1. Butter
2. Garlic
3. White Wine (we used chardonnay)
4. Cream (or milk)
5. Corn starch or flower

Quick and easy! Minced garlic is fine. Not everyone has time to smash up a clove of garlic, especially parents or literally every busy person who likes to cook. The higher quality of wine, the better. Yes, all alcohol cooks out and the flavor is then left behind which is what you’ll have in your dish. Obviously people want better flavor. 😊

You can put table spoon of cooking or olive oil to the butter so that it does not burn.

a quick critique, you are burning the butter and the garlic. Yes after you add the wine you can turn up the heat to bubble then reduce.

Reducing is letting it cook off liquid so the volume of sauce is reduced, but it's thicker

You mistakenly lumped Riesling with the dry wines. It’s actually very sweet and not likely to go with this dish.
It usually is sweet, especially German. France has a lot of nice dry riesling
