Thankyou for sharing this Rhonda. I am 33 years old and am having surgery next week. Most people I have been able to chat with about the surgery are all quite a bit younger than me so it's great to see you making such a great recovery post-surgery (as this has been worrying me a great deal when I factor in my age!) Can I ask how you are going now (as in pain and mobility) and was this a standard 'titanium rod' procedure?...Would be great to hear from you! Cheers! Ali

I would love to know how she's feeling now! I'm 17 years old with sever scoliosis and my surgeon is recommending me to have surgery, but my chiropractor is advising me otherwise. If anyone reading this comment has had experience with this, let me know! Because honestly... I'm scared out of my brains at the thought of a surgery like that on my spine!

I don’t have scoliosis, but the surgery sounds horrendous. Having your spine permanently fused with bone and rods, the section becoming permanent immobile for the rest of your life.

Curious here, how has that affected your lower lumbar/sacral region? I had my T11-L4 fused in 2000 and it's wreaked havoc on my discs at L4-L5 and L5-S1, and I now have spondylolisthesis at the same juncture. Staring down the prospect of a full hardware revision from T9-S1. So how are you doing now?

Imagine having lazy parents who never looked into treatment as a child, like braces or posture exercises. And now you’re an adult with a bad curve who has little option but permanent spinal fusion surgery.

Scoliosis goes to show you there is no true God no matter what race or religion you are.
