Knotorious, the Brocky #133 looks like it could be a distant cousin of the Arbsession Hitch. Very cool design. What length hitch cord did you use to make this hitch?
In the video, I used a spliced 32" Sterling RIT 9mm. But I've tied this hitch with a 30" RIT with sewn eyes. If you have a spliced 28", you can probably tied this hitch is my guess.
Hitches will unless they are made with aramid fibers and a proper hitch cord. Here we see the Sterling RIT Response 9mm hitch cord tied into the hitch. This cord will not melt under any amount of friction. But I can't guarantee that it won't melt your fully polyester or nylon rope. That comes down to being a controlled operator and not burning out needlessly from the canopy and not running it through devices too quickly. I use a hitch like this one with a rope wrench to help alleviate 50% of the tension on the rope from the hitch to above it.
@@Knot-orious I guess I’m still scared when it comes to rope on rope friction. I weigh about 215 and even more with all my gear on. Is there anything can help alleviate some of that fear I have with hitch cords breaking?
Use a rope wrench! Or use a mechanical device like a Rope Runner Pro (for SRS) or a Zig Zag (for MRS). There are so many other options. Mechanicals offer much less resistance than rope on rope. Less friction. Less fear. I hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply. Sometimes I don't get alerted for all comments.

Hitches like this don’t melt the rope under heavy tension?

Simply climbing MRS can alleviate 50% of the strain on your friction hitch. If you need help picking a system, don't hesitate to ask me for help!
