  • Anna Regina was originally a Dutch plantation that was bought over by the British planters soon after Britain took over Essequibo in the early 1800s. The plantation owned by an Englishman who had two beautiful daughters named Anna, and Regina. From a plantation to eighteen (18) villages being merged to form the town of Anna Regina in 1990 by then President Desmond Hoyte. The town is located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam Region of Guyana
