    Extending a train line? That's probably the understatement of the century. xD That's Stuttgart 21, the biggest and most controversal construction project in all of Germany. They're putting the train station and many, many kilometers of tracks completly underground.

    • @proudtobeme1ashkente
      @proudtobeme1ashkente 8 лет назад +6

      Well, most controversial next to the Berlin Airport...

      Actually that constitution has nothing to do with Stuttgart21. They are extending the U12 line

      Zafran Orbian What? Here in Toronto its just books, CDs (and I think cassettes up till a few years ago), ebooks, magazines and thats about it. There is one library that has a 3D printer... But no video or board games, no puzzles or anything cool like that!

    • @DarkshadowXD63

      Zafran Orbian Puzzles are common in the US libraries though Board Games I've never seen before in a library especially to rent

      +Andreas Kohlmann No it was the Western TV Tower in Berlin wich also broadcasted the 1936 Olympics in Berlin LIVE (First public viewing as many bars and cafes only had a expensive TV). The Berlin TV Tower was even the worlds first TV tower with the Paul Nipkow TV as the worlds 1st TV channel. 8 Months later the BBC started as second TV station.

    There's a funny story about that little fountain in the middle: When opening, it used to be as white as the surrounding floor, but people didn't see it early enough and stepped right in while looking at the ceiling.
    So they had to make it more visible.

  • @Annika9517
    @Annika9517 8 лет назад +4

    aahhhhh I don't like the new main library. it's so sterile (hospital/modern art museum feeling) and not really inviting you to stay for hours. I think the old place was so much nicer. (I mean the king used to live there?!) I like going to the smaller libraries (Stadtteilbücherei) more. they are just more gemütlich ;-) And Sam have you been to the Stuttgart Bücherbus?? they wanted to get rid of them but many people fought for them to stay. (my mum was one of them and I look like her so the driver of ours is my fan 😂😂😂😂😂) if not definitely check them out cause a library in a bus that comes to smaller parts of the city is a super nice thing!

    I visited the Stuttgart library when I was in Stuttgart earlier this year. But I couldn‘t/didn‘t find the open part of the library above the blue square 🤔 Consequently I found the library building to have a lot of wasted space.

    Actually, being able to rent games isn't that uncommon here.
    I live in a pretty rural area, close to a town with less than ten thousand citizens, Altenkirchen. In the library of Altenkirchen, you can rent all kinds of media- Books, Comics, Old Newspaper Collections, DVDs, Board Games and, for a while now, video games. Primarily Nintendo DS games.

I need some practice. Haven't found many tutors online available. I want to study for my masters degree in Germany. : ) Some movie recommendations would also be appreciated. I need to hear it more to learn it a bit faster. I dislike sci-fi books and movies. It does not interest me. Thanks for sharing Sam! ~Peace
