    Tati is one of those people who has medical issues and seeks out something she can do or change in order to make herself feel like she has control over the issues rather than accepting that sometimes human bodies just don't do what we want them to do. I feel bad that she is infertile. I know she has wanted a child for a long time. But her diet isn't causing the issue. It's just one of the things she has control over and it's something she can focus on to help put her at ease.

      That could be true but then there’s also the case of RawbeautyKristi who suffered from infertility her whole life, then she went on a keto diet and got pregnant naturally by accident. Our diet actually ties closely to our hormones so who knows.

      @@eh1126 Exactly. Dr. Neal Barnard (who has sued the USDA...**ahem**) has had many patients conceive through diet change. Diet has a lot to do with hormones. I shrank my uterine and breast fibroids changing my diet alone, and I healed other ailments the more I refined it, so I would have to disagree. In fact, I encourage most women to assess what they are eating if they're having some kind of female/reproductive issue.
      I don't understand why people aren't grasping that the nutrition you put inside of you is FUEL. Your cells need fuel and the correct fuel to make the correct hormones!!! If my doctor is NOT asking me about diet in the first interaction, I'm out.

I love them, but eventually I had to stop watching their content (on a consistent level) because of how dangerous it was for me at that age. my thoughts as someone who both has a bowel syndrome and was a health coach:
      when your health isn’t the way you’d like, you tend to obsess over it. your body is the only home you never leave. it’s tough to deal with symptoms and go through the stress of pinpointing what’s wrong. there are also dozens of camps in the nutrition space. every single one of them have a clique-ish group and diet culture language. there will always be extremists in every group and nutrition is BIG on that.
      ultimately, she’s probably put a lot of trust in people who may or may not be right in order to heal her body. there are some smaller aspects to what she says that could be true and rooted in studies, but the majority of nutrition is personal and individualized. there’s a fallacy that everyone has where the moment you discover something new, you feel the most entitled to share that info. but as you learn, you realize you don’t know nearly enough to coach everyone nor is your responsibility to.
      i think she should be careful and her audience should be careful too. hopefully she can find a way to explore her health without making it a part of her brand, cause this could be dangerous for those who are gullible.
      *sorry this was long. i can recognize the ideologies she’s talking about so i’m not surprised by her changes and thought i’d share from my perspective.

    Is she still trying to get pregnant? I'm wondering if all her pseudoscience about chemicals in the body stems from a desperation to have a baby. Does she think that if she changes her diet, gets rid of all these possible chemicals and hormones, she'll be healthy enough to conceive? I might be totally off about her motivation here, but it honestly sounds like it. Like she's grasping at any chance to get pregnant. If that's the case.. I feel really sorry for her, but she needs to stop spreading misinformation.

    I get where you're coming from but as a person in the scientific field the use of Glyphosates have been studied and found to cause problems in people that consume elevate levels of it (this includes working with it or living near places that use it extensively). Microplastics are of real concern and shouldn't be brushed under the rug doesn't matter what you believe in (or you plotical position) when the deepest parts of the ocean (that have been surveyed) and the highest altitudes on earth can still produce contaminated samples something is wrong. When plastic can be found in people's bloodstream and in the placenta of women who have given birth, that is a concern. When plastic or other extensively used chemicals are found to have negative effects on the endocrine system of living thingsand are effectively unavoidable, it shouldn't be listed of as a cultish belief but rather something more research should be done on. And for solutions to the created problems to be found.
    There are studies on these things. And people can choose to research things at their own depression just remember that most studies will only be funded if they can be found to be beneficial or profitable unless the researcher funds it themselves. There's a reason some scientific techniques are wide spread and others are not (bacterial control using viruses is a good example of lack of funding meaning lack or results in an extremely useful resource).

That’s basically what she’s saying when she says her body is responding well to higher protein and fat. Also, yes, there can be lots of bad things in tap water. Look at Flint Michigan. In my city our water tastes really sulfury so who knows what crap is actually in there. Not saying her pseudoscience isn’t nonsense but giving the benefit of the doubt that there could be logic behind what she’s saying, and she’s just saying it very poorly.

