Get viewers from the respective countries - volunteers, of course - , form another team and see which team is faster: GCN International or GCN Viewers International.
Appreciate the kudos GCN, thank you! Nice to see the climb with some high end cameras too❤One day it’ll be beaten, but I’ll have had my 15min of fame!😇
That just shows the effort and work you put in to get that KOM. The fact that a team of 8 people cannot relay faster. Mind you i hope they flagged their own ride.
How disillusioned must all the other riders on Sa Calobra feel that day with you guys passing them at 30kmph on the uphill!!! Love the international group, more please.
I think most of them saw them waiting on the side of the rode waiting when they passed the presenters first and after their efforts they probably got passed the second time by some of the more fit riders.
Just goes to show what a cracking ride Ed Laverack did in setting the KOM. He's a former UK National Hill Climb Champion, and with a relatively long parcours for the 2023 Nationals (The Struggle in the Lake District), surely a favourite to challenge Andrew Feather next year...
Brilliant international effort! More collaborative videos please - also on the other GCN channels. (And more female presenters, please, to keep the wonderful Manon company...)
Who is coming up with the content ideas at GCN of late!!…?? You guys are absolutely nailing it! From the Hankathons, to Si's bike demolitions lol. So so brilliant ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏 Thank you
I spent a couple of weeks there when I was in the Marines. I looked at the terrain and wished so badly that I had my bike with me. And here you are just rubbing it in.
I so can't believe you guys did not make it. It seems beyond belief that one rider can climb that moutain in one go faster then a relay team. Conratulations for the efort. I know I certainly would'n go so hard so that I could taste blood in my mouth. I also wonder if some people will start cheating on Strava KOM's by ridingin relays...
Good, that the wahoo worked. Mine lost gps on that climb and had me all over the place 🤣 Well, I am slow anyways🐢 really beautiful climb, great effort and video GCN🔥
Colorado, Pikes Peak or Mt. Evans etc. Or New York has the Catskills with a ton of short spiky KOMs like Meads Mountain Road right outside the village of Woodstock. Or the Adirondack Mountains further north for the White Face Mountain ride.
Now you have a new time to beat courtesy of Tommy P. That little assassin showed up in my home town (Los Angeles) for a couple days in October. Of course smashed a KOM at a legendary climb because, well, why not plant a British flag of domination in the colonies before sailing home?
Not intended as a dig at Si Richardson's effort - more a testament to the explosion of Strava - but his 11th place in 2016 seems to have become 183rd in 2022...
That was fun. I'll bet you could set up a little basket attached to the saddles so the exchange just involves the oncoming rider. Opportunity for a 3D printing hack with carbon netting.
can't help feeling the international side of gcn is underutilised. i watch french/spanish gcn, maybe a bit of italian if i'm feeling confident. some nice stuff on gcn+ - maybe subtitle some of the stuff on the other channels as i think we're missing out a bit.
Ollie and Alex were fannying about on the wrong side of the road in shorts doling out winter cycling advice earlier.... Meanwhile it's -10c here in the Cairngorms.... They're there I'm sure they'll be having a serious bash at it this week if not already....
They had no plan for the handoffs... I'm surprised they didn't accidently hit a button and stop the recording. Next time, maybe use a Velcro patch on each jersey and on the back of the Wahoo.
Thanks! You should check out our 'End to end' documentary where we try and break the Lands end to John O'Groats record as a relay! Watch it on GCN+ 👉 gcn.eu/lejogr
@@gcn already have 😉 Not my stile of video. I like the ones like this one, Si on TT vs how meny other riders, the Track videos, beginners vs and the hack and bodge section (wish it whas a little more hacks and bodges) and even bikewalt, it's fun to see other bikes, gives me ideas. I'm going too submit mine, but it's not ready yet. I have a CAAD12 with "custome" parts. Would like to get a supernice on it 🤣🤙
Great video and concept, as ever, though the music was a little intrusive on this one. Seemed to be throwing every piece of stock electronica in the book at the background of each section. Not hearing any live sound from the attempt made it feel a bit distant alongside the commentary.
So let me see if I understand this..... How many ex-pros basically "cheating" couldn't beat Ed? Hmmmm.... Still great efforts by all. And Ed, long live King Edward!👍
What other videos do you want to see us make with our international channel colleagues? 🤔👇
Get viewers from the respective countries - volunteers, of course - , form another team and see which team is faster: GCN International or GCN Viewers International.
Now that's a good idea!
Old school top gear style challenge competition. Buy a budget bike and do a bunch of stupid stuff.
Do all GCN County race . 4 man team to see you best GCN International team 100k race
Relay climb: Zoncolan on a Brompton.
Appreciate the kudos GCN, thank you! Nice to see the climb with some high end cameras too❤One day it’ll be beaten, but I’ll have had my 15min of fame!😇
So glad they didn't beat your time Ed 😀😀
You set a phenomenal time as a solo rider!
That just shows the effort and work you put in to get that KOM. The fact that a team of 8 people cannot relay faster. Mind you i hope they flagged their own ride.
No worries Ed! We're coming for that record... maybe! Your time is bonkers 🤯
Just puts into context how incredible your time is Ed - Amazing
Manon’s off the wall enthusiasm makes me smile every time - she reminds me of my sister who’s also a bit mad in the best way
She is always down for a challenge! 🙌
Hahaha yes must of been weird! Think they would of clawed then back after their turn 😂
They felt bad for about 30 seconds until they passed them again throwing up on the side of the road.
Just goes to show what a cracking ride Ed Laverack did in setting the KOM. He's a former UK National Hill Climb Champion, and with a relatively long parcours for the 2023 Nationals (The Struggle in the Lake District), surely a favourite to challenge Andrew Feather next year...

