Well, it also has to do with "population." The F-15 and F-16 have a much wider and robust inventory. The government hard cut the F-22 inventory with no intentions of rebooting that back up.
@steeljawX the F-22 is limited in its capabilities though. Pure air superiority. The 15 and 16 are more multi role aircraft, with the 15 E and EX being a true multi role fighter
@@brandonhill2183 It is capable of doing air to ground missions and has been used to drop bombs on the enemy in Syria but I do agree that it isn't made for that. Unlike the F15 and F16 who can do pretty much everything
They did a contest ... 4 or 5 F-15s vs a single F-22. Stealth is the unfair advantage. They described it as the F-22 "killing baby seals" as it killed all of the F-15s without even being seen. 🦭
The F-22 might be absolutely terrifying because it’s virtually invisible But the F-15 is terrifying because it’s basically a flying Mike Tyson, it will beat the soul out of you and come back for more without even breaking a sweat. It’s like Superman if he was actually made out of steel

As a prior F-15 armament tech, it does my heart good to see people know the majesty of the jet I bled for. I hated working on it, but I have the utmost respect and pride in having done so.
@@michaelwestmoreland2530 Engineers don’t make things easy for maintainers. “Why is this part arranged like this?” “Who thought putting this HERE was a good idea?” And the fact that these birds are flown like they’re brand new when they’re many times over their lifetime flight hours and twice the average age of the guy maintaining them. And what we have to use to maintain them are also outdated equipment made exclusively by the Saudis so it costs 500,000 per box, but is also from the 80’s and involves MANY wires and a ton of time just for testing. Don’t get me wrong, the F-15’s can do some SCARY things, but a couple times we had accidents where we broke something that just isn’t made anymore, so we had to custom order a new one that took 3 weeks to make and arrive and the jet was down the whole time because it understandably can’t fly without a major panel.
@jesusofbullets Yeah. Jesus. That's....having worked in HVAC for 13 years, I do absolutely understand "Did the engineers have a personal problem with ME?"
you forget, that the F-15 was and still is able to lock onto, and fire at enemy fighters before they appear on an enemy fighter's radar. so half the time. the ones that see the F-15 on radar are already fighting for their lives trying not to get shot down
The F15C/D have an 8,000 hr service limit. The C/D have been houring out at a rapid pace for years now. The F15E Strke Eagle have a 10,000 hour service limit, they have started being removed from service now as they hour out. The F15EX Eagle II and F35A are replacing them rapidly. The F15EX much like the Super Hornet is really a new airplane designed to utilize existing infrastructure to build. The F15EX has a 20,000 hour service limit, carries more ordinance and will be cheaper to operate than the F35. In none contested air space it only makes sense. Especially since the F22 is aging much faster than anticipated and the F35 production is lagging the retirement curve of the F15 fleet. The G6 Fighter needs to get here fast as we may find ourselves without a G5 air superiority fighter if it doesn't.
@@gk5891 This is an excellent point, and one that I think a lot of people miss. The F-15 airframe (with upgrades) will likely continue to stay in service for decades to come while the various models of current F-15s in service get retired out as they pass their service lives. I think a lot of people have a hard time drawing a distinction between an actual individual airframe and the airframe/model as a whole. What made the F-22 so expensive in hindsight wasn't the actual cost, but the fact that Congress pulled the funding and the production chain for it was cannibalized for the F-35 project. Likewise, what makes the F-15 so cheap (comparatively) is the fact that the supply and production chains for it are still in existence, which means that changes can be made to them much more easily than having to rebuild them from scratch (as would need to be done for the F-22). I wouldn't be surprised if we see further versions of the F-15 past the EX drawn up in the next decade or so that adds increasingly advanced features to it.
One thing you got to remember about all of these fighters. They are data linked. They can send 1 F-22 up with 3 fully Air to Air armed F-15s and shoot their missiles Beyond visual range.
The F-15C's are getting quite old and worn out and as such are being slowly phased out, however the USAF has issued a contract to the manufacturer to build at least 104 brand new F-15EX's to replace them.

I remember the first time I saw an f-18. I don't know why but I imagined it so much smaller. Little 12 year old me was in awe during my air cadet camp. We were a couple hundred feet from the runway. They used to take off and go inverted over our parade ground. Feeling your insides rumble when they punched the throttle was awesome!
@@rundownaxe yup! And that jet that looked so big to you is still 20,000 lbs lighter than a fully loaded Eagle. It’s one of the main reasons the Sea Eagle project never took off. Just not enough room on the decks to make it worth it.
The EX has so many hard points it qualifies as a missile truck. They could be used in conjunction with F-35's, where the F-35 picks the targets, and the EX kills them.
The satellite kill was a multi-stage ASM-135 missile, developed by LTV Aerospace. The Satellite orbited about 320 miles above sea level. The Satellite's name was Solwind P78-1.

