Cute. Peoria is a toilet. The new hood is south of Forest Hill and continues to grow north, eating up more and more of the city. Look at house values in the heart of peoria. They're going down because of what is happening in peoria. Endless financial mismanagement, terrible roads, insanely high taxes, high crime, increasing numbers of murders, are all contributing to the demise of peoria. Now every school is being renamed after some black person no one's ever heard of. Peoria is turning into detroit, and its death is inevitable. Everyone I know has moved out of Peoria, and they hate to go into peoria. RIP.

As a former Peoria Police Officer, I have a little more in depth view of the crime…And there is a lot going on, just with that topic. I do appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Perhaps you should look up the name of the “black” person you’ve never heard of 🤔. They must’ve done or accomplished something great in life to have a school named after them. And this is America, matter-of-fact, this is planet earth. There will always be killing and murders. Hell that has been going on since the Bible days 😂. Anyway, Peoria seems like a good city to move to and I’m gonna give it a try for a year and see if I like it. There’s no way I could find a house for rent for $895 a month in Florida. Try to see the good and not focus so much on the bad 😅

@@LaurenThompsonIsMyRealName I completely disagree. ONLY PART of the city is laid out on a grid system. Street signs are hidden in foliage, and considering every tree in this desert had to be planned and planted, that is sheer stupidity. Lanes suddenly end or turn into turn-only lanes with NO warning signs. Even speed limit signs are blocks apart. It is impossible to turn left into or out of any business. They constantly close off lanes for months to make "repairs" to roads that don't need repairs. Even the parking lots are so chopped up that they're difficult to navigate. Taxi service is non-existent if you aren't on the Strip or at the airport, and now we can't even trust that Uber or Lyft will be reliable. The crime is bad but all cities have that but other than that I love it hear.People are nice and there are lots of things to do. My best buddy is from Chicago and he likes coming here.
Liberty309 Perhaps reconsider. If we’re comparing to coastal inflation, it’s difficult to even buy a house in the first place. Without any taxes at all, LA and SF homes take a lifetime to pay off. I know first hand. You’ll still come out ahead in a Midwest area like this if you have reasonable income.
Yea buy a house for cheap then pay the outrageous property taxes. One other thing the road in Illinois are the worst I’ve ever seen in any other state.
Burny8001 Well, there are other states that are strong contenders in that area hehe. Ever lived in the big mitten? Great place, but the road infrastructure needed work - especially East Michigan.
We are looking to move there but your site???? seems to have security warnings do you need that fixed??? we'd be able to help with that maybe in exchange for the assit in getting info etc

I'm not saying that Peoria isn't that great - but there are some downsides of living in Peoria. Caterpillar is almost alwyas on strike - unlesss your Uncle or a relative has a good position at CAt and you don't have alot of money - Peoria is not the place to live. IF you do have a little more money to spend then Yes Peoria isn't half bad - and of course anything is better than Chicago.
@@Illinoisliving definitely the riverfront and the catipillar museum and the river is awesome and I love Steak and Shake by the river. Thanks for asking. Where do u live
Moved to peoria 2 years ago. Super anxious to get out. Traffic does not flow. Layout of streets makes getting around town annoying. EVERY road is in need of repair. Some pot holes big enough to make a basketball disappear. Majority of roads are blacktop and bumpy. Because of this they need repair almost immediately after being done - job security for pavers. Almost zero concrete roads. Some roads are repaired with gravel - yes city streets covered with gravel(does not hurt property values?) Police REFUSE to patrol streets so traffic ignores most traffic laws. Common to be behind a car doing well under speed limit with car behind you inches off your bumper. Don't move here if you like having a nice car. The roads and other drivers with destroy it.
@@Illinoisliving That will depend on employment. I have been looking into new employer options for a couple weeks now. With this present job market there are all kinds of opportunities, with potential for a raise in pay.
I understand what your are TRYING to do but you failed. People aren't stupid, they realize crime is high, taxes are high, police are corrupt both in city and county ,.... There are not enough events because no big star wants to get involved with peoria and taxes. . Everything is overpriced. You definitely don't want to live here. This guy is trying to advertise peoria as a good place to live. After buying a house in a good area here but living through crime for 3 years, i can say that this man either doesn't live here or is blind to the crime that really is taking over the entire city. If you have money, move to Dunlap . Oh by the way, cheap houses in peoria are cheap because crime resides there. Finally, police will pull over any person they can even if you're simply driving down the street. For a little city sorrounded by very happy country people, I'm surprised this little town is so sad and messed up.
Well I like convenience and opportunity, good food as well. ANd some place not Chicago in the midwest thats nice. I got Indanapolis, South Bend/Elkhart IN, Omaha, Lincoln and now Peoria on the list.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic. If you like living bored and have absolutely nothing to do but work and grocery shopping, this is the city for you. It is the most boring city ever. And jobs, good luck because it's mainly restaurant or fast food. If you enjoy boring then move here. You have no idea how many people from different cities and states come here for an interview and reject the job due to Peoria being one of the most boring city. If you live in one of the very small towns in the boonies then maybe neighbors are nice. If you live in the city, good luck finding good neighbors. No one talks to eachother and you barely see anyone outside unless you live in the high crime area. There are shootings everyday, day and night. That's all you ever hear in the news.

