10 Days on the Pacific Crest Trail (Episode 15)

- Episode 15 of my SOBO thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail takes me across 137 miles of the Southern part of the Sierra section. These 10 days on trail are a bit of a roller coaster! I reach the highest point of the PCT at Forester Pass and then drop down the other side towards Kennedy Meadows South.
The high point really feels that way in all senses, but then once I drop down physically, it feels like my mood and motivation drop with me. I finally let myself feel my fatigue from pushing through the Sierras and getting myself to Ridgecrest feels very challenging.
Reaching Kennedy Meadows South provides the morale boost I needed! I had heard so much about this iconic stop along the trail that it felt amazing to be here! Then I hiked to Walker Pass, where I was able to catch a bus into Ridgecrest for a well-deserved and much needed multi-zero rest. And a special guest meets me here!
Thank you so much for watching :)
Much love, Krys (aka Story) xox

I love that your husband joined you - the smile on both your faces is just beautiful - safe travels, love watching your journey!
Starting the episode in tears talking about human connection and then finishing it holding hands with your husband gave me all the feels! So happy for you that you got to experience the next part with him ❤
You are so fun to watch…you are always surprised by your own progress and success…makes me smile. Thank you for sharing your adventure, you are a delight to watch and listen to…inspiring. And happy to see Brian with you! Yay! 🥰🥾🥾⛺️
So happy to see Brian with you❤ You 2 are adorable.
You are inspiring this wimpy day hiker to push a little more to add some miles. I’ll never be a thru hiker, but I can go farther than I have been.
Awwwwww so happy to see your husband join you! Love the smiles 😊
Im so glad hes there!! That made me cry! ❤❤ yay
Beautiful views! I love seeing a sobo trip. 👍🐻🌲
Awesome seeing you enjoy my hometown, Ridgecrest. 😁👍
I was following you on TikTok and wondered the whole time how you would get though the Sierras later in the year and you did and it was gorgeous! Thanks for taking us along!
Seeing you with Rian after feeling alone on trail is so wholesome! You are sucha an inspiration!
Fantastic that Brian joined you for the last 700 miles!!! Looking forward to the rest of the adventure. Thank you...
I always appreciate the camera set up for your walk by! That is so many more steps to set up, walk it and go back for it. But it adds such another nice view for the trails. Thanks you for the extra effort!
Your daily mileage is SO impressive, another wonderful, beautiful video❤
Love watching these videos, it's a beautiful, spectacular landscape! I'd love to see the Sierras one day. What irritates me a bit is your pace. You're basically running though all of it, much seems about times and mileage. But I guess everyone enjoys these things differently. Hope you also found times to relax while wandering :)
Really enjoying this series. Very well done. Thanks for taking us along!
Wonderful footage and commentary! You’re so inspiring!
I was hoping Brian would join you at some point. I dig your solo hiking too, but it is so enjoyable to see you both together hiking. Can’t wait to see the finish. The high desert is an interesting and beautiful place.
So excited to see this section and that Brian joined you! I am down with a cold and recently re-watched the Great Divide Trail series. I jokingly thought.... Oh, I hope that they bring extra snacks, hahahaha! 😂 Big love, you are so inspirational! I'm so glad that Brian gets to hike the rest of the trail with you!
Any day in the Sierras where you do more than 20 miles is very hard on your body. Well deserved rest after that kind of hiking.
You really love the mountains!
The music on this episode was nice
Beautiful hike and nicely filmed Krysta. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Switzerland, Benjamin
Awe, this all looks so stunning! That's amazing the stars aligned for you to make it through- and in style
Loving the desert flower closeups! Another beautiful episode ❤
That was so nice sharing your journey, have to say u do great job videoing. Best of all u have your husband enjoying these moments with u
Very inspiring video. Love the views, and the way you capture them!
Thank you, i am looking forward to see the desert parts. I think you will enjoy that part together sith your husband. Bye, UW
Aw…at the end, i was hoping to see you pack your bear canister. Did all the food fit? What was the weight of the canister+food? Will be interesting to see in the next video if the Hubbie slows you down, since you’ve got your trail legs and he doesn’t.
Oh darn sorry I didn't show that! I was usually able to fit all of the food, except my snacks for the first day. The weight of the canister and food was a lot! I never weighed it, but it was heavy! And yes, my husband Brian did slow me down, which was a bit strange to slow down. But I was so happy to be hiking with him that it didn't bother me too much!
I am super interested in how the desert section goes. I am planning on section hiking the pct over five years and so I want to pick the best time of year for each section and wondering if fall is that time.
Sunday
Is your pack the Kakwa 55? How is that pack working out? Do you have a bv500 in there?
Yes! I love the pack, so comfortable! And quite durable considering what I put it through on this trail. I had a BV500 in the top yes!
Love your content! Wish alcohol wasn't introduced.
