- We just got back from our Holiday Vacation! Joe Bonamassa, Dave Amato, Sebastian Robertson, and Donnie Boehm stops by Norman's Rare Guitars and they talk about a special guitar Sebastian brought in to show Norm and also about the benefit celebrity jam for the Midnight Mission featuring Joe Bonamassa, Dave Amato, Ray Parker Jr and many more! Make sure to RSVP by emailing Don at donboehm@yahoo.com This event will be on Saturday January 14th starting at 7pm at Don's place. Hope to see you there and raise money for LA's Homeless!!!
I wish I could like this twice. I'm a paramedic and I interact with the homeless, regularly.
I loved what Norm said, it could've been any one of us.
Great work. Cheers from Maryland, guys!
Good on you being a paramedic. You guys never get the recognition or pay you deserve. All the best from Liverpool UK. Home to a lil known beat combo you may have heard of? ;) Lol. Cheers big ears.
TRIPLESEVENSIX I do believe I know the group of which you speak, my friend 😉
geetarbube Lol. Cheers mate. You are miles away but to you & all like you thank you for getting to emergencies in double time. A family member has been real sick the past year & I cant thank the paramedics for getting here so fast. Thanks buddy & stay safe. ;)
TRIPLESEVENSIX thanks for the kind words and best wishes for your loved one
geetarbube Cheers mate. Have a rocking geetar playing 2017. Play your geetar man!! ;)
Thumbs Up for the Midnight Mission, thanks for helping the Homeless.
God bless you guys for genuinely helping the homeless. Living in and around Los Angeles breaks my heart to see how widespread the problem is. I hope every dollar you raise stretches as far as it can to help them anyway they can.
Tim Flohr is it true they're being shipped to fema camps?. Sydney CBD, was cleaned up for the olympics in 2000. Favella's might be the Wests dirty secret I think.
I appreciate your efforts for the homeless. Thank You.
I love how Sebastian is telling the story and you see 3 guys who look genuinely interested and attentive to the tale, and then you see Joe's face which screams, "this needs to be mine. I don't care about anyone else."
KO Bossy Agree...with me I noticed it in his body language
It's great to see guys at this level doing something to help others in need. Refreshing. And they are all great players!
Thumbnail looks like a guitar funeral.
Shabba!
Bow your heads kids, disco died in 79 and now we are praying for the death of Nickelback.....
Thank You Norm, love these pieces...
4:50 At that spot, the look on Joe and Sebastian's face when the guitar bangs (gently) against the case was priceless.
So nice to see this compasion. Very proud of you guys. Thanks.
Norman ought to have a rock concert in the parking lot 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎆🏢🏢🏢🏢🎸✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Raise Money For Nurses and Long Term Care Providers etc . 💫☮️💖
Only Joe Bonamassa walks around wearing his own merch.
Its the only thing he had clean.
zakk wylde
He probably gets it free. :-)
Look at Joe standing there. He looks so out of place, like he doesnt belong. He is such a geek that he would wear his own apparel and so modest that he doesnt realize he is the best guitarist standing in that group of talented musicians.
Jay Evans yea that's borderline douch nozzle.
What a great and interesting piece, beautiful guitar! Sebastian lost a little bit of history when he forgot that Bob did perform twice in between tour 66 and Rock of Ages - he performed with the Band at the Woody Guthrie Memorial concert and at the Isle of Wight.
Really nice guys! Nice to see musicians coming together and doing something like this to help people out... good on you guys. Love the guitar! Cheers!
I just love watching these videos -- short and sweet. Btw, I'm not a guitar player but love the instrument and enjoy hearing from those that are.
That was the ‘Judas’ guitar! Incredible.
Is this an autopsy?
Joe's eyeing it off thinking 'i need to buy that baby'
Very cool.!
Aside from the great artist interviews, I always enjoy looking at the really cool guitars hanging in the background. Happy New Years to everyone.
Paul Simmons I
The ones that baffle me are where there’s some legend playing on camera in the middle of the store, and wandering around in the background are some shoppers who probably don’t even play guitar just mindlessly browsing.
Plug it in and play it!
Pre Covid days..... time to bring this BACK in 2021!!!!
