CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The girls from the ward have a day out and go to an ice cream shop.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In 1967, 19-year-old Susanna (Winona Ryder) feels that "reality is becoming too dense" and is diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. The doctor suggests to her parents that she be committed to the Claymore Hospital, and she spends the next 18 months struggling with her troubled psyche and the bizarre world of the institution. Susanna bonds with several other patients, including Lisa (Angelina Jolie), Polly (Elizabeth Moss), and Georgina (Clea DuVall). As she realizes that Lisa is potentially dangerous and truly needs help, Susanna begins to work harder with her psychiatrist (Vanessa Redgrave) and the nurse on the ward (Whoopi Goldberg). But Susanna soon learns that getting out of the hospital is not as easy as getting in. Girl, Interrupted was based on the autobiography of Susanna Kaysen, who really did spend a year-and-a-half in the McLean Psychiatric Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts.

That women really has some nerve. She is a grown middle aged women publicly shaming a 18 year old girl who clearly has issues instead of the middle aged professor who slept with his 18 year old student and also who she had a monogamic relationship with. For the people who say that the girl is to blame here too, i won’t argue if it’s moral or inmoral to sleep with someone in a relationship/married, but it wasn’t her job to make sure he was loyal.

This scene is absolutely hilarious. From Daisy sliding out the booth to gauge the drama and just the way these girls responded to the wife. Reminded me of the times I spent in facilities, group homes, and Mental Hospitals. I'll miss all those crazy girls that somehow in a dysfunctional way understood me,as i them and were all I knew in my childhood days. I think of them from time to time and i wonder if they know how much they meant to me. "RaNk YeW, CoMe AgAIn... MIsSeS PrOFeSSeR" 😂😂😂😂 I mean i really relate this movie on such a personal level, it's hard to put into words how much. As a child who was sexually abused by a parent and mistreated and misunderstood by everyone around them, put into the system for years on end, this movie will always hit home because I understand it through and through and was myself a Girl Interrupted.
All of them deserved Oscars. They all gave performances outside of their comfort zone for this.

Valerie was unfair on Lisa. Lisa was only sticking up for Susannah
Valerie was pretty harsh, but it was kind of her job to be. If nothing else, if Lisa had injured that woman, it would've meant a lot of trouble and unwanted attention for the hospital.
An argument is an argument but she grabbed a woman and wouldn’t let go. That actually constitutes battery and it’s Valerie’s job to make them fit to live in society.
