Only in those countries that treat science as an industry, particularly the US. However, scientists in countries with publicly funded science come to the exact same results, thus showing that the point you're making is irrelevant to the results.

lol watches one video and convinced climate scientists are in it for the money. Its the other way round mate. Climate change deniers are the ones pushing their falsified, unscientific agenda to rake in the $$$. All of the big anti-climate change pushers all have ties to fossil-fuel producers who are in threat of losing lots of money if climate change deterrents like carbon taxes are imposed. Don't be a sheep in their game, they don't give a shit about you or the planet we live on, all they care about is the money.

I think the westerners don't see The effects of climate change as anything serious.it only means longer winters for them, I mean hell they have Olympic games in the snow and have lots of fun in the winter, but here in Nigeria it has gotten considerably hotter, the Sun baking your skin as early as 10am.Gone are the days we dreaded the rain as nw we look forward to it because it means a cooler weather for atleast 12 hours even tho it leads to peoples homes getting flooded as long and heavy rain storms are a norm nw in recent years because you knw Climate change ........... Climate change is real folks and its even worse in the Central Africa region which is susceptible to Famine

It varies from 91-100% depending on the study. I don't think that we should use the '97% argument' anyway - at least we shouldn't start with it... Science isn't based on consensus and the basics of the model aren't that difficult to explain.
If you define consensus that way, then sure. Some define consensus as 'a general agreement', which is more vague and doesn't specify how this agreement needs to be achieved. Steady state universe used to be a consensus before people like Einstein, Hubble and Lemaître came along. I'm fine with either one of the definitions. It's just that usually skeptics use the 'a general agreement' definition. For example Steven(?) Crowder says that "Science isn't determined by consensus, it's determined by truth."

Don't quote Steven Crowder as anyone with any legitimacy in the science world, because he has none.
And what you are defining are paradigm shifts in our understanding of the universe. People like Einstein, Galileo, Newton all influenced drastic changes for consensus in science. But they were only able to do this because of scientific consensus that came before them. Einstein wouldn't have discovered his general and special relativity if as a scientific community we hadn't had consensus on motion of planets in our solar system. You need consensus in certain areas, to use those areas of knowledge to discover new truths about the universe. Otherwise you would simply question everything. Imagine trying to build furniture from an instruction manual but instead of doing what the instructions tell you you simply sit there and question if they work or not. Are you going to build that furniture? No, you are just going to go round in circles questioning things that are already known. That isn't productive, that isn't science.
I agree that Crowder has no legitimacy, but I have no problem with going with his definition. I would rather give people like him as much rope as possible as long as they are not trying to win by definition. I hope that I didn't misrepresent myself. I do believe in AGW and I accept the science behind it.