"Lots of complaining for a 2 min effort" 😂 Love it!
Brilliant effort. I love the international group challenges!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome one, next one get Ollie and Si as well, those two seem to be getting fitter by the day
Yes they do!
Loving the relay format - that should be a thing for the next TdF. Relay Team Time Trial.
If you liked that, you should check out our 'End to end' series on GCN+ 👉 gcn.eu/lejogr
That would be ultra fun. TDF needs to spice it up. Still wondering why they dropped the team time trial
@@GelMibson-u2y I know that they don't have the team time trial every year. Has it been announced that it has been dropped permanently?
Conors commentary for this video was exceptional

Like a beetroot smoothie for breakfast
For real. He could be the next Phil Liggett.
We saw Hank out and about in Mallorca, so we have been waiting to see what GCN were up to. Well done guys - took us that long to drive up it!
Nice to see Ed getting mentioned!!!!!!
We couldn't glance over such a record 👀
Perhaps you can give Ed Laverack a bit more kudos
He's an absolute weapon!
@@gcn and he’s Welsh and an amateurish

Love the faces of the mere mortals struggling up the climb as GCN presenters sprint past them.
Have to back my mate Ed. What a friend and what a guy he is.
Great channel should have a lot more subs!
@@chirpy999 Indeed.
A good bit of fun! Shows just how crazy fast that KOM/QOM is
Dude at 6:26 when Mannon went by him lol.
Next time you could try and strap the wahoo to Harry Kane's penalty. I'm sure it would have gotten up that hill in no time!
Too soon.
I spent a couple of weeks there when I was in the Marines. I looked at the terrain and wished so badly that I had my bike with me. And here you are just rubbing it in.
Challenge for Andrew Feather. Great effort from you all.
The best message of this video? Bike can connect people all around the world. Peace
So true!
This was a fun one to watch! I love vids like this.
You should retry including Ollie Bridgewood (under 30 min.), Simon Richardson (11th) and Andrew Feather !!!
We wanted to make them work for it. Couldn't give them too much help 😉
Bringing Feather is cheating, right?
"...tasting blood like a beet root smoothie..." 😂🤣 Well done Team GCN. High entertainment value and schooling in using GPS features. 👊
Schoolboy error - Wahoo should have been in a see through bottle for easier carry and exchange. Go do it again!!
Showing off in the sunshine again, while we're all freezing here in the UK :)

GCN Left their best climber at home....!
Ollie or Si? 👀
@@gcn EMMA!!!!
Then few days after this video Tom Pidcock had some fun on this climb.....and smashed the KOM with 22:46!!!!!
Love to see you guys race up Cragg Vale, the longest continuous climb in England 🤞🤞🤞
A great climb! I remember riding up there once and they had a race going up on Bromptons! Mad 😂

Love how they fly the 2 sprinters to Majorca to do a hill climb 😂
Taking on this climb next spring! Can't wait for that.
Nice!

