Most of the fan base would've including moats as well. And it wouldn't have been a reach if we went Barton considering where he went after us. Plus in the mock draft before this, deke literally opted for an ot in the first and getting Frazier since the mock had JPJ go early.

Barton wasn't a reach at 20, and would've likely been the best choice. There were more tackles after Troy in round 2-3, not to mention we still got Dan Moore.
@JamesHardy-yi1ph Dan Moore sucks. It was the best choice. Focusing on the pass protection and the oline in general is the way to go. Plus dan Moore only has on year left on his rookie contract. He's not worth signing to a 2nd contract. We needed another tackle and center to complete the oline. Couldn't be happier with the how the draft went. No more subpar oline Play will open everything else up.

He's a Tackle, not a Guard.
He was a top 15 pick who slid to 20th because most gm's think he was a better guard then tackle. I love the pick. The steelers oline will be the best in the nfl in a few years. Fautanu will be playing right tackle.

Fautanu is going to be our RT. He played LT at Washington but you got to remember that Penix is left handed, so Troy wasn't blocking his blindside.

I get that y’all think it’s just as easy as moving them sides, prolly cause Broderick/Chuks did a good job at it but imagine doing some one way for your entire working career, and you get hired at a new job and they say “scrap that, do the exact opposite of what you did there”
You would probably be confused and it could take a while for you to get acclimated.
@@jessehare2790 What are you talking about? O-Lineman switch positions all the time. Some play multiple positions in the same year. Broderick Jones is a natural LT, he even stated last year he would like to move back to his natural position of LT. Orlando Brown was drafted by the Ravens and they plugged him in at RT because of Ronnie Stanley being there and then traded him to the Chiefs where he went back to LT, where he played at Oklahoma. The Ravens wanted to keep him at RT. Jedrick Wills did the same thing in Cleveland. You could just go down the line of NFL teams and look at their tackles and figure it out.

Go thru the list of OL’s who DIDN’T play well after a position move
Dotson and K Green were huge examples of that and we got that experience first hand.

Our O line has the potential of being a top 5 o line after thus drive. Only pick I didn't like was Mccormick

In defense of these guys, the announcement of Fauntanu as a G Immediately throws you off. Then when you watch the film and you learn that this is the dude Tomlin and Omar set their sights on and he wasn’t a settle at all, you go from rationalizing the pick to liking it to loving it.

Deke is underwhelmed because the Steelers chose like the 6th tackle, while there were other players of need still out there, like all of the CB’s, all of the Centers, and some top WR’s. I think many people felt the same way until the Steelers hype train got to work, tbh. That said, I think it was an OK pick, and I hope it works out.