F-15 is still a major part of the US AF. “Replaced by F-22” means it has been supplanted as the most dangerous air to air fighter jet. It is still widely in use by both US and many other nations around the world.
in fact that's where the F-15EX comes into play. it fields some ' upgrades ' the countries that still use it wanted us to put on it. ( kind of a multi-national project at this point )
There are, currently, 149 F-15C Eagles, 219 F-15E Strike Eagles, and 2 F-15EX Super Eagles active in the U.S.A.F.'s arsenal. The average sevice life is over 30 years, and many have received updated engines. Beyond the U.S.A.F.s contingent I couldn't tell you how many are still flying, but I would guess "a lot".

6:34 they also have different mission sets. The F-22 &F-35 is meant to be practically invisible & kill stuff while the F-15 is meant to be very visible while killing stuff
F-22 is meant to replace the F-15C as air superiority. F-15E will be around for some time as it is more multi-role. About the shooting of a satellite, look up the ASM-135A ASAT missile. The F-15C was designated as only aircraft that could fire the missile due to its ability to gain speed as it went vertical since the only thing to slow it down was lack of oxygen for the engines.
F-22 was "meant" but short sightedness by the Govt led it to never be used in combat, so far its got 1 weather balloon to its credit. The NGAD will be the next Best Fighter whenever it comes out.
@AlbertoMartinez765 The government will still force the issue since there are very few generals with the balls to stand up and point out the forest for the trees.
@@AlbertoMartinez765 It hasn't been used is actually false. It has flow combat missions just hasn't fired its weapons outside the balloon. The "you should go home now" story is a great example.
I was out in Death Valley National park camping for a week in Saline Valley. You can watch these guys practice in the sky doing their dog fight maneuvers. so saline valley is a clothing optional hot spring area and one of these pilots does a low fly by upside down and is waving at the girls. Very impressive! and I would like to thank that pilot for getting all the naked girls to jump and down waving at him.
I've watched a few reactions to the F15 video and you're the first person I've seen react so much to "we don't make sense, we're bane dollars" and I love that it hit you like that. That is by far the most American thing I've ever heard and also by far my favorite part of the original video.
If you are still in the UK, go to the RAF Lakenheath and watch the F-15 E and C's fly. That F-15 flying in that canyon was in England and the British planes do terrain avoidance there as well to the Plane spotter's delight.
Sadly as of a few years back, Lakenheath only has E models. But they do have F35s now, which are just as cool. Mother fuckers shake the fucking earth when they take off.
I've seen multiple other channels react to FE and everyone who has interacted with him all say he's genuinely an awesome guy. He's popped into Mr Terry's livestream amd sent him merch.
Well...to be specific, never shot down in air combat is not the same as never ever shot down. A significant number of F-15s have been shot down, just never in air to air combat...those SAMs can be a real bitch. 😁
Posted this on Nick's video cause it had more crazy F-15 facts, including two pop culture facts I missed including. Alright, I found an old book on fighter jets to help add to this legend of a plane. You called it a rocket. NAH! It BEAT a rocket. It would actually set a world record in time-to-height and beat the Apollo moonshot at certain heights. It also set records for crossing the country as well. And let's not forget the big one: the F-15 was pretty much made due to translation error and luck. The Soviets had created the much overrated MiG-25 Foxbat, a interceptor capable of very high speeds of Mach 3 (which basically became a resource/money dump cause the Reds made it to counter a bomber we never even put into full production). The US got word of this new Mach 3 capable fighter and basically went "Oh shit, we need to beat this." Now, did you catch the mistake? If you did, you did better then US intel did. A translation error got the Foxbat labeled a FIGHTER instead of an INTERCEPTOR, which is important as one means a combat aircraft that is ment to stay and play if need be against all types of aircraft, the other is ment to go as fast as possible to intercept enemy bombers (typically) so being maneuverable isn't a need compared to top speed. So, the F-15 would be needed but SAC would've been an issue as well due to it usually being run by bomber generals...... cept that time the fighter jockeys got command of SAC and gleefully greenlit the program. Thus, the