You've got some great views there. I went back to this one twice in 2016, didn't sound once! As per your observations and my latest tour, it's gone for good :(
mrmattandmrchay it was a great shock to find it gone. I had gone round to the bottom corner of the peel centre as I thought I may be able to see it from there, but to my surprise I couldn’t. I thought it must be the trees so I went round to the station car park and found that is was no longer there :(
I grew up next to a mental hospital (Oakwood Hospital) and there wasn't any kind of warning to let the public know someone had gone walkabout. First thing we knew was when we saw the 'bluecoats' (security) walking the streets round the hospital. **EDIT** That would make a great tone for the alarm clock on your phone. Just try sleeping through that when it's only a foot away from your head. :-)
UPDATE: as of 15th March 2018, this siren is no longer up UPDATE 2: siren B (Wokingham Road) failed to activate for the 10AM test on 7th May 2018 UPDATE 3: As of the 13th December 2019 all sirens except siren F and G have been removed UPDATE 4: As of 10th August 2021, siren F has been removed with siren G possibly still standing.
Lived here for 24 years (since birth)
It’s weird not hearing this every Monday morning anymore.
DAMN THIS ONE WORKS PERFECTLY
3:06
When someone sneaks up behind you and earrapes you
so true
Damn quick run up
I believe on this day for some silly reason they reversed tested them

@@BritishRailwaysandSirens I think we should start restoring the 3t22 because it’s the only remaining ancestors of the cs8
@@LilThomas2010 the 3t22 has nothing to do with the klaxon cs8
@@dank980 dampers
@@LilThomas2010 still has nothing to do with it
Sounds like a 3T22
Damn those dampers work perfectly
CoyDog790 IKR?
I was Surprised it was one of the first to be taken down
I LOVE the sound of those sirens!
Are the one on the poles still there? No I’m not referring to the ones on the towers.
as far as I can remember none of the Broadmoor ones were installed on poles. I think some Carstairs sirens in Scotland were/are though

They only put sirens at Rampton and Broadmoor because they are “secure phsyciatric hospitals”
@@oofaviation8638 there is a siren system at Carstairs and a singular siren at Ashworth as well!
I'm desperate to see these in action, I had better get my arse in gear before they all go!
They have started to remove them? Such a shame, I always thought these would be up for a long time.
Just Plain Weird Goat ikr like why replace something that still works?
forever spinnin18 they are old, unreliable and not needed. They would cost too much to keep working
Just Plain Weird Goat 🐐 for u
jeez 3:06 just made me jump

One in Plymouth too!
Nope Siren F is also still on its tower.
He did say as of yesterday. And you haven’t been since November, so it could have come down recently.
@@al66class59 Oof
Current signal: hi-lo and alert
I could have never guessed! 😮
It would be cool to have Whelens in the UK. There's also a 3T22 in the UK as well.
Why did it start with the all clear instead of the escape tone?
familieslife1 I have no clue, but they’ve been doing it like this for the past few weeks
@@BritishRailwaysandSirens Its so they know its a test i suppose i don't know.
@@adamcassidy1133yeah but they would know that it was a test because it sounds for 20 minutes during an escape instead of 3 during a test

What are they gonna do with the old sirens?
WolfDogFilms probably scrapping them
Probably scrapping most and maybe keeping one as a museum piece or something similar
Sounds like a tornado siren here in the Midwest...
Escape signal supposed to be first...
Ivy Besmonte at the time I recorded this test, they had done all clear - escape a few times.
Ivy Besmonte to be fair it kinda makes sense to do all clear first, followed by escape, then finish with all clear
@@BritishRailwaysandSirensyeah for some reason towards the end they started sometimes testing all clear first sometimes escape first
Cs8?!🤨 Hi Lo