He has put in one crazy time 🤯
Manon surpasses DS mode and goes full-on Mom mode.
your channel is amazing
UPDATE: Tom Pidcock smashing the KOM
Fantastic ...loved the mockery
Just give the wahoo to Ollie. He is in Beastmode right now and give him a new chance or send your ultimate "weapon".... Andrew Feather
We can also whip feather out the back pocket 👀
PIDCOCKKKKKKKKKKK you absolute beast!!
Wait you mean these beasts sprinted up this mountain full gas and were still slower than Laverack? Holy shit
Wished GCN japan was there too 🫣
You may need to get the notorious gcn stig on it 😉
That looked SUPER FUN. Man I want to book a flight!!
You should! Its a great place to ride
Head unit relay is such a good idea. Cheers gcn
Thanks! Glad you liked it
That's how I get all my KOMs on Strava!
GCN vs. Feather next time? Some time could be gained at the handovers. Florian and Alan showed how it‘s done.

I wonder if it would be faster to run a train with each leader required to hold a set power until they crack.
Maybe you should not have dropped Ollie for this one :)
Great video but Should have brought Ollie 😜 did Ollie do it in under 30 mins back along??
They didn't want the unfair advantage of having an actually decent climber... maybe

Ladies and gentleman, don't be that guy at 6:25 on any ride where you don't know the rider. Don't be THAT guy!
I have done Sa Calobra this July at 42°C. Definition of melting point 😩.
That sounds like a toasty ride! 🥵
They had no plan for the handoffs... I'm surprised they didn't accidently hit a button and stop the recording. Next time, maybe use a Velcro patch on each jersey and on the back of the Wahoo.
Pretty sure the real wahoo for the recording was on the camera moto. Surely the one the passed back and forth had sooooo many buttons pushed.
If GCN would fly me to Mallorca I'd be willing to give it a go. I will need a XXL GCN jersey for the ride though.

Can you guys share the route in gpx, Strava or Komoot? Would love to try it myself
There is only one way up, so easy to create yourself :-)
Now I know how my numerous, very elite KOMs are being stolen.
Great job, everyone. But just one question...where was Ollie??? He could have provided the time you needed. 🤔😉
He's still recovering from his race against Geraint Thomas
I reckon that last handover is what slowed you down folks
Tom Pidcock 😮😯😲
FEATHER!
Easy: @GCN. You just need to hire Pidcock

8 people managed to sprint and still lost! I thought the top record must have been a motorist hahah
The GCN crew aren't as fit as they used to be 😉
Wonder if the slow down at the exchange negates the advantage of many pairs of fresh legs.
Should have brought Ed over to the start line!
Gcn race up sa colabra again. See how everyone has changed
Who do you think would take it? 🔎
@Global Cycling Network gotta put ollie high up after all the climbing he's been doing
Andrew feather incoming
lol GCN opening new ways (at least I didnt think about it before) to CHEAT in strava.. and still manages not to win!. I wonder who made that 24:36 !!!
Why wasn't Andrew Feather racing for the Kom alongside the team to see if he could beat them too?
I think you can make a minute. Keep going!
With Ollie maybe?
3:08 "Our race is underway" while our rider (Giorgio) is clearly overweight!... 😂
Let me guess: the animated discussion at the beginning is whether the new kit is black with red, maroon, burgundy, rosso, rojo, rouge, or rot?
Yep sounds about right!😂
Matteo Jorgenson can get that kom !
