Hi, i am Canadia... I see all your video content and also your classes I have some water to play the piano now Do you have any course or have any video to learn piano then I want to buy
Dave is zee best! I've watched and practiced all four of your beginner improv videos. Will there be a fifth installment? Maybe adding triplets or what to do on some other common progressions that are not in your first video?
@@DaveFrank Hey Dave I've been using that Slice of pizza excersise. And it's been really great and useful for my rhythm and fluidity. Something that I've found though is that I'm now associating patterns with that rhythm, like the "Slice of" will start a similar way every time. Any thoughts on how to generate more originality in my phrases? Cheers
Thanks, I've watched a number of your videos on RUclips and I'm always impressed with your skill and content of the lessons. I'm a retired IT Specialist and I perform with a show band doing a variety of Top 40, R&B, Dance and some Rock etc. Occasionally we play some easy listening jazz, Song for My Father, Blue Bossa, Girl from Impanema, etc, but I really want to master this style. I live in RI and I'm in NY monthly with my band at Resorts World Casino Bar 360. We're there on the 13th & 14th next week. It would be great to catch one of your classes. I'll check out your website and thanks again for all that you do. Greg Hanson

There is exactly ZERO musically actionable information contained in this video. How do the musically meaningless words FLOW, PHRASE or BREATHE help me figure out what notes to play over a given chord progression?
watch beginning jazz improvisation part 1 as I suggest in the video, and you will stop complaining) ruclips.net/video/JVS7FwTGWK0/видео.html As I also say in this video this video is intended for the large percentage of jazz students who know the information you requested to some degree.
@@DaveFrank So you don't like what I said Donald, oh I mean, Dave. Here's the thing: you are a master player no question about it. But from a pedagogical perspective, this video offers absolutely nothing to go on for the average person who is trying to figure out how to improvise. I think you are at such an advanced level of musicianship you are functioning in a completely intuitive realm and have lost touch with the basics that most students need to learn. Think about what you did here: you mentioned FLOW and then played a masterful solo but explained ZERO about what you just did. That is not teaching, that is showing off. TELL ME HOW YOU MADE THAT MASTERFUL SOLO. HOW DID YOU DECIDE TO PLAY THOSE NOTES? WHERE DID THOSE NOTES COME FROM???????? HOW DID YOU CONSTRUCT THAT MELODY? I desperately WANT to know. I'm trying to figure this out.
Bob, I'm just seeing your second comment now. Write to me if you like at Dave@davefrankjazz.com. I'd like to give you a free skype lesson or two to answer your questions about playing. I can show you the answers. thanks for writing.
