- Romain Bardet is the first yellow jersey of the Tour de France 2024 after an exhibition by Frank van den Broek and the DSM team on stage 1 finishing in Rimini. However, the man of the day was Mark Cavendish with a legendary puking show coming in 40 minutes behind the winner, while his Astana teammate Michele Gazzolli abandoned totally exhausted just 2 years after being sanctioned for doping for Tuaminoheptane in a Portuguese village race. Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard will challenge each other on the San Luca climb in stage 2.

Van Der Broeck honestly deserves a lot of credit and I thought deserved the stage win too. He put in a Herculean effort to keep Bardet away from the Peloton.
True, but team leader always takes it. He got the green jersey anyway.

Nice to hear you give kudos to Romain Bardet without innuendo. Very good to give credit when it is due.
But he's doped as well? They all are. I'm from Denmark and i also know that Vingegaard is doping. It's just part of the game and i don't blame any of them doing it.

As a curiosity, Michele Gazzoli was in the same team as Juan Ayuso and Piccolo's girlfriend's brother in the U23 category, after having passed through Birillo and Contatroll's stable. He was also sanctioned for doping in 2022 and expelled from Astana.
Cycling never changes.
"Expelled from Astana" apparenly means: 'suspended for one year whilst remaining on the Astana roster'.
They pulled him to continental team. 2 yrs later, in the tdf roster. Hilarious
Astana = doping.. vino used the same team from Liberty Sergurus that was Manolo Sainz last hurrah (operation Puerto) 🙄 since the Astana was created.. Armstrong returned with them , vino expelled for having someone else's blood in 07, contador, the list goes on and on... in fact, have a really good look at who now has come from these two teams..
If you look at U23 World champs 2021 an Italian won. His 2 teamates Colnaghi and Gazzoli (both of whom had doping bans) lead him out and finished top 10. 😳
just imagine if Bardet still would be at AG2R riding a Van Rysel, just imagine how much faster he would be...
I had diarrhea today, but I didn’t race the Tour
A few years ago, while watching the tdf with my young nephew, the little tacker stated that Cavendish in green with his little arms waving in the air looks an awful lot like the green dinosaur from the toy story franchise.. 😂😅
No lie
The no lie is so Barney Stinson. Love it.
I found it interesting that the first abandonment was an Italian friend of Piccolo's, in his ex team, and moreover one who'd already faced doping sanctions recently (year ban for stimulants). Gazzoli. Surely a coincidence. Re: stage 2 - I think there will be a lot of attacks.
Can't think why you'd mention this, as you concede, it's just a coincidence 🧐🥴🧐
I was watching the 1996 Tour recap on this channel... it was like a dejavu that the "Dane... allways the Dane", had no race during the season. And suddenly appears on the Grand Boule to claim the maillot jaune
Glad to see Bardet get his reward for the years of racing against...erhmmm.....leave that there....
The acknowledgement of Van de Broek and his teamates waa heart warming and makes me smile that at times, certain times, cycling does give you the right result...❤
Love the break away victories . Hard effort rewarded
If Cav wins a stage there’s something VERY fishy going on
The only way Cav can win a stage is with a Van Rysel "Cancellara" model + a laser jet pack and a full body air bag.
Boogie music is back, well more prominent 🎉🎉🎉
So glad for Bardet, couldn’t have happened to a better guy 😊
The 5 motorcycles pacing him on the flats until last 2-3 km was a bad look and i hope we don’t see that again 😮

Today I was a little emotional about one of my favorite racers finally wearing yellow 🥲🥳 Then I came here to laugh at the whole circus .🤑💩🤣.
Allez bardet!
Oh, you didnt have to come here for a laugh,, the show on the road was good. How can you get dropped on the first stage after 20km is the question to be asked.
Romain Bardope was amazing today. The anchovy also looked good and extra juiced. Tomorrow the stage is Dopegacar’s though. Or maybe Wout Van Dope. My wishlist is that Remmy Remmy Evenedope wins a stage and makes the podium 💙
crying with laughter
Stop beating around the bush. Are you suggesting the riders are doping?
@@rockhopper01 definitely not, all ridden on bread and water :D
I have absolutely nothing to back this up at all and it's completely out of my ass, but I feel like Cavendish has the ego of Lance Armstrong circa 2003.
After this first 2 stages, maybe the plump polka dot revelation Jonas Abrahamsen deserves a video.
Quite interesting hia story of gaining 20kg to get better at climbing.
Oh, and he too was a footballer that discovered cycling after an injury.

Our beloved anchovy will soon find his feathery fish fins once he whets his appetite among the dopers in the tall depths of the alps 💪🏿
i dont really get some of the hate names this channel comes up with. why would he be an anchovy? because he was a fisherman? so if he would have been a butcher he would be called the cow or pig? or if he was a car repairman he would be called a car? and thats funny then?

If you need to fight this hard during the first stage to stay in the race, maybe you don't deserve to beat Eddy Merckx's record of TDF stage wins. It's already a great accomplishment and honor to tie it.

"Cavendished" - gifted the opportunity to continue in the RACE after having made no effort to RACE in the previous stage, having lined up behind 3/4 teammates to noodle along at 30kph in order to conserve energy and possibly defraud the other sprinters of a stage-win (on a much easier day) after they actually wasted energy trying to ride within the peloton.

I am unsubscribing from this channel and I will tell you why. 1. The tone, it's constantly sarcastic, mocking, and caustic. 2. The continuous talk about dopers. Yes, I know there is a big problem, always has been, but it's professional sport, it happens. You try doing what they do for 3 weeks without any medical help. 3. The cheesy clown music, the same used in every video. It feels like it's mocking professional cycling, and as a fan, I don't like that. I'm not in denial about doping, but like I said, this is professional sport. We know about what goes on, or at least we have very strong suspicions, even about those we admire, but we enjoy the spectacle.
Hey. So you think all these stars ride doped and the music is wrong because of mockery.
Music is that because in 10 yrs making videos of all type it's the only music without copyright that yt didn fck me.
yep…there isn’t an elite level sport on earth that is ‘clean’ …it is what it is…enjoy the spectacle…
@@cyclinghighlights I'm not meaning to discourage you, but this is feedback. There is lots of royalty-free music available online. I do think doping is endemic in pro cycling, semi-pro, and is even used at amateur level, but since nobody will be honest about it and come clean, I just ignore it and enjoy the spectacle. Nobody can ride for 3 weeks in France without some medical help. I don't think there is any shame in that, but it is banned and people feel like they can't or don't want to talk about it, so... 🤷🏻♂
