Another thing I liked about the trailer was the way Hook introduced himself to Peter in a slightly evil way which was nice.

I think now it's just kind of an origin story with Hook. In the beginning he will be an ally to Peter Pan but in the near future will take on the mantle of Captain Hook in the sequel if that ever happens or even towards the end of the film.

It's the origin story of Peter Pan. Before he became Peter Pan the boy who doesn't grow up he was just an ordinary boy until he gets taken away to Neverland and probably towards the end he will be bestowed with the power of Pan.