beautiful monster that is the Eagle came to be the king of the sky we know and love. Side note: ever notice the F-22 looks alot like an Eagle but made for stealth? Kinda the point, if it ain't broke, just make it a better plane anyway cause fuck fighting fair. One more fact is the F-15 is current the best fighter aircraft PERIOD due to both it's standing flawless kill ration of 104:0 and it's held that record for 50+ YEARS,. Yes, technically some planes have more kills but they importantly have losses as well so the Eagle reigns at the top as of now as none have been lost to enemy aircraft. As for pop culture, in the 80s Transformer cartoon, the F-15 was Starscream's vehicle mode cause the air commander insisted on assuming the form of the best combat aircraft he could, so he picked the Eagle then and the Raptor later in the Bay era. Finally, the F-15 would be the cover plane for Ace Combat Zero where your AI wingman, Pixy, has the same accident as the Israeli pilot and he paints his wing red as homage to his accident, even gaining the nickname 'Solo-wing Pixy.'
I’m not a pilot, and never been in the military. But I’ve seen on of these at an air show. When it was discussing creating enough thrust to overcome lift, drag, etc…we saw a demonstration of that. It came in low and turned vertical right above the crowd. It can actually accelerate while going vertical. So it disappeared like rocket. It’s insane. Only thing more impressive was watching a Harrier come by at 400mph or something around there, and the next time it comes by it stops midair. Spins around in a 360° circle, and then starts backing up in the air.
That F-15 that lost its wing still had a small portion of the wing left but it still could fly. What looks blurry, that is the fuel coming out of the tank.
F-15: I'm not stuck out here with you. You're stuck out here with me. Seriously, I lived near a lockheed base becausemy dad and I both worked there assembling jets like these. Hated working on F-35's but anytime an F-16 and rare cases, an F-15, I was delighted to see it and would often go pester the pilot about it who usually were more than happy to sit with me and my dad for dinner at a local BBQ place after work. I was always too scared to fly in one when given the chance because I had just been disgnosed with epilepsy during that time and wasn't sure if I was healthy enough, but man, seeing those things take off and even fly during air shows was such an amazing experience.
You should watch his videos all the way to the end cuz he does outros in the last 10-20 seconds after he flashes his logo. You’re missing out on some of the best content of his videos.
The F-15 is still in ACTIVE PRODUCTION with the US Air Force still buying them, including the brand new Eagle II variant which is replacing the older ones that have more flight hours on their airframe than the pilots have in total flight time. This is a 50 year old aircraft that is still DOMINANT. Also as an American, the whole "we don't make sense we make dollars", that line is true AF, no offense taken, I see it as a point of pride.
This is a demo video of the F-22 Raptor at Huntington Beach, CA. I was a AIC (Air Intercept Controller in the Navy for 14 years, I never had control of one of these aircraft...just F-4's and F-14's. The most impressive thing for me about the F-22 is the turning circle. It can change course on a dime. That is mind boggling. I would hate to be an enemy fighter trying to chase one down from behind. It is also fast and quick, An absolutely amazing aircraft.
I remember the first time i saw F15s take off vertical like that and the sonic boom they made flying by beyond the sound barrier. Dad used to take me to the air show every few years. It was always impressive no matter how many times i experienced it.
It would be awesome to see a Collab with you and the Fed electrician between your enthusiasm for the US military and his unseemly never-ending knowledge make for a great duo. Thank you for reacting to this. Looking forward to to more! 🤙
A F-15 demo team preformed at my local airshow last year. Still hands down one of the most impressive and awe inspiring performance and I put that over the F22 flight in the same show!
Very true. But remember, the lesson of the air war in Vietnam. Once the ROE changes the stealth advantages of the F22 will be neutralized. At that point the F15 will once again become the more effective combat weapon.
@@thomasking5472 ...no The F-22 is faster and way more maneuverable. There was training with 1 F-22 vs multiple F-15s at close range on their radar, guess who still won.....F-15 effective combat weapon...because it can carry more armaments allowing it to have a wider range of missions, which does nothing when its out matched in the sky.

