I'm from Bangladesh and that Rana Plaza tragedy is a manifestation of *what could be* to a lot of other buildings in this country. Too many unplanned or untrained constructions and builders/architectural designs here. Even living apartments where regular people live in. Unless you're from the elite parts of Dhaka/Bangladesh or your house is professionally planned all the way, you're set up for failure 1😅
You forgot to mention, the same Europeans who caused tension in Rwanda sat back & ate popcorn while the genocide happened. Instead of helping, they ignored due to seeing them as inferior, until enough media touched on this & they intervened
1st one was like Engineer: yo sorry but theres big cracks on every corners of the buillding. Evacuate now!! Owner: nahh dont listen that engi- *Proceeds to collapse*
I remember my teacher talking about the triangle shirt waist factory fire. What a terrible tradegy it was. May the people who died in there rest in peace.
I admit to not having heard of the Triangle Shirtwaist Company fire until my Sophomore year of high school and when I heard the word "shirtwaist" I foolishly thought the company manufactured the waistlines of shirts. However I soon came across a book on the tragedy at my local library and it was how I learned that shirtwaists (often called "waists" for short) were instead close fitting women's blouses that had a row of buttons down the front of the blouse.
If you ever do another video on this topic, please include the Beirut explosion. There's a really good video with 3d diagrams of what happened and why. Basically another example of people not following safety guidelines. There's literally an entire channel dedicated to gathering video documentation of all the different angles of the explosion. It's absolutely tragic.
I simultaneously love and hate just how much thought went into Balloonfest. All that work, and nobody thought that that much of anything is a bad idea.
the balloon shit from cleveland is insane 😭 i was born years later and have grown up in the area but still, people talk about how big of a tragedy it was
I remember being told about the Shirtwaist Fire in high school...a tragedy that didnt need to happen. But sometimes it takes a tragedy to wake people to reality. They can lament for their lack of foresight for the incident, but it wont bring them back.
Things still haven’t gotten better in that region. Congo and Rwanda can’t seem to live peacefully. It doesn’t help that other foreign nations keep interfering.

2:50 Native Ohioan here. I remember hearing about this in history class, and let's just say that the balloon fiasco was an incredibly grave miscalculation. The people in charge of planning the whole event really didn't think it through for more than 5 seconds
The triangle shirtwaist factory fire is also said to have been caused by one person throwing a cigarette in a trash bin full of papers and cloth. People seem to forget how dangerous fire is, even when it’s just the ash of a cigarette. Also, thankfully, the owners of the factory got charged with manslaughter 2 weeks after the incident
If I remember correctly the alarm did go off during the start of the Bhopal disaster but it was turned off to avoid panic. The alarm was also only blaring within the factory.
@GMStarworld I understand where you come from. But the whole deal between Rwanda and Congo is complicated. And it's mainly between the governments. Both citizens know nothing.
Note about the molasses flood: One of my favorite bands, (Lemon Demon/Neil Cicierega) had once drafted or at least concepted a song based around the accident that was meant to appear in an upcoming album of his. Neil is from Massachusetts, the state where the flood took place, and the premise of the song was that on the 100th anniversary of this event these jars of cure-alls would be sold out on the streets. However, the song was cut and removed due to the fact that real people died in the tragedy and he didn't want to disrespect the victims or their families. The song premise later got recycled into a song called Sweet Bod, which appears on the aforementioned upcoming album that would later be known as Spirit Phone, and is based upon the legend of the Mellified Man. (Spirit Phone is an absolutely phenomenal listen, by the way! I would highly recommend it if you're into pop rock geek rock, stuff like They Might Be Giants or Oingo Boingo if you know what I mean-)
I actually watched a video about the Rana plaza on the interpreter channel and it's kinda funny how similar they're presentations are. They use the same words, the same sentences, even the same jokes and sarcastic comments. Word for word. Kinda funny
Is it weird that I feel a lot worse for the horses and marine animals that were harmed by the Balloon Disaster than the two fisherman who drowned? Maybe it's because these disasters could have been prevented if it wasn't for human greed and/or carelessness.
The organization is a reckless, ironic a-holes considering the fact that they caused environmental damage due to their brilliant idea of releasing helium balloons all wasted for nothing but chaos.
And they could've avoided the whole thing by just releasing those balloons on another day... one where the forecast was ideal for releasing a lot of balloons.
For the young entrepreneurs touch by the angel of success. Know the safety history, local laws and building codes. Also this is from a psychological perspective watching different customers selecting their fountain drinks because humans are programmed innately with bias preferences. I noticed the video author selection of bad guy in the rana plaza collapse but nothing about Triangle shirtwaist factory? Maybe because one is Bangladesh while the other is my beautiful home of the big apple
Imagine dying in an ocean of sticky syrup and the last thing u see is the sky in a shade of brown That certainly is a sweat way to die if I ask me (Sry this isn’t sopposed to offend anyone and RIP to all)
This may not have been what the video was about, but it is important. To have eternal life, to escape hell, do not to try to do religious deeds and reform yourself morally. It's like offering a bribe to God to clear you of your bad deeds, because a good work will not clear bad deeds, like in any court. If you’ve so much as lied and stolen you already stand as a liar and thief before God. The Bible states that the wages of sin is death, but that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. This is God’s mercy: Most people know Jesus died on the cross 2,000 years ago, but many may not consider that He paid for our fine of death. We broke God’s law, Jesus paid our fine on the cross. He rose from the dead 3 days later, and all that you have to do to have eternal life and to be saved from hell is that while you should of course turn from your sins, the only thing to help you is to repent to God, to trust alone in what Jesus did for you on the cross rather than trying to make your own way to God. If you would turn to Jesus and trust Him, you will be saved from hell and eternal death. It's not about joining a religion or trying to earn it, but just turning to God and being given mercy because of what He did for you. Why can you go to heaven? Because Jesus paid for your sins already and will clear your case when you simply trust Him to save you. Jesus said that He is the Way, Truth, and Life, and that nobody goes to the Father otherwise. There’s no other way about it. The validity of this promise is clear through the prophecies of the Bible being fulfilled throughout the years with many being fulfilled now, with one example being in the nations coming against Israel in the current day such as Iran, Russia (which really wasn’t much of a developed or powerful area at the time), and Turkey among others.
The Rana Plaza incident actually reminds me a lot of an incident in South Korea called the Sampoon Mall disaster

Yes, Union Carbide established a pesticide plant in Bhopal, India in 1969....The vocals were correct but your animation said 1996. But Great Stuff!!!
If I remember correctly the alarm did go off during the start of the Bhopal disaster but it was turned off to avoid panic. The alarm was also only blaring within the factory.
Union Carbide would later split off its assets to pay debt before being bought by Dow Chemical. It founded the Energizer company in the process.
