as always and greetings from Germany
Hi sebastian! Love this list.just got a tiziana terenzi called lillipur noone talks about it i quite like it.insency with star anise.wondering if your familiar with it. Happy holidays from Tennessee.!!
Happy to see my all times favourite- Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles (girl with needles) taking the 1st place:) I love pine scents, Tiziana Terenzi has a nice take with Ecstasy as well, not completely pine forward but beautiful mix... Can you comment on how the new formulation of Aiguilles performs? The old one was good with moderate performance, now being 3 times more expensive I've heard its much weaker, whats your experience?
@@ThePerfumeGuy yeah that what i thought but winter nights I couldn't find. I remember you did a video with it a year ago and I tried looking around for it...i just check yeah they are taking pre order for it. Hopefully the juice remains the same and not powered down
SOOO many perfumes behind you, cool! I've just posted a Christmas video and it's a collective list of Christmas scents! Loved your choices got my Christmas tree today but it doesn't smell much so I guess it needs to be scented:)
Sebastian: you gave me far too many fragrances to add to my wishlist. I find Pino Silvestre and Agua Brava very piney, and Oud by Piguet having a strong fir and earth note.
I was so excited for City on Fire, until I sampled it. It smells like cheap bbq sauce. I like bbq sauce, but this isn't the good kind. I'm sad I don't like it because it sounded like a wonderul wood fire scent for winter.
@@ThePerfumeGuy it’s more of a Christmas smell but does not go in line with this video because the fragrance does have a pine like smell but there isn’t any mention of a pine note. 👊🏻
Wow that fragrance sounds so good and fresh and aromatic. But sadly I never got to sample it so I cannot offer any suggestions. But darn I missed a good one it seems like.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Thanks for presenting Goutal Nuit Etoilé. This is such a uniqe and very good smelling parfume i wouldn't have discovered without this (and the other pine parfume) video It's pretty expensive but worth the price because it's very special 😊

Oh, so that's that settled then. Praise be for Thy Nose and Thine Infinite Fragrance Collection.
My birthday is on Christmas Day and I love wearing Serge Lutens Arabie, it's so gooey and delicious.
For me, it's Norne by Slumberhouse (2012). Pine needle, Lichen, Fern, Moss, Hemlock and Frankincense. So good!
I don't own it but yes I have heard! :)
Wow, what a fantastic coincidence! I just ordered samples of Zagorsk and Hinoki yesterday! Wasn't thinking at all of "Christmassy", but there you go! They'll be waiting for me at home in Texas, just in time for the holiday. How delightful.
Happy holidays!
Fascinating about Forest Lungs. Extremely intriguing.... I'm all for stress-relief!
If I splurge while in the States, I think Forest Lungs will be it. I am seriously intrigued.
Arabie, Fille en Anguilles, Bracken for man and Russian Leather are my go to’s for Christmas.
Amouage Bracken Man....YESSSS!!!!
Russian Leather is one of my favorites from Memo. Such a great holiday frag🎄
I have a few of those and thankfully I was able to finally find the Serge Lutens. I can’t wait to wear this one the week of Christmas.
I layer Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors with Marshmallow and Incense by Ganache - so I can smell like roasting marshmallows over the fire while I'm camping in a pine forest...I always love your Christmas countdown! xoxo

Love Bottega Veneta pour Homme! Fantastic modern take on coniferous cologne. Only down side it doesn't last long.
Totally agree!
I believe what made the Sergi Lutens reach the top was the dried fruits..I know you love that note Sebastian...
I am SO HAPPY you put Fille des Anguilles at number one. That fragrance literally changed my life lol!! It's the best!!
It's Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille for Christmas for me. Plums, tobacco, dried fruits, spices..so delicious!
Winter Nights is magnificent. Childhood memories in a bottle. Smoky smooth sweet awesomeness. Great list as per usual. 🖤🎄
