People should not encourage people to be fat, its simple to know that being obese is unhealthy, people shouldn't bully them but advise them to get healthier.

In my opinion, there is not really any excuses. I don’t have anything against fat people, but people shouldn’t use dumb excuses. Even some diseases/conditions aren’t excuses. (This is a bit of a bad example because she isn’t “fat” but I’ll use it anyways) my mother has severe asthma, and when I say severe, I MEAN SEVERE. But although she can’t run, or barely even jog, she stills goes for walks as much as possible and he is in great condition! I’m so proud of her. Even little things, like lifting 1 pound weights or going for a half a mile walk does more than you think. If you are overweight and reading this, don’t be ashamed or sad because of it. Use it as a lesson or motivation to keep doing as much as you can to better yourself as a person.

I personally see it as not saying it's okay to be fat, but not shaming them or bullying them, because that can lead to people having eating disorders, or getting depressed (many cases are already caused by depression), and many times won't help people lose weight because they already know it's bad, of course that's not always the case, but it's still kind of messed up how many people treat people who are overweight.

I was obese from 5th grade to sophomore year of high school, and it sucked. The constant roasts, body dysmorphia, terrible self esteem, and just general self hatred was crazy at times. Being fat is definitely not a good thing and unless you have an actual medical problem, better yourself. Join some school sports teams, or go to the gym about 3 times a week if you're not in school, and eat right. I do believe that bullying fat people is wrong ( unless it's with your very close friends, and even then, not harshly ). Instead, try and lead them towards a better lifestyle.

Man, I wasn't really fat ever, so I don't know how it is for people that get slandered for being 'slightly overweight.' But I can tell for sure, you'll feel a lot happier when you start working out. I started 5 months ago, and I wasn't fat or anything; I was actually underweight. But I can definitely tell that I'm happier than I was before. Back then, I didn't really look at myself in the mirror. But now, there's not a day I don't look at it, even if it's just a quick glance, like "Who's that hottie." Before I started, I never bothered to look at my mirror. So yeah, I feel like my self-worth has improved a decent amount. I also started eating healthy since then and even learned to cook some meals just so I could keep going at it. You'll never know if you don't start. I also received a lot of praise. I'm sure everyone has a kink for praise, even if they don't know how to accept the compliment. It just makes me happy that people notice your progress and all the hard effort you put into yourself. Though I'm not saying this was just for other people's sake. I looked good enough; it was more for my sake, like "there are a few spots I could improve upon to be a better me" that sort of mindset.

  • @superhoodie14

I used to be 260 from highschool to age 23 until i finally made a effort to eat healthier and going to the gym after work. Got to around 210 until the pandemic hit and i gained most of it back. I got it back down to 225ish, but here are some things I noticed when i started losing weight:
Back pain went away, my allergies never came back ( used to have seasonal allergies but haven't had them for over 5 year), never got sick, i dont struggle standing up anymore, acne went WAY down, got into new hobbies (biking, hiking, and recently boxing), sleep much better, and my self esteem went from rock bottom to actually have confidence in my self.
The thing is, even before i decided to lose weight, i never once believed that I was healthy. I knew drinking soda on a daily basis and parking my ass on the couch was entirely my own choice and i was paying the consequences for it. There where times where my doctor told me i was close to being diabetic if i didn't shape up. My father went through a similar situation and got his weight in check.
Its one thing to know your fat, its another to deny being healthy and improving your body.

  • @ecproductions66
    @ecproductions66 11 месяцев назад +5

    My take is:
Don’t feel like you are a mistake because you are overweight. I was always the biggest kid growing up and I would’ve been mentally healthier if I stopped seeing my appearance as I constant problem. However, be healthy too. You can accept your body but also take care of yourself, maybe find a good physical hobby too. I started football a few years ago and although im still a big dude, i have a lot of muscle on me now and my weight is made up of high proteins and a lot of fruits too. So accept yourself for who you are, but push yourself to be even better if you can. I also highly disagree with the promotion of fat empowerment though and do think if we promote having a healthier lifestyle we would all benefit.

In my opinion, I feel like in some parts of the video he’s saying some truth, but at the same time he isn’t because I feel like it’s OK to want to improve how you look and want other people to improve as well, especially if they’re very unhealthy, but where I draw the line is when you make fun of people for being fat. the whole terminology of fat acceptance has change meaning various times, but what it actually means, is just too ACCEPT fat people for example, another way to use fat acceptance in a way that makes sense to you is thinking how it is for other people for example, back when I was in seventh grade, I remember kids used to bully me a lot for being fat, and everybody hated me ONLY because I was fat, no matter how nice I was no matter how much I try to fit in. I never did because I was fat and I feel like that’s the reason fat acceptance is a thing because back then in seventh grade, I remember when nobody wanted to be my friend there was only a certain group of people I could be friends with because they didn’t hate me solely on the reason that I was fat. I feel like the guy who made the video didn’t try to look into fat acceptance more because he was bashing Lizzo, but the reason Lizzo does all of this isn’t necessarily to only support fat people it’s for everybody, anybody who feels insecure about their body because this guy he hates fat people so much for what reason exactly? As he mentioned he used to be fat too, so he may know the struggle or he may not but a lot of people go through bullying because of being fat and even though they should become healthier, and even though they want to become healthier, it is a process you can’t just go from fat to skinny by night. That is why fat acceptance exist, because fat people should not feel like they don’t fit in in certain places just because they’re fat. And fat people should not be bullied just because they’re fat not to mention that they also shouldn’t be discriminated against because again they are fat. I just feel like he doesn’t really get it because it’s it was a process and still is a process for me to become more fit but in the meanwhile, it’s good to see people in the media who are like me because who knows this may in fact, help somebody it may help somebody feel happy and feel more included and represented in the media because they don’t see a lot of people like that and they think that they are not pretty and no matter fat or skinny. You should feel beautiful and that’s the point of fat acceptance again I feel like this guy should look more into what he was talking about.

