I live my entire life in Slovenia and I've never heard women should wear stockings in the summer or my eggs would freeze.

She confused the egg freeze thing with 'prehladiti si jajčnike' which means 'to catch a cold on ur ovaries' which is a real concern not a myth

@@altergreenhorn Aperently not. Slovenians are too lazy to put up fast food business with Slovenian food. Only thing they do is artisan hamburgers. I saw one Prleška potica in center of Ptuj and one prekmurska gibanica Brunček Maribor run by Slovenians. Other than that I can't think of any.

OMG I totally forgot about the not sitting on the ground thing. I remember my mother yelling at me as a kid if I sat on the ground without a blanket LOL. Now as far as the egg freezing thing, that is a too literal translation of the phrase 'prehladiti si jajčnike' as noted below b. It is a phrase meaning be careful or you'll catch a cold and it's not meant to be taken literally but I get her confusion LOL. I've called Canada my home for 45 years now but I still miss Slovenija.

@@sharonbarclays7820 I was born in Jesenice (Koroska Bela) Slovenia and moved to Canada when I was eight. I have been back many times. My father is from Bosnia but I identify more with the Slovenian culture of my mother.

People should also know that Slovenia is very small but very different from place to place (we have regions) by that I mean😂: If you live in mountains or by the sea or in the east part of a country, culture is different....even if you go within the same region from one village to the other you can hear different pronunciations, different habits...it’s like comparing someone who lives in California with someone who lives in Texas...I believe it’s quite a difference 😁
I'm a Slovenian. Ive never heard my eggs might freeze and neither did anyone ever open their door for me while NAKED. So confusing. And I'm sorry she had to experience that.

Czech Republic has more castles per capital than Slovenia and it is probably somewhere like Malta that has most per capita.
Slovenia isn't close to 80% forest and Finland is the most forested country in Europe with 70 something %.

We have 60% forest and about eggs freezing... my grandmum said that you would get cold if u sat on cold ground, nothing about eggs tho.

Official abbreviation of the country is SVN. SI is used for domains. SLO is also used of course but it is not official.
Lol the eggs thing is real :-) I´m a man and even I heard that a lot. It´s "prehladila si bos jajcnike" it means you will get a cold in your ovaries, which can lead to bladder infection. I heard that a lot on the beach or pools. My mother always wipes her private parts aggressively when she gets out of the water, so she doesn´t get a cold. And everytime we drive and see a teenage girl with a skirt, she just shakes her head and goes "she will freeze her eggs". But the biggest health risk in Slovenia is called PREPIH, a wind draft, when you open windows and doors and it blows a bit. Everyone will go "zapri dol, prepih je" (close the window, there´s a draft). Every real Slovenian is terrified of this.

I'm laughing so hard! That is so true, we have this supperstition about getting a cold. "Prepih" (Duft) is a very serious thing! We are barely two milions after all, so women should defenitely look after their eggs! 😂😂

I'm American and have a two friends from the Balkans. One swears I'd find my love in Slovenia. She says I'd be very compatible with the women over there LOL. She lives in Croatia atm but also has Bosnian citizenship. It's so funny though she says I'm the type of guy the women over there appreciate. Not sure why as I know very little of Slovenia. Is it like really Christian or something? She says I'm a gentlemen and not a "chauvinistic pig"...whatever that means XD
