Nice Review, but the 16570 replaced in 2007 ?? I don’t think so. The 16570 has been produced from 1989 until 2010. Only the movement has been replaced from 3185 to 3186 in the last years of production, together with some minor updates. The 216570 has only been released in 2011

Yes absolutely robert, It looks like a 3186 model, g or random serial; produced around 2010 untill 2011. definitely a thin frame dial model, the best choice imo

Probably my favorite 16570 review on RUclips. Picked up a V serial in A condition, don’t see myself parting with this watch ever!

I love the 39mm and prefer it to the 42mm. That will be in my collection someday.

Terrific watch, I own the black dial bought it back in 2006 new. When I wore one I knew that this was the watch for me. I prefer it over the bezel of sub or gmt.

The 16570 polar is getting tough to find. It’s very discrete and doesn’t scream Rolex. Plus I like the size. Not too big and not too small.

I bought a new Polar 16570 in late 1999. I had just got divorced and was cash rich, and wanted to replace my 1980 GMT which I bought new and had worn for 20 years. I was travelling internationally for work, and wanted dual time capability.
As a 1999 it was the rare “Swiss” only dial (although I didn’t know it would become rare at the time) and still had lug holes.
The Polar proved to be the perfect watch. I could wear it on the aircraft, setting to local time on landing. I could wear it under a suit to meetings, without looking like a pretentious Rolex owner, I could see the home time and local time instantly, important to make meetings when jet lagged, and to make conference calls back to the office and the all important calls to my wife. I could could swim in the hotel pool with it, and if I hired scuba gear, I could check out the local diving at the weekend.
And hardly anyone recognised it back then as a Rolex watch.
Flash forward 20 years, and I still have it. I also own a 114060 Submariner Ceramic no date, bought to replace the 16570 But it doesn’t replace it.
It doesn’t do dual time zones, and attracts attention. Young blades come up to me in offices and bars and ask about my Sub, ask to see it, try it on, and tell me they want to buy one. Or worse - in bars some acne infested youth comes up waving his fake telling me he got it on Bangkok for $100.
And for that reason, my Polar still gets a lot of wrist time and my Sub sits in its box.
Buy a Polar Explorer 2. Its the perfect Rolex.

This is much nicer than the newer polar with orange hands.

Notorious N I agree, the newer model looks bloated and unbalanced

That watch looks AMAZING on YOUR wrist!!!! What is your wrist size? I think I'm with you on looking this model better than the new, seems more "under the radar" with just a touch more class than the new

Great video. Yeah I find myself slowly replacing my newer Six digit references with the older five digit models. It’s not just the lighter weight, there is something about the bracelets that are more comfortable. There aren’t so rigid and seem to breathe. No easy link needed!

Almost the exact same dimensions as the Tudor bb58. Rolex and Tudor really need to make more watches in this size as the market demand proves that these are the better sizes

16570 polar is the best rolex watch in my opinion, underrated, not flooded everywhere as the sub. Perfect size, wrist feel and looks. The new one is too big and bulky, different hands make it unpleasant to look at.

It is not a GMT watch, the fixed bazel is for keeping track of day or night, as the watch is meant for cave exploreres
