Milo's politics specifically focus around attacking and critiquing women, people of color, Muslims, immigrants, people outside of gender norms and liberals, which leaves us with white, Judeo-Christian conservative males. This IS identity politics, and if you don't see that, you're looking at it from the wrong angle. He embodies identity politics in the most superficial of ways, rigidly focusing on categories of people and not the content of their thoughts/opinions/perspective. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Did women/people of color/Muslims/etc superficially focus on identity first or did a society of white, Judeo-Christian males make everything about sex/race/religion/class? Do women/people of color like having to constantly talk about sex/race or do white males constantly keep trying to preserve THEIR identity politics?
No Name Milo loves women, he's said numerous times and is married to a black man. He's is more than sympathetic to the Jewish people, so you forgot them. He's is reluctant to be an advocate of Islam because most Muslims would have him thrown off a roof, though he has brought up the idea of reform. You should really watch some of his talks and read his old columns to get why he believes the things he does.
No Name, the right does not have rigid language codes as seen in leftist PC culture. If anything, people like Milo need to push against what the left deems as 'socially acceptable' in order to get their viewpoint across. That's what free speech is all about, the push and pull of differing ideas. To say the right wants to enforce their own PC lingo is ludicrous to say the least.

i remembered during election season many people felt like alt right was too broad to categorize and that many people had varying ideologies in it. fast foward now there's no illusion about them being white nationalists most if not all. the people that just wanted to be anti eventually distanced themselves from it after that. you are right that people pandered to them when they started to get mainstream attention but it didnt last that long besides the platforms who were far right ethnic nationalists from the beginning anyway.

From a friend I have who's a fan of some of Milo's material, Milo got twitter-banned because of a chain of events that is more complicated than simply denoting it as "racist trolling".
Firstly, he compared Leslie Jones' visage to that of a man (mostly due to how he felt her role in the Ghost Busters reboot was was given a lackluster direction). This is the impetus that lead to an assortment of Milo fans to publicly attack Leslie Jones on her own twitter account, something Milo openly disapproved of. However, since he was the source of the inundation that fell upon her, he was the one who was given the blame, and was thusly banned.
Other than that, I pretty much agree with this segment.
Right after calling Lena Dunham & Amy Schumer "talentless warthogs", Milo said, "I am the same, just with different politics." So, he called himself a talentless warthog, which is either accurate, or a sign than his grasp of the English language is so poor, he can't avoid insulting himself. National Socialism (Nazism) is populism, but it is not left wing populism. Nazis are right wing populism

Bernie Sanders is left wing populism, as opposed to the corporatist left wing represented by Hillary Clinton. Bernie Sanders is concerned with the greater good of all Americans and all humanity, regardless of race or ethnicity.
Since the whole 'left right' dichotomy differs from culture to culture, and time period to time period, it is useful to look at where the phrase bagan. It was introduced in France during the revolution.
Delegates that wanted to maintain traditional power structures sat on the right wing of the parliament, those that wanted progress sat on the left. So right wing seeks to maintain, left seeks progress.
Right wing populism, like Nazis, want to maintain traditional racial power structures, they revere captains of industry from their race (Hitler with Krupp steal, the Alt Right with Trump), and they seek to either exile, dominate, or exterminate other races in some combination.
Left wing populism is 'big boat' populism, imagine the world is an ocean and people are on life boats. Left wing populists arent trying to kick the other races out of their life boat, they see global society as a single life boat requiring cooperation among everybody. (even if pragmatic populists see the utility of current nation states in a gradual transition to a global society, the big boat analogy applies)
Both left and right wing populism require a certain amount of individual self denial for the greater good of the common person. That is what they have in common.
One defines the greater good in narrow racial or ethnic terms (Nazis and Trumpism), the other in global terms (like Bernie Sanders).

I think your taking a leap by saying Nazism and Right Wing populism are the exact same, it's not that black and white. Fascism adds national identity to the 'system of oppression' meaning that not only must the proletariat revolt against the bourgeoisie, the nation(Germany) must be greater than all other nations and express its supremacy using violent means. It also comes down to weather state run capitalism is a kind of totalitarian socialism or not. If you believe seizing the means of production automatically means socialism or any kind of capitalism is simply capitalism, you'll perceive the Nazi economy very differently.
The bottom line for me is that collectivism sucks. Both Germany and Russia collectivized their people; The Aryan race and Proletariat. The extreme right and left both retain these views and that is why they are wrong.
Bringing it back to the actual video, Milo is by no means a collectivist and shares no sympathies with the alt-right. Socially he can seem regressive but it's mostly part of the act. Fiscally he's your run of the mill libertarian.

I heard of him some years ago and was completely on board with his comments on feminism, but then something happened, he noticed he got more attention the more controversial his comments were, so he became controversial for the sake of being controversial up to the point of "excusing" pedophilia.