      I agree 100%. I have not watched her video so if she was only speaking about herself yes there are people who are having issues with ingesting some vegetables. To be honest in most cases it's because they were eating way to much of it, or too much of the same vegetable, ot too much of certain raw vegetables like raw spinach which has a high level of oxalate when not cooked. So it's not a good thing to eat too much of it raw, especially for certain people who are more sensitive to it. As she explained she used to do like many people who thi k they found health a lot of veggie smoothie which can explain a lot of things. Plus she did not say she does not eat veggies but less of it and overall more wholefood which everyone should do. Although her collagen powder is not really natural and wholefood either but that's another topic. I am currently studying to become a dietician in France and review a lot of nutrition research paper and what she said in the clip I saw at least can make sense for certain people. There is not one single way for everyone to eat healthy but there might be only one or 2 ways to eat healthy for one particular person.

My body does beautifully with dairy products, but if I eat a vegetarian diet (not even vegan) within a week I start feeling sick, and tired. Yet I know people that have been vegetarian their entire lives that are quite fine. I do think humans are very complex and many things in our diets are not black and white.
      Unfortunately I do the best I can with what I can afford and that means I can't eat perfectly for what my body craves because it's a very expensive diet. And I think many people are in the same boat.

      Yes as the other person said it depends. I am in France and nobody here think here that dairy is bad for your gut or cause inflammatory in general. If you have gut issues the first thing they'll look is if you eat a lot of processed food and sugar, alcohol content etc... If symptoms continue they'll process by elimination while trsting all type of food including vegetables... Plus when it comes to dairy there is different quality of dairy also. But If you're lactose intolerant obviously it is advice to not drink dairy but that's not the case of everyone and it'seasy and quick to be tested on that. Nuts are healthy, although many people are allergic or sensitive to eat so they just have to avoid it but that does not mean it is not good in general.

    She sounds like a keto nut. Thing about oxalates, I wrote a paper on this, but in no means am I an expert. So oxalates are an insoluble compound that get bound to calcium to form calcium oxalate monohydrate. These can build up in the kidneys and cause stones, but if you drink enough water, most people will be fine. Wanna know why? This compound is also synthesized in your liver, so there's no avoiding it, and most peoples kidneys are efficient at getting rid of them. But to counter her claim on *veggies have oxalates so veggies bad*, they also are formed from improper absorption of fats... so the lack of balance can also lead to oxalate "build up." Also yeah animal products have something plants don't saturated fats. The animal product diet isn't really sustainable long term for most people. Better hope her gallbladder doesn't give out, you need veggies and carbs to give your gallbladder a chance to emulsify and digest these fats or else your digestive system is really in for one and your risk of oxalate "build up" is the same, minus the benefits of fibers, vitamins, and heart healthy nutrients ... idk I'm just a year 3 bio major, but she sounds like the one patient we're cautioned about in each clinical study

    I want to preface my comment about Tati’s new mindset with an industry bias I have from working in molecular pathology and having a neuroscience degree so I’m not blindly going ‘do you girl!’… but finding a diet that works for you can be like finding the answer that was hiding in plain sight in terms of improving your own quality of life, and being invested in the details about what you consume every day is one of the first steps to making better choices. A lot of the points she was elaborating on HAVE been scientifically explored and definitely not talking out of her ass. She never outright recommended that her choices are the best ones across the board or that not eating vegetables is the cure for PCOS or the secret to anti-aging or something. Sharing her experiences in a Q&A while making her reasoning clear and deferring to professionals for the information that she’s basing her choices off of is a more responsible way to discuss nuanced topics like diets, so I struggle with the idea that she’s pushing propaganda… especially she’s really not wrong about any of her anecdotes because she repeatedly makes it clear that she’s only speaking on her own experiences and wellness journeys are completely subjective. At the end of the day, I don’t think she should be scrutinized with such concern when she just shared what was making her feel better from an evidence-based perspective because people wanted to know. Also hindsight is always 20/20 so its definitely valid to think you had peaked x time ago and realize later that it wasn’t what you thought! (Side note: She’s not wrong about the connection between GI and neurological health, it has been heavily researched and proven that the digestive system and CNS play off of eachother. Additionally, being invested in vitamin and mineral bioavailability when changing your diet isn’t conspiratorial.)