Just a tip for watching The Fat Electrician, watch through his credits, he usually has something funny to say at the end. Other than that love the videos! Keep it up!
I live near a base where they routinely do test flights with these jets, I can't explain how loud these planes are. They literally shake your house as they fly overhead. If you're listening to anything, you have to pause it until they're gone, even with headphones on, you can't hear a single thing.
That plane that lost a wing was flown by an Israeli pilot who activated his afterburner and stopped the plane from spinning. No one realized a whole wing was gone till it landed, and not even Mcdonald Douglas, who built it, knew how it continued to fly until they sent a team to review all the data
You being a brother across da pond, I think your half right. You do it right... his link down below... gave a tutorial... giving credit counts. And you, some how, actually give commentary! Brilliant!
Fun fact, an F15-E that ran out of ordinance from a bombing run dove at the ground and pulled up at the last second to produce a sonic boom and scare away the enemy that had the American troops ambushed on the ground. I believe there is a video about it here on RUclips. It saved the lives of all the boots on the ground that day. The Enemy ran for their lives thinking it was bombs being dropped, It literally is the Bully of the skies. lol
Prior service Eagle Keeper here. And it's a dream to maintain as well. On average it takes 2.5 - 3 hours for 3 crew chiefs to change an engine, modular avionics and other time saving tech. When compared to the F-4 where it takes 5 guys 8 hours to remove and engine, well, you get the picture.
Nah man he genuinely is fine with people reacting. I mean, Kip is a gamer that's never been in the military, and he's reacted to all of TFE's long-form videos.
it can see it, it just can't target it. you can "see" stealth aircraft on radar, but gaining a weapons grade lock is damn near impossible until they're within like 20 miles. far far outside the range of the 100 mile AMRAAM d models. @@ripstake
That wasnt just vs F-15s it was F-15s and other unnamed aircraft. Usually when F-15s score a kill on F-22 it is in a 1v4+ and or the F-22 has to dogfight with multiple aircraft, or the F-22 has its radar disabled or is put in an ambushed scenario.
A ground check engineer at MD St. Louis gave my son a picture take thru the vertical stabilizers of a inverted F-15, below the rim of the Grand Canyon at max 1.5.!!
I could be wrong, but the F-15E is based there in the UK at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. I was there from 89-98 when they replaced the F-111. Tail designator LN.
I know I am late, but we still use the F-15 a lot. It lives on in different variations and I think we still use the regular one as well. Though the different ones are the F-15 Silent Eagle stealth variant. There is the F-15 Strike Eagle variant allowing it to carry more weapons. Just recently the F-15 X or EX or something, came out. There may be more but that’s all I remember.
Yeah, while the C variant is still active, it stopped being built decades ago, and all production lines in the world for it have been shut down and fully decommissioned. So, if you want a new F-15 of any variety, you have to go with the E variant as the base, and that is what happened with the EX. Now, I personally don't know if this is indeed the case, but I suspect that is why that variant's designation starts with an E, even though despite have the setup of a two-seater, it is flown only with the pilot and no back-seater (it can still have an operating back-seater, but it rarely, if ever, happens).
I love the F-15 Strike Eagle. (I have 2 brothers that were Air Force) However, due to personal experience as a US Army grunt, the Warthog has my heart and soul.
I think the 1990's comedy movie Hot Shots! had a scene in it where the pilot with the nearsightedness reported to flight control that it has lost both wings but there was no problem to report, and then like 15 minutes later after the battle in the movie was over and everyone's on the flight deck that dude in the wingless F-15 just bellyflop lands the craft onto the deck.
Neat thing on the F-15 that lost the wing and kept flying, if I remember right, is that the body of the plane generates slightly more lift than the wings combined due to the design. So losing the one wing didn't put it in a horribly unstable center of lift to center of mass offset that would result in it rapidly/instantly slipping into a unrecoverable spin. This combined with the very large control surfaces and it's speed and thrust allowed it to counter act the offset forces that did come into effect when it lost it's wing enough that... well it kept flying and landed lol. If it wasn't for these three factors, the high lift amount of the body, large control surfaces, and speed/thrust it couldn't of done what it did.
It’s the power to weight ration due to the size of the aircraft and the power the engines produce = 1/1. Giving the F-15 eagle not just speed but maneuverability in dog fights. Thus making the F-15 a very big threat in air to air combat. Coupled with look down shoot down radar, this fighter can also cover beyond visual range engagements as well. It’s the best of what the Us has fielded and proven in combat.
The F15 is a beast in combat, in a H2H between F22 & F15 it'd be a toss up the pilots make the difference. The Generation 5 we now are just the tip of the iceberg Generation 6 is now in testing & production phase while Generation 7 is on the development whiteboard and Generation 8 is being concepted.
I work for the air force and the F-15 is what most pilots coming into the air force want to fly. They are quick and very deadly to hostel aircraft. It is without a question , My favorite jet. P.S. Love your channel and your videos.
We have upgraded the F-15 several times and even changed out the engines to GE F110 cause you know, we thought it was too slow. The F-15EX is the new version and got deployed to its first fighter wing like 2 weeks ago.

