I love Ippodo matcha. Tried several other brands but always come back to Ippodo. Just wish it was sold in UK shops as postage from Japan is expensive.🍵
please review the kanza because you'd be the first real review on the internet for it and it's the crown of Ippodo. It possesses mirume which is almost another dimension of taste after umami, it's the taste of 'youthfulness' not just 'savory' that the ummon doesn't even have.
i wonder from those which one could be better for baking! I love drinking matcha so I really loved the video! thank you for the introduction to the brand~
thanks for watching Dona!! 💜 for baking, it’s recommended to use culinary grade matcha! a more bitter & robust matcha powder would go well with sweeteners & other flavors used for baking ☺️ ceremonial grade matcha would be a little too expensive for baking, but if i had to choose out of these three, it would probably be shoin~
Hey, I just saw your video. Would you say all the three types of matcha you tried in the video work? Also, what materials are needed for matcha? Can you just use a spoon?
hi, thanks for watching! it all depends on your preference, what intensity of flavor you like, and how you plan to drink it. the most important tool is a bamboo whisk (chasen) since it’s designed to suspend the matcha into a froth, bringing out the flavors and aroma + prevents clumping. it also helps create a smoother and creamier drink. using a spoon isn’t ideal because it doesn’t dissolve all the matcha powder and can create more clumps. optional tools would be: tea sifter/strainer, bamboo tea ladle, matcha bowl w/ spout, whisk stand
@shirlesque hey 👋 thanks for replying! I'm planning on buying the organic matcha 20g from ipoddo. The price is $20. Do you think the matcha will be the right one for me to buy? Also, I'm going to be very honest I don't have much money, so I might buy only the whisk. Are you sure I can't use a regular whisk?
As you continue to research matcha, you will likely find that a bamboo whisk (also called a chasen) is a extremely effective tool. The bamboo whisk is more flexible and better for breaking up clumps of matcha powder, resulting in a smooth and frothy taste and texture. Metal whisks can leave a metallic taste in your matcha and are less effective at breaking up the matcha clumps.
@GerardoVargas-k3h i haven’t tried the organic matcha, but you can’t go wrong with ippodo, in my opinion. i just checked amazon and the horai matcha powder is currently $22 : amzn.to/3SJiDcJ there are also cheaper ippodo matcha powders on their amazon shop: www.amazon.com/stores/page/647D6D0E-A583-4D9E-A358-16331568DEC1?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_ast_store_HJ2SGM55TG6QQ1BRF411&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto honestly when i first got into matcha, i bought a cheap bamboo whisk on amazon like this one: amzn.to/46Cgohd you don’t have to invest in the expensive stuff in the beginning. there’s no right or wrong way as long as you enjoy the process and the taste, which you can adjust as you see fit. hope this helps and enjoy the matcha journey!
Ummon is my absolute FAVE - such a treat whenever I drink it
