    I felt the tension in Iga's game, something switched after the previous round with Collins. I hope she will dig deep and get back stronger without the pressure and expectations. She cannot win everything, with each opponents playing their best tennis to beat her. She's only human and will achieve amazing goals in 2024!!

    Sabalenka went through the terrible serve period, and it was weirdly worse. Adjustment while necessary is awkward. Incremental. She’ll come through it.

    Iga was not playing her level to which we kind of got used to. In the Polish press conference she mentioned that her timing was not great, she was sometimes late for a ball or taking the ball to early. But she didin't look very upset after loosing it so she knew it she could done better then this. Let's not forget she will turn just 23 in May and has already 4 GS titles, so everything still can happen. But overall I think this year will be much more challenging for her.

    With top seeds Rybakina and Swiatek now out of the top half of the draw, Svitolina and Azarenka are standing there thinking "maybe this is my year". Unfortunately this will not change anything for Gauff or Sabalenka since only one of them can get into finals.

    Its not complicated. One clay courter Rafa tried to bully his way to tennis top by winning RG each year. Iga is the same.
    But GOATs like Novak,Serena,Steffi they win each major many times easily.

    • @piqo44
      @piqo44 4 месяца назад +2

      She is not one clay courter. She won USO already, she is very good on hard in general courts and there is no reason she can not win AO. She won hard court majors in China, Europe, Saudi Arabia, USA, the only unlucky court for here is in Melbourne. In 2022 she was already in semifinal lost to Collins but mainly as because she was exhausted by 2 previous 3 setter games. In 2023 she got very unfair draw as Rybakina was seed 23 instead of 3 because of ban on russian tennis players and it was Swiatek who get her in 4th round. In 2024 Swiatek got by far the hardest draw. Kenin, Collins,, Ostapenko, Rybakina that was her potential path to final. 3 former AO finalist including one champion + Ostapenko who is best in WTA against her. Compare this to Gauff and Sabalenka draw.

      Grand Slams mostly on clay where big serving matters much less. No, she has to improve her weaknesses to stay at No.1. She’s not the best athlete, server, hitter, mover or volleyer. She can’t stay “the same” and expect winning results. The players behind her are working to be better and are ready to knock her down. Just as Noskova did.

      I still pick Iga as the best female tennis player since 2017 (when Serena turned pregnant after her 23rd slam win) over Osaka & Barty. Well i agree Osaka's peak is better than Iga on hard court but she doesn't have any consistency over a long period of time & Barty had consistency but her peak was definitely lower than Iga.