The thing about The Fat Electrician is that he is to Military and Military history as Casual Geographics is to Wildlife Biology and Wildlife Biology History. He's just going to give it to you as it is and it's your job to try to keep a straight face about how he's telling you the details. Also, what are you on about? "I haven't reacted to the F-15." That's the thing the US made in panic response to the Soviet Foxbat and it turns out that the US just reinvented aerial warfare due to that and made it the rest of the world's problem. The thing really differentiating the F-15, F-16, and F-18 from the F-22 and F-35 is stealth and combat intent. So the Teen series of fighters had to be fast. That was their anti-missile defense. However around the time of the F-18, engineers and the military realized something kind of important that ended up slowing down (as in physically, not the development time) of the F-22 and F-35. Most aerial combat doesn't happen at mach 2. It is usually sub sonic because sonic and super sonic flight is just asking for things to get ripped off. Then the F-22 and F-35 have stealth built into them. So instead of having to outrun a missile, the onus is put on the missile to find the 22 and 35 first. So the requirement to move at sonic and super sonic speed became less of a requirement as stealth became the focal defense and also there's little reason for an air superiority fighter to "efficiently" cruise at above mach speed because dogfights, should it come to that, don't happen at above mach speed.
In 1995 a gangster rapper named DJ Quik released an album called "Safe and Sound". One of the singles from the album was called "If it don't make dollars, it don't make sense". I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't where he got the idea for his fantastic quip he used.

By replace, they mean that the primary mission duties and capabilities of the F-15 are being incorporated into the mission and capabilities of the 22. The 22 is going to be used the way the 15 was used in the past.
originally that was the plan, to replace the Eagle 1 for 1 with Raptors, but they were too expensive so only built maybe 20% of the original plan, and many Eagles were kept in service. if you're back in the UK there are two on static display according to wikipedia, RAF Lakenheath and the Air Museum in Duxford

The F15 is the hall of fame fighter who never lost a fight, the F22 is his protege who is better in nearly every way and everyone is afraid of him. The F35 is the f22 but instead of training under the F15 religiously since birth, it trained until it finished high school and then went to college and got its PH.D The F22 is the most deadly man made flying object in history, and the F35 is the F22 at 85-90% strength but also insanely smart. The F22 is so stealthy that the size of its radar cross section is somewhere between a bumblebee and a mayfly, while the F35's radar cross section is about the size of a hummingbird. A little bigger than the F22. The F22 is faster, more nimble, and overall deadlier in a 1v1, but the F35 is still absolutely an apex predator, and the F15 is a speed demon with missiles attached to it. *Edit, I've just learned that the new F-15EX "Eagle Two" is (among other upgrades) getting a massive boost to horsepower with new engines producing 11,000lbs MORE thrust, meaning it's literally getting supercharged and more technical upgrades like sensors and electronic warfare capabilities. If I'm understanding the numbers correctly its a nearly 60% additional boost to its thrust capability.
I will never forget flying into Luke’s, I was Naval Aircrew, I have flown into a lot of air fields, I have never seen so many fighters in ine place at one time. Just hundreds and hundreds of F-15. Never ending row after never ending row.
F-15 was designed by fighter pilots after Vietnam (late '60s) & developed to be a single role air superiority fighter (& was later modified into a 2-seater multi-role airframe, the F-15E). Came out in '71 & went AF wide in '72. Was the first jet to accelerate going straight up (as in it could touch its rear 2 wheels down on the runway, drop its speed brake, pull up, go full after burner, then accelerate like a rocket vertically). The Fat Electrician was slightly wrong w one of his comments: McDonald-Douglas engineers determined that the Israel F15 was able to continue to fly with additional thrust due to the flat surface of the jet & the large rear ailerons creating enough lift to keep it in controlled flight. The original F-15A models were replaced by the C's & most of those are near the end of their airframe lifespan. They plane has been modified over the past 3 decades for various countries like Japan, Saudi Arabia, S. Korea & others, leading to both improvements as well as an F-15S (Silent Eagle) that had stealth characteristics from the F-22 built in. The F-22 out performs the F-15 in every category performance wise, other than range & payload capacity (as well as being much more expensive per hour to fly). The new F-15 EX model will be a HUGE step up from the previous versions - faster, more fuel efficient, lighter, fly by wire = much more maneuverable, & have way more modern electronics. The new EX model will be able to go toe-to-toe with any 4th or 4.5 gen fighter on the planet while serving as a "missile mule" for planes like the F-22 & F-35. Nice video - Cheers!
The F-22 has stealth capabilities that is unmatched however the F-15 and F-16 are the workhorses of the U.S Air Force.