The crime is bad but all cities have that but other than that I love it hear.People are nice and there are lots of things to do. My best buddy is from Chicago and he likes coming here.
I could NOT tell if you were being serious. Visiting for the first time this summertime. Peace ✌
Yeah, a lot of people are upset with just the title. lol. Definitely clickbait. thanks for watching and enjoy your visit!
Peoria is very violent.....high crime rates.
Peoria taxes are outrageous .
Yeah, they aren’t great. Does anywhere in IL have low property taxes though?
Liberty309 Perhaps reconsider.
If we’re comparing to coastal inflation, it’s difficult to even buy a house in the first place. Without any taxes at all, LA and SF homes take a lifetime to pay off.
I know first hand.
You’ll still come out ahead in a Midwest area like this if you have reasonable income.
For sure. Some of my friends in SoCal and the Bay Area tell me about their home prices and what that gets you...which isn’t much, compared to IL.
My daughter will be going to Bradley, so I might move to Peoria from Skokie IL. What neighborhoods should I avoid due to high crime?
cindymx02 happy to help. Send an email to info@soldbybrecklin.com .
Just checking back. Happy to help answer any questions. I was a cop there for 13yrs, if that helps any.
The East Bluff
All of them.
The north part of Peoria is one of the best places to live.
I grew up in East Peoria.
ya east p is dest than peoria it self lol
Great video, thanks so much for sharing!
Joshua Smith thanks for watching!
Yea buy a house for cheap then pay the outrageous property taxes. One other thing the road in Illinois are the worst I’ve ever seen in any other state.
You’re absolutely right. I hate the taxes here. It doesn’t seem like they’re going to get any better either.
Burny8001 Well, there are other states that are strong contenders in that area hehe. Ever lived in the big mitten?
Great place, but the road infrastructure needed work - especially East Michigan.
No. But i love it there. We like going to Macinac Island, Traverse City and the Western side of MI.
Good video brah very accurate
Thanks man!
We are looking to move there but your site???? seems to have security warnings do you need that fixed??? we'd be able to help with that maybe in exchange for the assit in getting info etc

@@craiga6435 Easy to find what NOT to like, but give me 1 thing you DO like.
@@Illinoisliving I do like the fact that I can own my own home but property taxes makes me feel like a renter again with no palm trees! There are good jobs here and if you work hard you can accomplish anything.
Totally sugar coated the bad, actually didn't serve it at all. Be careful where you move in Peoria.
thanks for watching
I really like these types of videos. Like how you spin negative to positive.
Tiffany Billman Realtor Thanks! It has been a great place to call home.
dont move its not worth it at all
I'm not saying that Peoria isn't that great - but there are some downsides of living in Peoria. Caterpillar is almost alwyas on strike - unlesss your Uncle or a relative has a good position at CAt and you don't have alot of money - Peoria is not the place to live. IF you do have a little more money to spend then Yes Peoria isn't half bad - and of course anything is better than Chicago.
There are also some great spots just outside of Peoria, if it fits your needs better. We moved to Hanna City, and love the space and quiet.
I live in Peoria
EAZY BREEZY what’s your favorite part of Peoria?

We moved here 8 years ago & our teens were given opportunities not available on the Northshore.
Love to hear that!!
Tell that to my brother, heh
I'm in Morton
Same, almost everyone I know lives there
Moved to peoria 2 years ago.
Where do you think you will move to?
@@Illinoisliving That will depend on employment. I have been looking into new employer options for a couple weeks now. With this present job market there are all kinds of opportunities, with potential for a raise in pay.

It's not going to work . Your just trying to save your job. People are moving out of Illinois for a reason. You are making yourself look silly.
Thanks for watching!
Wow, most of what you say isn’t true! I guess everyone’s perspective is different…..

The only reason not to move to Peoria is that it is in Illinois. Put it in Indiana or Missouri and I bet it would be thriving.
You’re right. The IL taxes are outrageous. That and it seems like when things start going well, IL says...”not so fast “...
Well I like convenience and opportunity, good food as well. ANd some place not Chicago in the midwest thats nice. I got Indanapolis, South Bend/Elkhart IN, Omaha, Lincoln and now Peoria on the list.

@@Illinoisliving I have a agent already. Thanks. Looking at homes @ the knolls
Haha I love this man!
Trevor Jones thanks sir!
Is this like a sarcasm video lol ?
Yes, turn it around, he's giving 5 reasons to move to Peoria.
Let's not forget about the average 30 murders that take place a year in Peoria
Those are in known bad parts of town and usually involve people doing things they shoudn't.Just the random person going about their daily life is not going to be murdered. From a lifelong Peorian.
@@debra1363 I agree for the most part.. but crime takes place in the nice parts of town as well.. there's been quite a spree of robbery at gun point an car jacking down town lately.. even with the police station being only a few blocks away not much detours crime around here seems like.. 20 years in Peoria myself