      I just saw a video of Angelika slamming Jeffree Star for a number of reasons that seem valid but one of them being his products are environmentally unfriendly and wasteful, then in this video proceeds to recommend powder puffs.
      Just an overall lack of self awareness. Also spreading misinformation about what being in a cult actually entails. This is an area I do have experience and education in. Caring about potentially dangerous chemicals in drinking water and changing from a vegan to more meat based diet, for personal reasons, does not signify cult practises. Tati has changed her spiritual beliefs, and this is the only issue raised that could indicate cult practice if, and it’s a big if, Angelika knew specifically what Tati’s new beliefs demand of her. Having to throw out tarot cards and crystals is pretty standard for most born again Christians. It’s not harmful to Tati’s mental and/or physical well-being.

It was sad to see because of course at first she would drop a few lbs but they weren't sustainable so of course she would "cheat" with foods not specific to the diet then blame herself and then the cycle started again. I tried telling her that her "cheating" on the diet was probably her body telling her it was lacking something and literally begging for certain things that she wasn't ingesting. Thankfully she has been healthy for years now and loves her body, eating a healthy diet while still allowing herself to eat not so healthy foods just because she likes them and enjoying her relationship with both food and her own body.

      Whenever I hear people say that influencers shouldn’t share or promote opinions with their followers or on their platform, I am concerned. I don’t want to put words in your mouth, but when I hear these types of comments, they seem to promote censorship and come across like “people are too stupid to discern or discover facts on their own and will believe anything their favorite influencer says, therefore said influencer should shut up”. This may very well be true, but we can’t shield people from information simply because they’re too lazy to think for themselves. People are allowed to have their own opinions, no matter how wrong and we should be encouraging people to think more and be more mindful about the information they consume, not gagging people who say things we don’t agree with.

    • @lillypieisme

      @@LadyVioIa I agree, I guess I didn’t word it correctly. I think she should be able to express her opinions on her channel, but there is misinformation that she fully believes in so she seems convincing. I think THAT is the part that is more concerning, not simply stating her opinions which she has every right to do. I love Tati and have been watching her channel since probably 2014 and I continue to watch her, but recently she’s been almost fear-mongering. Like her fear of “chemicals” in products is a bit misinformed and a lot of the “chemicals” do more good than harm for the skin. And now her speaking about how vegetables naturally contain chemicals that the body can’t break down. Many people will not do their own research and just stop eating vegetables or stop using their favorite products and etc. That is the only problem I think most people have with her opinions.

    • @LadyVioIa
      @LadyVioIa Год назад

      @@lillypieisme Thanks for your thoughtful reply and for clarifying your position. I understand where you’re going, but here is my beef: if everything Tati said was 100% factual and everyone agreed with her and her followers blindly followed her factual advice, no one would say anything, but we would still have the same problem. The problem being that most people are followers and don’t actually vet or verify the information they consume. Rebuking Tati for sharing erroneous or misleading information doesn’t actually fix the problem, because if it’s not Tati sharing questionable information, it is someone else and so if we go down this path of discouraging people from sharing opinions, we will always be basically policing or censoring speech (which is bad) instead of addressing the root cause. Instead of going after random people on the internet for disseminating their views, I think it’s much more beneficial to hold ourselves accountable for what we choose to consume media wise. We have to become more responsible and smarter instead of demanding that people on the internet walk on eggshells. I know that there are some young impressionable people on the internet (I have young daughters, so I’m speaking from experience), but shielding their eyes from certain ideologies doesn’t help them make informed decisions, it just makes it harder to discern fact from fiction when they inevitably encounter questionable content. I hope that makes sense.

    • @lillypieisme
      @lillypieisme Год назад

      @@LadyVioIa Yes of course the fault is on the person for not doing their own research and we should encourage people to think for themselves (which my generation has been hearing that phrase since childhood) but human nature comes to play. People will always follow and believe in the people that they trust. I’m personally not rebuking Tati and think she should stop speaking on her opinions and I hope others are not trying to silence her, but I think it is fair to point out that someone’s opinions are not factual and with a huge platform and audience, they should be more careful about what they “think” is factual and what actually is and putting that out there for their audience. Both sides of the coin have a right to speak and both have their good reasons.
