I bought a pioneer gm-d9605 off of eBay because I have one in my other car and love it. Tried tuning the filters and lost one of the channels in the front and would lose the other based on which setting I had the switch on. Plus I was hearing the crunchy static between clicks as well. I bought some of the wd-40 contact cleaner after watching your video and I have all 5 channels working again 🎉
Tried this on my Memphis PR300.2 reference amp. Would turn on but no output, once I sprayed and worked the bass boost on/off switch BAM it works. Thanks for the great tip!
i have a mosconi pro 4 channel powering my midbass speakers in my door its about 2 years old. i started to hear a noise in 1 of my speakers that almost sounded like a loose connection ( scratchy sound). confirmed all wiring and connections were good and the only way to stop it was to disable the gains on the amp and set gains through the dsp. After research the best i could find was that its a bad potentiometer in the amp. But after setting gains through dsp, i get a littlebit of noise through speakers with no music playing at the highest volume setting in the car which i didnt have prior, so i would still like to figure it out so i can use the gains again on the amp itself. do you think this method could fix my problem ?
I'm thinking a Dremel.. it's a JL 500/1 inside the pwr, grnd, remote inputs, also looking to restore the all the outer surfaces.. I think they are brushed nickel? Aluminum Maybe
I sprayed regular wd 40 into the pots my amplifier because that’s all I had at the moment I noticed it left oily residue on the amp board.today one day later I finally got contact cleaner and I sprayed half of the contact cleaner on the amp mother board and switches I’m scared to hook up the amplifier in the car.
HifiVega I cleaned it with alcohol the best I could,I put in front of a fan for 2 hours with the amp open, I hooked it up and it worked fine the sad thing is,it’s a massive audio amplifier it is the volt series 1000.1 it is rated at 455 watts rms at 2 ohm load. and 250rms at 4 ohm load. ,I hooked it up at a 4 ohm load.2 kicker impulse 12 inch single voice coil 8 ohm subs so they are dropped to 4 ohms with the 2 on parallel connection to the amp,the box is 5 cubic feet tuned at 35hz ported, this amp sucks I got it from a friend for free, but I am disappointed in the way the amplifier performs I did a test comparison, I hooked up a clarion apx600.5 which is rated 110watts at 4 ohm load and the clarion is the winner boo massive audio

Yo! That’s awesome man I’m glad it helped
I usually just put my amps in the dish washer, but this seems to be a much better method! Ha Ha, great video bud!!
The dishwasher works, but you gotta have those marine grade amps!
BigDWiz dish washer...lol that's funny d
Im guessing you clean those brand new amps which is why you wash away the watts they are supposed to put out 😂

billybullfrog nice!!
OMG those old Class AB amps are huge! Class D is amazing
Thank you so much for this video. I have an Alpine dividing network with the same switches that were doing the same thing. Now it’s like new again.
Always happy when a video I make helps someone!
Thanks for the great video! I have a scratchy gain pot on my 2150gx I'm going to see if this will remedy that .
No problem man! I hope it helps, it's definitely worth a try. Thanks for watching.

Thank for this video my JL 1000/V2 amp is doing this. I’m going to try this out tomorrow.👍
Hope it helps!
I did it in a pair of amps last days, but I use my air compressor gun to finish it, good vid
J Flow Thanks! It's a good idea to spray that access liquid off with air if you have it handy.
Can I clean the switch without disassembling the amp? My amp is all hooked up.
Yo hifi! So I’ve got an amp that’s been wet. Some of the resisters are corroded and rusted. What’s the best way to clean it ?
White distilled vinegar would be your best bet, but you’ll have to be very careful not to over saturate the board
Well done and most articulate.
Lee Simpson Thanks!
Would this work on my dj mixer?
Jonathan Pinder S.R. Oh for sure! It’ll work on almost any potentiometer
My switches makes a high noise when touch gain or high pass. THen now they make an erratic sound all the time, I need that thing.
Did you already use contact cleaner on them?
@@HifiVega Wow a fast response!, not yet I will. Right now im just turning the switch on and off a lot. THis amp has more than 10 years.
deoxit works? I want to clean my hd900/5 gain pots and switches scratchy
I can’t confirm or deny since I haven’t used it or heard much about it being used. You can try a q tip and alcohol tho
I have spot rust inside my wire terminals.. any ideas to do it safely and easy with a chemical?
Dustin Cannon off the top of my head I’d say maybe evaporust?

Fresh55n9ne maybe you can clean it up with some alcohol?
HifiVega I’m going to try it I just don’t want the amp to catch on fire 🔥
Fresh55n9ne right on!
