Greetings from a fellow Sutherland. I was told by my grandparents that our family tree traced back to Dunrobin. Would love to learn more and see this beautiful castle! Thanks for sharing this interview

Thanks, and yes, I felt like all I needed was a big poofy dress like Cinderella and I would have been inside a Disney movie! He really works so hard to keep the castle grounds so nice and really cares about his staff.

So cool that he has been at the castle for so long and been through many life events. Must have been such a great wedding venue in the past. Like he said, a great thing of being at a place like this is meeting all of the new people who visit.

What a fantastic perspective. A new history in the place with a deep history. Living in the big city we are so interested in the small community/village experience.
Does he still steal the Apples from the Kitchen Garden?
Thanks for sharing this video and thanks to Scott for sharing his life and experience. Supercool to watch!
Keep travelling and remember, Adventure is better shared with friends!

He used to steal the apples from the kitchen's garden, and told Lord Strathnaver that in his job interview!! LOL! Isn't he just the greatest!

What an awesome interview! I love learning about the behind the scenes like this. Especially in a beautiful castle like this! Just curious, did you call the hotel in advance to schedule an interview? Or were you staying there and just ask someone while you were there?

I emailed the castle in advance and asked if I could do an interview :)

So why does your gift shop not sell ANY Sutherland tartan gifts except for a cheap clip on bow tie and tie? You sell things in other tartans but not Sutherland. I've been to many Scottish castles and ALL of them sell gifts in the tartan of the Clan associated with the castle EXCEPT Dunrobin. As a Sutherland myself I find this strange and unacceptable.