Tbh I agree w this, and it sadly even spreads to children in most the u.s and pacific island countries and states etc.
Because, come on we shouldn’t be seeing kids in like 5th grade that can hardly even run a few minutes because they weigh like 180-200 lbs and when someone tries to talk w the, it’s seen as rude or inappropriate even though you’re trying to help with their mental and physical state and the. You have the other fat people who know they’re a fat chubby blubber back bubba kush body, but still don’t want to lose weight and either blame it on others or just simply ignore the fact that it can kill them if they keep it up. But instead of going outside and walking and jogging or even going to the gym, they go on to or on social media and spread their own propaganda to make themselves feel better about the fact that they’re at higher chance of dying to health issues and then proceed to call people “fat phobic”. Or worse, even make videos like that one fat acceptance song - “There’s nothing wrong with my body, fat is not a dirty word”. And tbh in all seriousness, they just need to stop being lazy and get up and also stop saying “I’ll do it tomorrow” *which turns into never*. It’s just sad.

Its not as if every single human being was subject to making themselves that way mate. Like both my parents got health issues that relate to weight and whatnot, you really gonna get mad at me cause I wasnt blessed with the specific genes to avoid it?
Update, Sorta: Bro's term for fat is straight up a blob bro, thats not how the whole term works? Like just say you dont like straight up blobs bro, I dont like em either.

Bro I'm glad we got like minded people who think fat acceptance is not okay. Big W for those people cause it's understandable that it is never okay. You can tell when they're fat they don't take care of themselves. They get irritated more quickly. And depression. (Not gonna go into specific's)
I'm against bullying the fat but accepting it is a different story. Alright, I don't want our future to look like BNL. (If you know, you know.)

What I'm about to say has nothing to do with weight, but during my first year of uni I kept getting McDonalds because it was near my university and I would get myself something to eat there. Before I didn't eat McDonalds much and it was quite rare for me to get it tbh, but I was spending money on fast food as soon as my loans came in. I realised what I was doing to myself months later and made a challenge for myself where I stay away from eating fast food and only eat food from home, and within a month my body started to feel better. I no longer felt like I was rotting from the inside. Home cooked meals are way better.

As a fat dude myself I see other fat people who make me realize how weird weight is considered. Cuz the range of obesity is too broad. I've just got a gut and low stamina but i see people whose legs have turned purple from trying to support their weight or people in a mobility scooter loading up on diet coke like its a healthy alternative. But when you see these people who look like amorphous blobs calling for fat acceptance y'all ain't fat y'all are morbidly obese. there is nothing wrong so long as you have the ability to live and function. if you can't walk not because you're handicapped cuz of injury or illness but because you have too much mass for your bones to support there is a problem.

Especially when you live in a country with a socialised health care system the amount of money spent on people who are having health issues due to being overweight is a joke

Everyone should try to be healthy. Your physical health is something that you can control a lot of. Of course you can’t control getting sick, or breaking a bone, but being able to control your muscular system is a huge advantage. You obviously have to be careful because overworking can damage your muscle, to the point you can never work it out again, but not enough people realize that this is one of the aspects of health we are in control of.

I wouldn't call myself "fat" but I am definitely on the chubbier side (5 foot 6 and around 160 pounds), and I have to say, that I mostly agree with this video. First, this "fat acceptance" stuff is very similar to feminism, and (some) LGBTQ groups/people, in the sense that people in these groups seem really entitled, and they pretend that them being the way that they are is something special, when it really isn't. Just like being fat, being a woman, or gay, isn't special, and won't win you any awards. You are a person, and that is it. If you are seriously fat, get out and do some exercise. Like I said, I'm not exactly "fat" but chubby, mostly for two reasons:
    1. I am pretty lazy
    2. A few years ago, I ate too much junk food, and drank way too much soda. Now I eat a normal amount of calories, and have pretty much completely cut drinking soda. However, this has still caused me to be on the bigger side today.
However, I have previously tried to lose weight, but couldn't really keep it up, because I wasn't able to keep up with counting calories, and wasn't always able to do 30 minutes of Beat Saber (which is my main form of exercise). This being my main form of exercise is because:
    1. I don't really own any gym equipment
    2. I don't like gyms (mostly bc the whole subscription thing, and the fact that I am 14, which I feel is too young to be going to a gym)
    3. I live in the Pacific Northwest, which has very extreme weather, so in the summer, it get's up to 90 F, and I hate the heat. In the winter, it gets to cold to go outside and do stuff.
But, I recently got my first job at a local grocery store, where I do about 6 hours of mostly being up and around a few times a day, so, that's 6 hours of constant exercise, ranging from simply standing around and bagging groceries, to some strength exercise in the form of pushing carts back into the store.
Anyways, basically what I'm trying to say is that I agree with this video, although bullying people for being fat isn't okay. However, this "big is beautiful" bullshit is just fat people coping with them being too lazy to commit to losing weight. Also being a girl isn't an excuse.