What a Great Group of Guys.
So... neither of the people in the title are in this video...?
Thats how clickbaiting works
"Bob Dylan / Robbie Robertson Guitar" The guitar is in the video
Holdington NO, that's how the English language works. nothing in the title even eludes to BD or RR being in the video.
I fell for it. But then again... Dylan talking about gear in a youtube video -like that will ever happen.
No, I think you will find that is how american bullshit advertising works, dont blame the english language.
I Hear FIRETRUCKS Again Because Of JOE!!!! He Just Can't Help It!
Or maybe the Homeless attacked someone minding there own buisness, The homeless people are Dangerous, Rude, and Destroy the streets of LA... so yea keep them hanging around.
Wow, if only that guitar could talk and tell us of all the nights the audience boo'd and boo'd when they were witnessing history and those moments those of us didn't get to witness and wish for a time machine.
You are a good man Mr. Harris. God Bless you and your family.
I myself had seen this guitar hanging on the wall in the Band’s Shangri-La facility during the Last Waltz, and it is featured in the DVD packaging from 2001, but I never knew that it had such deep history dating back to Bob Dylan’s first tour with the Band.
You guys are top notch. 👍
HAVE A GOOD TIME AND RAISE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE MIDNIGHT MISSION GUYS
Good on you guys, with great success comes great responsibility!
wonderful stuff,well done all.
A great clip, for a great cause!
The Midnight Mission Show was Very Nice!!!!
Enjoyed that, especially after just reading Robbie's autobiography.Thank you.
So the guitar walked into the store ?
Tell me…why on earth would anyone give this a "thumbs down"?
Awesome Video!!!!!!! Rock On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know anyone who likes Joe Bonamassa's music, I don't know anyone who pays money for his records or pays money to see him live. How in the world does he afford his guitars.
Robbie Robertson is a local musician from London,ON Canada
Carl Shelley He's actually from Toronto and spent summers on the 6 Nations reserve outside of Brantford where his mom is from (she's Mohawk), Rick Danko is from a tiny village called Blayney just outside of Simcoe, Richard Manuel is from Stratford, and Garth Hudson was born in Windsor and grew up in London. Good ol small town Ontario boys made it bigtime.
Yeah, Bob Dylan right there.
Oh the band
39K views in two days just because Bob Dylan's name is in the title I guess
Joe will probably end up buying that guitar 😂👌🏼
He'll end up buying Norm's place someday from Norman's Son.. Wait & See!! Oh and they named the JB humbucker after him before he was born too..
Ca
I found this video to be very educational as far as my own Telecaster is concerned. It led me to dig a little deeper into its history. Seems I own a '65 blonde with a maple neck and cap. The fret board and cap seem to be one solid piece and transition logo. No skunk stripes anywhere. Who knew? Thank you for sharing.
I wish I knew about guitars. Let alone I wish I could play one
wow. that guitar is responsible for millions of albums sold....wow. glad i have a maple neck strat without the cap and with an alder body even though thats not rare anymore.. the 1/31/17 tele tuesday has a maple 1967 maple cap for sale. too beautiful!
Ok. So how great a guitarist is Joe..
Perfect 10?
As a Dylan fan, I have to say DAAAMN
why Norman have a big guitar store .. bcz norman is humbled cool n nice guy 🤘😎
Great cause
that guitar is priceless
It's a slab of wood with some metal attached.
Cool
Joe's the man👍🇺🇸
Wish we could see all your guests play.
I now own that guitar.
Nice guitar history
I want to go, it be a dream to meet robbie robertson :(
Wow!
Epic Guitar!! Epic Crew !! G :D London
It’s strange listening to Norm without Joe noodling over him.
If you've never met Norm, do some business with him, I did in 1981. There is no one more ethical than Norm. I'll spare you the details but safe to say, when this guy dies, he's going straight to heaven.
maybe they should take the homeless to a job fair and have the homeless play the blues for them. that way everyone learns something.
Love my maple cap. Yep.
I have The Last Waltz on DVD and my music service has the 4 CD box set. It's one of my go to albums when I wanna play music at work but can't do metal til after a certain time.
Norman can you tell me about the blue Tele, I think, on top row by Joes' head? Love the color.