Engineers don’t make things easy for maintainers.
“Why is this part arranged like this?”
“Who thought putting this HERE was a good idea?”
And the fact that these birds are flown like they’re brand new when they’re many times over their lifetime flight hours and twice the average age of the guy maintaining them.

I’ve read articles that project the F15 in combat ops until 2030. Not sure how without building from the wheels up.

The chubby electron guy is awesome

I was always too scared to fly in one when given the chance because I had just been disgnosed with epilepsy during that time and wasn't sure if I was healthy enough, but man, seeing those things take off and even fly during air shows was such an amazing experience.

His short video on the B-1 bomber was GREAT!!
That was a vapor cone, not breaking the sound barrier. That's what happens when airflow over the airframe causes moisture in the air to condense.
If it wasn't for these three factors, the high lift amount of the body, large control surfaces, and speed/thrust it couldn't of done what it did.
that guy who landed with just one wing has balls of steel.. hope he got a medal from that ..
Ah, the mudhen our super missle truck with a crazy radar and super long range. I love her ❤

I work for the air force and the F-15 is what most pilots coming into the air force want to fly. They are quick and very deadly to hostel aircraft. It is without a question , My favorite jet.
P.S. Love your channel and your videos.
Love this one! 🇺🇸 talk your ish bro, you’re one of us!
We have upgraded the F-15 several times and even changed out the engines to GE F110 cause you know, we thought it was too slow. The F-15EX is the new version and got deployed to its first fighter wing like 2 weeks ago.
Glad The Fat Electrician is OK with your reactions to his videos. I found him listening to L3WG and started following him. He makes learning history so fun. I've been binge watching his videos.
I found the fat electrian lile 2 months ago, and i drive for a living.. so ive listened to just about every video he has out! This dude is HILARIOUS! And educational! I love it
That was my favorite bird to work on.... Best Aircraft ever!
Power to weight ratio is one of the best measurements to determine acceleration aka "quickness"
You should definitely watch the one on Percy Hobart. I thought I knew about all the main players in WWII. You'll love it!
Loaded AN/Alq-184 and AN/Alq-131 pods on so many F16s and A10s i lost count.
Did a decade of Active Duty USAF working electronic warfare systems.
Had an F16 fly over me when I was returning from lunch at work. 😂😂😂😂😂 it was headed to the Indy 500 to my knowledge. It happened so fast and loud and earth shaking. I was thinking mere mortals can completely forget about ……..everything.
TFE Is great for Military videos and he teaches a lot of stories that were left out of US History classes in school. I would love to watch more reactions to his stuff. I think you did it well and you now have a new fan.
By replace, they mean that the primary mission duties and capabilities of the F-15 are being incorporated into the mission and capabilities of the 22. The 22 is going to be used the way the 15 was used in the past.
Per Google:
"Over 950 are still in service. The US Air Force has 460 active F-15 of all models (C, D. E and E-X). Israel has 84 activ"
defiantly worth checking out the hoboart one British tank engineer pure genius
originally that was the plan, to replace the Eagle 1 for 1 with Raptors, but they were too expensive so only built maybe 20% of the original plan, and many Eagles were kept in service. if you're back in the UK there are two on static display according to wikipedia, RAF Lakenheath and the Air Museum in Duxford
My dad used to work on the F-15 un the late 70's and the 80's.
This is the first time I’ve seen one of your video. I can’t see the details precisely, but is that the Stormlight Archive in your bookshelf? Along with the Arcanum, by chance?
The Fat-E is all about community, and all of us here in the military enthusiast community Love to see y'all sharing personal perspective and knowledge as it all Adds to knowledge and understanding.
The F15 is the hall of fame fighter who never lost a fight, the F22 is his protege who is better in nearly every way and everyone is afraid of him.
The F35 is the f22 but instead of training under the F15 religiously since birth, it trained until it finished high school and then went to college and got its PH.D
The F22 is the most deadly man made flying object in history, and the F35 is the F22 at 85-90% strength but also insanely smart.
