So happy to hear you really liked OUR favorite cruise line - Celebrity! We haven't strayed since our first Celebrity cruise many years ago. Why mess with success?? We like the way do pretty much everything! Travel home safely tonight & thanks for another wonderful video!
We were always loyal to Royal. About 12 years ago we tried Celebrity for the first time and have not looked back. We cruise twice a year and they are always on Celebrity. You are correct the little touches on Certainly make a big difference. We have never met a crew member without a smile on their face and a warm hello.
Glad that you got a taste of a first-class cruise-line like Celebrity. I think that this will give you a good idea of what Holland America would be like (the Carnival Group's answer to Royal Caribbean's Celebrity). A good balance of class and relaxed, . . . a blend of formal events and smart casual or elegantly casual/informal attire, . . . very good dining (food-quality plus service), . . . and some other things that you will identify with an actual experience. After your first H.A.L. cruise, you can let us all know how closely they compare. [smile]. I fully agree that the best time to experience Celebrity is after gaining at least Diamond status with Royal Caribbean, or vice versa, so as to get two cruise-lines' benefits for the price of one. Hurray!
You know, I have often thought I didn't want to try Holland America. Though, I must say, everyone who speaks of Holland carries it in very high-regards and brags about how wonderful they are. I might have to try it out one of these days!
Hi Brandon! What wonderful 5 things to have on your cruise. It’s so nice to have lots of other cruisers that are willing to strike up conversations. I have to say that your eyes look even more beautiful with the color of your Boss shirt! It’s always wonderful to catch your videos.
Thanks Patty. I am definitly not good with a lot of words and appreciate the correction. My main goal on this ship was to learn how to pronounce "Uruguay" correctly 😂
The Infinity was our first Celebrity experience and since then have been hooked. Met some besties from that sailing doing the Panama Canal and always looking for the next best trip. Done the Millennium last year, got the Solstice in a few months, and doing the Beyond next year and I think we may be sticking with it as our primary for the fact that they feel modern, relaxed, and a great way to somewhat obtain relatively affordable luxury.
Thank you Brandon, this was absolutely fabulous all the information that you have provided about the 12 days cruise, it’s been extremely helpful in what we can expect with this sailing.
Glad you enjoyed Celebrity. I suggest you try one of their Edge class ships, I think you’ll like them even more. My theory is the port of embarkation also affects the formality of a cruise. On RCCL out of New York (Bayonne), saw a lot more tuxes than on sailings out of Florida.
Hey Dan! I would LOVE to! Problem is, those only do longer sailings and I am much more limited in my availability to take off that long! Do have Edge booked but not until the end of 2024! I hope I can make it that long!
Weekend cruise on Allure I also prefer a small ship but would find a group cruise so much fun so I am in if you do it. A fellow NC resident. I was born and raised in Miami but have Lived in Western NC for the majority of my life so kinda opposite of you. So sorry to hear of your loss. Love your videos
Longer cruises you will see it but I really thought Celebrity would have more high end or more formal attire and that just wasn't the case except for NYE. Xmas was dinner was almost a non-event on Infinity which I found interesting.
Celebrity is my line of choice, once on the Millennium and twice on the Equinox convinced me. I'm curious about the Edge class but from what I've read and seen online, I'm not so sure they're the ships for me.
I will be there this Thursday and can't wait!! They don't have "weekend cruises" per se but they do have several 4 night long-weekend cruises that leave on Thursday and return first thing Monday!
Hi Brandon, I am really appreciating your Celebrity content. My wife and I have sailed with Carnival, Princess and in the last 8 months, 3 sailings with Royal. Side note...just got off this morning from Royal's Navigator of the Seas here in LA, and here I am looking at cruise videos. That's when you know you have a cruise addiction...ha ha! Anyway, I think we may give Celebrity a try at some point. We are ready for an elevated experience. Your videos are making me VERY curious.
Hey Aaron, thank you!! And join the cruise addicts club!! Navigator used to do the Weekend Sailings pre-Freedom and has a special place in my heart! Glad you are enjoying! Doing a 4 night on Celebrity later this week, so stay tuned for more videos!
@@TheWeekendCruiser If I had one negative about Navigator, Playmakers was a lot smaller compared to Freedom of the Seas. So far we have sailed on Freedom, Navigator and Harmony. We might prefer the smaller ships, especially when they are amplified. Looking forward to your 4 night Celebrity review.
Funnily enough we just did a Celebrity cruise, and I thought I would be fine just wearing something fairly casual for dinner. Instead I noticed most people dressed up a little at night, and most of what I brought was much too casual for the MDR in the evening I actually went out shopping in one port to buy some nicer clothes.
That's interesting. I didn't get that impression on mine. It wasn't they were poorly dressed but men were not wearing jackets and few dresses for the ladies. Amazing how the line and sailing can change.
@@TheWeekendCruiser It was more I thought I could wear tee shirts and jeans, but people dressed quite nicely. I mean nice trousers for the men and women when they were not in dresses. I have a pretty pair of red sandals, that are a little dressy and went with the frocks I took for the evening chic. However the guidelines said no sandals in MDR, so I took my high heeled court shoes instead of the sandals. Then I saw other women did wear dress sandals. However people dressed in smart casual for MDR, not just tee shirt and jeans. I really liked Celebrity, but I am not sure I will go on with them if I go cruising again. That’s because I am Australian and we usually only get one ship from each line. Celebrity are sending Celebrity Edge next season. From everything I have seen of that ship, I am pretty certain that we would want a balcony, cabin, not a cabin with a large window. The bottom part of the window is quite high. I am a little more than than 5 ft, and I don’t think I could lean out over the bottom window and see much. I am a little claustrophobic, so the idea of infinity veranda cabins fill me with some dread (particularly when the blind is lowered- too much like an inside cabin for my liking). Also it sounds like the Sky Lounge at the front of the ship on deck 14 will now be only for suites. Sorry for the long post, but I am so disappointed Celebrity is sending an Edge class ship next year. If Celebrity return the Solstice class ships to Australia I would be happy to go on them, but definitely not the Edge class.
@@brontewcat I am 100% with you on the smaller ships and Solstice was a great starter class for me! I have looked at the Edge in Australia and she is also CRAZY expensive right now!
Just got off the Celebrity Edge and I have to say your review was right on the mark.. the ship layout on the larger Celebrity ships can be a bit confusing, we found ourselves backtracking to find what we wanted to find on more than one occasion (but were on a cruise, we laughed and moved on) .. or all of a sudden be at Eden for example and no idea how we got there, when we were looking for something else.. LOL.. We’ve done Princess and Celebrity so far and although Celebrity does get the extra Point Princess sure does have its benefits too. Our next cruise in Feb is on Oceania Regatta.. that should be interesting.
Hi Blackbird, I did Carnival in 2009 and was my first sailing I ever went on but have not been back recently. Never tried NCL but in my mind, it is the most similar to Royal Caribbean.
Hey Tyler! So far, I am loving it! Though, do to life circumstances, I have not been able to stay there too much! Looking forward to being there more in the coming months!
Hey Ted, saw your note and finally brought myself to post about the passing of my father. Needed to re-prioritize the month of January/February as it has been a rollercoaster since New Year's Eve. Thanks for checking-in and I know he would appreciate that.
@@TheWeekendCruiser So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Loosing a parent is very difficult. I'll be looking forward to posts when your life has settled down.
Hi Brandon! I can’t wait to try Virgin and Celebrity. Carnival and Princess was a NO for me.
Curious why Princess was a no go? Have friends that swear by them.