Thank you, I thought I knew what it was by shape but was wrong! LOL
JB for some reason, reminds me of BUDDY HOLLY w/out glasses.young ,polite ,musically brilliant .not full of himself .he has to promote himself. you don't get rich on Blues.
That's right ... the black Telecaster that plays Dylan when he changes the history of rock'n'roll
For a more in depth story about this guitar, go to Julien's Auction channel and watch an interview with Robbie Robertson talking about the history of the guitar. The video is titled "Historic Fender Telecaster-Robbie Robertson/ Bob Dylan Music Icons 2018". Very interesting.
Really thought i would see Bob and Robbie by the title.
In 100 years they´ll put that Tele on an altar and worship it ...
" We gave Joel the camera. Its like giving Michael J Fox the camera so its a little jittery"- Norm Oct 2012
Joe Bonamassa: seems like a nice guy.
Cult of the guitar is ridiculous. David Gilmour can take a squire off the wall in guitar center, plug iit into any amp in there, and guess what....he’ll sound like David gilmour.
On the other hand if he handed you his guitar in his studio, guess who you WONT sound like.……………
The fuckin yokes, I love em.
All five of you guys are wearing Black. Mr Cash nods with approval.
Joe is the best, he’s the human Wikipedia of guitar
Dave needs a wizards robe. Great player.
This guy bonamassa can't stop buying guitars ,wow he is a super horder....
You should check out the tour that reverb did of Nerdville - Joe's home. It's pretty epic!
So we have some cool people showing us a really cool historical guitar, and trying to raise some money to help homeless people. All totally admirable stuff.... And some people are bitching because Bob and Robbie arent in the video (even though it was never suggested that they would be) and because Joe Bonamassa is wearing something with his own name on it. F**king unbelievable. Any opportunity for a good whine, eh guys? lol
.. (even though it was never suggested that they would be)... -Bullshit, read the title, man. I love Norm's videos and this is a worthy cause but the title is clickbait, don't go down that road, Norm.
Very slick NRG - just realized I misread the title - no Bob..
this reminds me of the night I introduced Dylan & john Lennon to marijuana. good times
t mac ...are you sure this is a true statement... wasn't associated with Beatles but did know Dylan in earlier days...
just curious as timeline seems off as I remember it with Beatles arriving 1964 etc
Joe Bonamassa is such a geek but boy could he play guitar.
I CANT WATCH THIS WITHOUT MARK SAYING ALL EQS AT NOON
Let us hear how it sounds!
what's the difference between maple cap and one piece maple neck? (apart from the constructive one)
I miss REO Speed Dealer !!
So, no appearance on the part of Bob Dylan actually
man I like this very much to help out the homeless people and play music to help people is one of the things music can do its magic have a great day friends check out THE DON HARRISON BAND >>>>>>> my dads music 1970s classic rock
in la there are so memmy people on the streets its a sin god bless jg
Can't understand the THUMBS DOwn ????? Thumbs Up from me....Eric
STUDIOCHINCHAN thumbs down because Bob Dylan isn't in the video
A "what" 345? @1:18 … did he say "blonde 345"? Meaning Gibson 345?
He did say that, and I can't imagine he meant anything other than an ES 345.
Wow. Didn't know there were ever any blonde 345's, bet there are not many
out there. Maybe only a small number made?
Is that George Chuvalo on the left
LOL, double neck brigade. Kind guys, good reasons, and just contribution.
looked alot better black
Cool video but the title of the video really should be ""Bob Dylan/Robbie Robertson's Guitar visits Norman's Rare Guitars". Maybe that's what you meant to say..
at it was for a good cause
where's bob dylan?...
In the box
fragment7 I think they mean it was Robbie Robertson’s guitar from the Dylan era, when The Band played with Dylan
He didn't show up to his own Nobel Prize ceremony. You think he's going to visit a guitar he gave away 50 + years ago ?
Bob Dylan / Robbie Robertson Guitar visits, not Bob himself
's guitar
I notice I've never yet heard a price because you know so many people would probably die from a stroke or something if they realized what some of those guitars cost. You have to be rich to ever own one of yours
Wall St executives buy them.
