    I really appreciate lectures coming online but it wont be useful if they dont have some spark in them ... I tried watching lecture for sometime 8-10 minutes but got bored .. i switched to an another lecture from university of California and found that interesting .. I think we are missing some real delivery issue of the material .. teachers keep on writing on the board and say it repeatedly. It is annoying and hence people loose focus .. this thing i have felt from long ago .. I am currently watching cryptography with Christof paar and they are damn interesting . So this is just a feedback to nptel team .. I hope you guys consider this

      Look at the words he is using here he is a lecturer and not a public speaker or a word decorator which are most of the American professor are .

      Moreover this is not a t 20 match or a blue film which u LL find interesting it's all about interpretation and comprehension

      I do agree with you. While I agree with others that a lecture doesn't have to be as interesting as a movie or TV series, the presentation still matters. If the teacher gives insights at a more personal level, which reflect on how he/ she himself/herself understands the subject, and connects with the audience more, then the class becomes more interesting. Without that, it's almost like reading something from the textbook. In general, science/ engineering classes in US schools have more personal touch than similar classes in Indian schools. That's probably reflected in the comparison you are making between the UC Davis lecture series, also on TOC, and this one. Also one more thing to remember, as far as I know these NPTEL lectures are mostly recorded in empty classrooms while those US school lectures are recorded with a live audience. So quite naturally, the presentation in the NPTEL lectures becomes more impersonal and dry.

    23:32 is a what ? Sir please explain , the dfa can be made just by 3 states

    • @shayaksarkar7740
      @shayaksarkar7740 4 года назад

      I think he just wanted to re-iterate the fact an automaton can be made by considering all the possible states in which a machine can be. So he simply took all the possible states the machine could be, i.e where the last two digits are 0s, or 01,11 and 10. I am pretty sure he is aware of the fact

    7:02 mins u said Pen and paper is a computational device. Which is a completely false statement. If we write 1+2 on paper it ain't gonna give 3 as output by itself. We are the one who is writing the output 3 on paper after calculating the problem. How can a thing which has no computational power can be a computational device? We use pen and paper to note the current progress of the problem that doesn't mean pen and paper will become a computational device.
